Colorimetric Values of Various Myoglobin Derivatives in Pork and Beef Ribeye

  • Various myoglobin derivatives were manufactured in pork and beef ribeye in the laboratory and their colorimetric values were measured with a chromameter. The average values of L* and a* of pork pigments were higher and b* values were lower than those of beef pigments. Oxymyoglobin (bright red) is considered to be a desirable fresh red meat pigment for consumer acceptance. The means of L*, a* and b* values of oxymyoglobin were 36.41, 27.32 and 4.71 for pork and 30.54, 25.58 and 9.81 for beef, respectively. Nitrosyl hemochrome, the pigment of processed meat products like sausages and hams had L*, a* and b* values of 47.93, 26.85 and 6.63 for pork and 41.82, 23.19 and 11.82 for beef. It was found that as a discoloration developed in meat and the meat color turned to brown, the L*, b* values increased and the a* value decreased.

  • A number of panoramic radiographic images of the condylar head taken at various horizontal angulations were compared. A small artificial osteophyte was attached to the eight different portions of the condylar head and a small hole was created in four different portions of the condylar head. Three oral and maxillofacial radiologists evaluated the panoramic condylar images. The results were as follows : 1. Osteophytes in the superomedial, anterocentral and anterolateral portions could be detected easily, but those in the lateral, superolateral and medial portions were very hard to identify. 2. The greater the condylar horizontal angle, the easier it was to detect an osteophyte. But there was no statistically significant difference except between 0 and 40 degrees of horizontal angulation. 3. Holes in the anterocentral and superocentral portions could be detected easily, but those in the lateral and medial portions were very hard to identify. There were no differences between the various condylar horizontal angles.

  • 단동형 비닐하우스의 규격은 대부분 폭 5-6m, 하우스높이 2.4m정도로 아연도금파이프 ø22mm, ø25mm를 이용하여 아치형이나, 돌출형(복숭아형) 형태로 서까래간격 60cm에서 120cm까지 시공되어 있으며 남부지역에서는 서까래 간격이 넓게 시공되는 것이 일반적이다. 최근에는 하우스 환기를 위해 측면 권취 뿐만 아니라 하우스의 천장에 상품화된 연통형(굴뚝형) 환기구를 단동형 비닐하우스에 많이 이용되고 있으며 시설내환경을 조절하고 있다. (중략)

  • 시설내 방적처리별 광환경, 개선 효과는 수적율이 환기나 송풍 단독으로 처리한 경우보다 2.6-5.8% 가량 낮은 2.7%를 보여 투광율이 송풍, 환기 단독 처리구보다 2.7-4.9% 가량 높아 67.4%를 보인 송풍+환기개선처리에서 가장 우수하였고 하우스 공간에서의 정식후 6일간 적산최저기온은 무처리에 비하여 4.6$^{\circ}C$가 낮았으나 작물이 정식된 터널에서는 0.8$^{\circ}C$ 정도 낮았다. 참외의 생육은 환경이 방적효과로 광환경이 우수한 송풍+환기개선처리에서 두 처리보다 엽수가 3-5매 가량 많고 착과율도 4-8% 정도 높아 전체적인 수량이 3,630kg/10a로 무처리에 비하여 43%나 증수되었다.

The Effects of Carbon Sources on the Biosynthesis of the Phospholipid and the Fatty Acid Composition of Mitochondria in Chlorella ellipsoidea

  • The biosynthesis of phospholipid and the composition of fatty acid were analyzed in mitochondria isolated from Chlorella ellipsoidea treated with carbon sources (glucose, sucrose, raffinose) during the culture. The growth of Chlorella and total lipid contents in mitochondria treated with various carbon sources was increased to compare with the control. When Chlorella mitochondria was treated with various carbon sources, four kinds of phospholipid were increased predominantly. The major fatty acids utilized for the biosynthesis of the phospholipid were analyzed linoleic acid (average 25.18%) and stearic acid (average 10.52%) in the control. But, it was shown that the major fatty acids in Chlorella mitochondria treated with glucose were stearic acid (average 30.93%), palmitic acid (average 17.47%) and stearic acid (average 20.31%), linoleic acid (average 16.68%) in sucrose treatment and oleic acid (average 17.17%), palmitic acid (average 15.64%) in raffinose treatment.

  • Dynamic behaviour of a package of a microwave oven under the drop-impact conditions is evaluated by the finite element analysis and tests. PAM-CRASH software is used for the finite element analysis and the tests are performed according to the ISTA(International Safe Transit Association) specification. Results of the analyses are compared with those of the tests and accuracy is shown to be favourable. Under the drop-impact condition of the original design, severe deformation occurs and an improved design is proposed to reduce it. The approach presented in this research can be successfully applied to reduce costs and time required to develop new models of the microwave oven.

  • This paper deals with the development of an expert system modeling by constructing a knowledge-based system of the dive recovery for anticrash on the ground or sea during the task of fighter aircraft. In an IBM PC / XT computer, a prototype dive recovery expert system is constructed using mu LISP-86 programming language, and is interconnected to the SAM SUNG RM-501 robot arm to test and simulate this model. The knowledge base of this model is composed of the dive recovery charts and the V-N envelope charts of F-4 D Phantom fighter aircraft. It is shown that the prototype expert system woks well and the feasibility of practical realization is valid.

  • This paper presents a novel current control system to eliminate the steady state control error and to improve the transient characteristics for PWM AC-DC converter. A general mathematical model of the converter that is represented as a state-space model is first established. The state-space model is used for the simulation of PWM switching converter with the proposed current control system. The proposed sinusoidal tracking control system that does not require coordinate transformations using principle of the integral controller is described. It is proved that the steady state deviation reduces to zero through a transfer function of source current control system. Finally, it is seen that simulations agree with the experimental results in source current and reference of controlled ac current loop.

  • Brushless DC motor(BLDCM) are suitable to operate in a wide speed range, easy to control and since there are no mechanical brushes and commutators, require low maintenance costs and are free from restrictions of application environment. And since the ratio of instantaneous torque and rated torque is high, BLDCM are appropriate for variable speed operation. This paper proposes the optimal model by using Matlab/simulink based on modelling and characteristic analysis of trapezoidal back EMF type BLDCM and verifies the validity of the proposed model by applying control systems.
