Promoting Word-of-Mouth communication: The moderating role of leisure sport social media

  • Purpose: Usage of leisure-sport social media would lengthen and strengthen the effects of positive event experiences on WOM behavior. This study is to examine the extent to which leisure sport social media use has the moderating potential to enhance the direction of the relationship between post-event emotions and event WOM behavior. Research design, data and methodology: A running event located in a major metropolitan area in the southeastern United States was selected. Participants of the running events completed the survey. Descriptive analysis and correlations between primary variables of interest were conducted. To examine interactions within the context of moderated regression, a hierarchical regression analysis was employed. Results: The results confirmed direct effects of a sense of achievement and event satisfaction on event WOM intention, supporting H 1 and H2. In specific, result revealed that the amount of time spending on social media for running content moderated the effect of a sense of achievement on event WOM intention, supporting H3, however, H4 was rejected. Conclusions: There are managerial implications of these results, particularly which pertain to how organizers may be able to use perceived benefits (i.e., a sense of achievement and satisfaction) and social media to increase positive WOM intention.

A Study on Leisure Life in Accordance with Gender (성별에 따른 여가생활에 관한 연구)

  • The purpose of this study is to provide basic information necessary for improving the satisfaction and quality of leisure life and thereon propose better leisure life programs in accordance with gender. For the purpose, this researcher made a questionnaire survey of 560 persons between July and December 2003 to know the trend and satisfaction of their leisure life in accordance with their gender. Results of the study can be summarized as below; First. the extent to which the surveyed persons participated in leisure life was highest in terms of other leisure activities, followed by self-development. viewing activities, sports activities and journey in order. The satisfaction of leisure life participation by those surveyed persons was scored 3 or over in average, meaning 'generally satisfied'. The time of leisure life participation was most spent in other leisure activities and self-development. Expenses of the participation were highest in terms of other leisure activities. followed by self-development and viewing activities in order. Second, differences in sub-areas of leisure life were analyzed in accordance with gender to show that the degree and time of participation in viewing activities and self-development, expenses of sports activity participation and the degree of participation in journey and others were significantly different between the opposite sexes which were surveyed here. Men were higher in the degree, time and expenses of the participation than women. Third. effects of gender on the satisfaction of leisure life as a whole were determined here to show that men were higher in such satisfaction when they were more satisfactorily participating in sport activities while in case of women, when they were spending more time in sport activities. Women showed a higher satisfaction of leisure life as a whole when they were more frequently and satisfactorily participating in other leisure activities. Based on these results, the researcher proposed effective leisure life programs in accordance with gender.

The Relationship between Leisure Activities and Smoking/Drinking of Middle School Students (중학생의 여가활동과 흡연.음주와의 관계)

  • Purpose: This study was to identify the correlation between leisure activities and smoking/drinking of middle school students. Methods: Data were collected through a questionnaire survey of 298 middle school students from the $2^{nd}$ to $30^{th}$ of September, 2009. Collected data were analyzed statistically using frequency, $x^2$ test, t-test, ANOVA, Duncan test, Pearson's correlation coefficient, and hierarchical multiple regression analysis using the SPSS/WIN 17.0 program. The study used the Adolescent Leisure Time Activities Scale (ALTAS) developed by Yin et al. (1999) for types of leisure activities and the Leisure Satisfaction Scale (LSS) developed by Beard & Ragheb (1980). Results: First, smoking/drinking caused significant differences in 'Socialization with friends', and drinking also caused significant differences in 'Sport activities'. Second, leisure satisfaction was positively correlated with 'currently drinking' (r=.126, p<.05). Third, significant factors influencing leisure satisfaction were grades, school life satisfaction, subjective health status, average daily leisure time, participation in leisure health program, and current drinking. These variables explained 23.4% of leisure satisfaction. Conclusion: School nurses should develop and run programs, which promote healthy ways for middle school students with wrong ways such as drinking to get leisure satisfaction. Also family, school and community should be cooperatively connected with one another.

The Effect of Elderly Sports Activities Participation Motivation on Leisure Satisfaction (노인의 스포츠 활동 참여동기가 여가만족에 미치는 영향)

  • The purpose of this study was to verify the effect of elderly sports activities participation motivation on Leisure Satisfaction The participants were from elderly who the daily sports program. A total of 250 questionnaires were distributed from Sep. 1 to Oct. 31, 2018 and, after excluding 53 questionnaires that had missed or inappropriate answers thus low reliability, 197 questionnaires were included in effective sample. The collected data were analyzed using SPSS Statistics 21 and frequency analysis, exploratory factor analysis, reliability analysis, regression analysis were performed. The results, based on them, are as follows: First, Among the motivations for participating in the elderly sports activities, internal motivation influenced psychological satisfaction, educational satisfaction, psychological satisfaction. Second. external motive influenced social satisfaction, resting satisfaction. Third. amotivation influenced psychological satisfaction, educational satisfaction, resting satisfaction, environmental satisfaction.

Exploring the value of marine sports as a sport for all (생활체육으로서 해양스포츠의 가치 탐구)

  • As the participation in marine sports activities has increased according to the increased national income, changes in lifestyle, etc., this study explored various values and possibilities towards a sport for all, which are inherent in marine sports, through the literature research with respect to leisure activities, sport for all, and marine sports. As a result of study, marine sports include the functional values, such as leisure satisfaction and welfare function, as a tool to improve the quality of life, which the sport for all may have, and not only have a positive impact on individual lives, but further, can also contribute to raising the level of social well-being. Marine sports are directly experienced physical activities utilizing nature and importantly functioning in human beings' understanding nature; especially, it could be found that they have the high emotion-educational value which could make the right personality formed for the adolescents in modern society, whose unrealistic leisure activities account for the most part of their leisure time. These results suggest that marine sports contain sufficient positive values and possibilities as a sport for all, and the value as a sport for all could be realized which marine sports may have through active participation.

A Study on The Leisure Satisfaction of Members of Soccer Sports Club as a Life Sport (생활체육 축구동호인의 여가만족도에 관한 연구)

  • The study on the satisfaction of leisure sports and the leisure sports. The subjects of the study were selected and recruited 250 members belonging to each community association as the population of the sports club members. The data sampling method was a simple random sampling method based on the self-administration method and was collected after the questionnaire was prepared. A total of 200 questionnaires were analyzed, except for 50 cases in which the reliability of the questionnaire was doubtful. Factor analysis, ${\chi}^2$, factor analysis, reliability analysis, and one - way ANOVA were used for the data analysis. First, there was a significant difference in leisure satisfaction among the participants in the age group. Second, there was a statistically significant difference in leisure satisfaction among the different education levels of participants. Third, there was no significant difference in leisure satisfaction according to monthly average salary.

Influences of Physical Self-efficacy by Sport Leisure Activity on General Self-efficacy and Life Satisfaction for Women (여성의 스포츠여가활동을 통한 신체적 자기효능감이 일반적 자기효능감 및 생활만족에 미치는 영향)

  • The purpose of this study was to investigate the influence of physical self-efficacy by a participation of sport leisure activity on general self-efficacy and life satisfaction for women based on the survey data from 174 women participating in swimming program in indoor pools at the area of Daegu and Gyongbuk. With the empirical analysis of the data, this study found the following conclusion. First, physical self-efficacy were significant on all general self-efficacy factors. Thus physical self-efficacy were influenced on pride, interpersonal relations, overcome difficulties, endurance. Second, physical self-efficacy was significant on life satisfaction. thirdly, general self-efficacy was partly significant on life satisfaction. Thus pride, interpersonal relations were not influenced on life satisfaction but influenced on overcome difficulties, endurance. Fourth, in case of the women over 40 years of age, physical self-efficacy was not significant on life satisfaction, and only endurance of general self-efficacy factors was influenced on life satisfaction. Whereas in case of the women under 40 years of age, physical self-efficacy was significant on life satisfaction, and overcome difficulties, endurance general self-efficacy factors were influenced on life satisfaction.

Effects of Leisure Satisfaction on Health Promotion Behavior and Quality of Life of Participants In the Walking Program "Geod-Jyu" (걷기 프로그램 '걷쥬' 참여자의 여가만족이 건강증진행위 및 삶의 질에 미치는 영향)

  • Purpose : This study aimed to investigate the leisure satisfaction of participants in the Geod-Jyu walking program and to examine the relationship between health promotion behaviors and quality of life. In addition, we investigated the impact of leisure satisfaction with walking among program participants on health promotion behaviors and quality of life. By clarifying these relationships, we aimed to identify factors of leisure satisfaction with walking that could enhance participants' health promotion behaviors and quality of life. Methods : A survey was conducted among 301 participants enrolled in the Geod-Jyu walking program in Chungcheongnam-do, with 288 responses analyzed. Data analysis included Pearson's correlation, confirmatory factor analysis, and multiple regression analysis using SPSS 27.0. Result : Leisure satisfaction exhibited a positive correlation with health promotion behavior (r=.544, p<.01) and quality of life (r=.478, p<.01). Furthermore, health promotion behavior showed a positive correlation with quality of life (r=.636, p<.01). Leisure satisfaction positively influenced quality of life, with physiological satisfaction (β=.16, t=2.32) and relaxation satisfaction (β=.15, t=2.04) emerging as notable contributors. In addition, leisure satisfaction had a significant positive impact on health promotion behaviors, with psychological satisfaction (β=.24, t=3.09) and educational satisfaction (β=.20, t=3.09) playing key roles. Health promotion behavior had a positive impact on quality of life, with all sub variables exhibiting significant positive effects in the following order: self-actualization (β=.24, t=4.16), stress management (β=.22, t=3.97), exercise (β=.22, t=4.05), and health responsibility (β=.12, t=2.14). Conclusion : The findings indicate that factors related to physical and rest satisfaction, as well as health-promoting behaviors facilitated by walking, significantly affected the quality of life among Geod-Jyu participants. Thus, promoting leisure satisfaction and engaging in health-promoting activities through walking can enhance overall well-being. Encouraging participation in the Geod-Jyu walking program is critical for physical and psychological benefits, and for promoting healthier behaviors. Further development of Geod-Jyu is expected to enhance walking satisfaction, promote self-care skills for health management, and positively influence quality of life.

Research on the Wearing Conditions of Rash Guard in Marine Leisure Activities (해양 레저활동에 따른 래시가드의 착용실태 연구)

  • We investigated the characteristics of subjects in marine leisure activities and the wearing conditions of a rash guard through a consumer survey. The questionnaire examined the number of rash guards owned by different styles, wearing size, choice of rash guard compared with ordinary clothes, and the satisfaction in a rash guard (color, textile, size, quality, price, function, and design) using Likeret Scales. The subjects were 105 adult men and the data analysis utilized an SPSS 20.0 Package. The results were significant for wearing conditions correspondent with the marine leisure activities. More years of experience resulted in a higher number of rash guards owned. A higher level of participation in sport resulted in more different styles of rash guards. More years of experience resulted in an increase preference for tight rash guards. In the case of wearing L and XL size that selected the smaller rash guard over the ordinary clothes, it was evaluated at "satisfaction" level in color, textile, size, quality, function, design. In the case of wearing XS, S and M size that did the larger and same as ordinary, it was at "ordinary" level and bellow.

The Relationship between Elementary School Student's Judo Gym Training Program and Life Satisfaction: The Mediation Effect of Social Development (초등학생에 대한 유도체육관 프로그램 특성과 생활만족의 관계: 사회성 발달의 매개효과)

  • This purpose of study was to influence of elementary school student's Judo gym training program on social development and life satisfaction. This study aims at providing fundamental data and information on Judo participants by studying what effects of training program characteristic on social development and life satisfaction. The survey was done through 300 copies and excluding 15 copies ran an analysis on the remaining 285(90%) copies. After question investigating the data which is collected used IBM SPSS statistics 21 and IBM AMOS 21 program, frequency analysis, Exploratory factor analysis and confirmatory factor analysis, convergent validity, discriminant validity, Cronbach's ${\alpha}$, correlation analysis, path analysis through Structural Equation Model(SEM), mediation effect analysis by Sobel test. The result of this study were as follows. First, elementary school student's Judo gym training program showed (+) effects on social development. Second, elementary school student's Judo gym training program had no effects on life satisfaction. Third, social development showed (+) effects on life satisfaction. Forth, social development showed complete mediation effect on elementary school student's Judo gym training program and life satisfaction.
