수학화 경험 수업에서 나타난 초등학생의 수학적 능력 및 수학화 분석 (The Analysis of Mathematical Abilities and Mathematization in the Mathematising Experience Instruction for Elementary Students)

  • This study, to effectively teach the concepts, principles and problem solving ability of the 2nd graders' learning of numbers and operations, offers realistic problem situation and focuses on the learning based on 'mathematization', one of the most important principles of RME (Realistic Mathematics Education) which is the mathematics education trend of Netherlands influenced by Freudenthal's theory. The instruction is applied to forty-one students of the 2nd grader for six weeks in twelve series in an elementary school, located in Seoul. To investigate the effects of the mathematising experience instruction for improving mathematical abilities, the group takes tests before and after the instruction. Also the qualitative analysis on the students' mathematising aspects through students' output at the instruction process is taken into account to evaluate the instruction's effects. The result shows that the mathematising experience instruction for improving mathematical abilities is proved to improve students' understanding of mathematical concepts and principles and their problem solving ability in learning numbers and operations after carrying out this instruction. Also the result indicates that students' mathematising aspects are mostly horizontal and vertical mathematization.

개념연결표의 활용이 예비교사들의 수학 학습에 미치는 영향에 관한 연구 (A Study on the effects of the use of the Link Sheet in pre-service mathematics teachers' mathematics learning)

  • 본 연구의 목적은 개념연결표의 활용이 예비교사들의 수학 학습에 미치는 영향에 대해서 조사하는 것이다. 본 연구는 25명의 예비교사들을 대상으로 미적분학 강좌 시간을 활용하여 한 학기 동안 수행되었다. 연구에 참여한 예비교사들을 대상으로 실시한 설문조사 및 면담 결과에 의하면 개념연결표의 활용은 여러 가지 측면에서 예비교사들에게 긍정적인 영향을 미친 것으로 나타났다. 개념연결표의 활용은 예비교사들의 수학적 개념에 대한 이해와 수학적 의사소통능력을 발달시키는데 도움이 되었으며 수학의 유용성이나 가치 인식 및 자기주도적이고 적극적인 수업 참여를 유도하는데 효과적인 것으로 나타났다.

제품설계 신뢰성 제고를 위한 LCC의 알고리즘 연구 (A Study on Algorithm of Life Cycle Cost for Improving Reliability in Product Design)

  • Parametric life-cycle cost(LCC) models have been integrated with traditional design tools, and used in prior work to demonstrate the rapid solution of holistic, analytical tradeoffs between detailed design variations. During early designs stages there may be competing concepts with dramatic differences. Additionally, detailed information is scarce, and decisions must be models. for a diverse range of concepts, and the lack of detailed information make the integration make the integration of traditional LCC models impractical. This paper explores an approximate method for providing preliminary life-cycle cost. Learning algorithms trained using the known characteristics of existing products be approximated quickly during conceptual design without the overhead of defining new models. Artificial neural networks are trained to generalize on product attributes and life cycle cost date from pre-existing LCC studies. The Product attribute data to quickly obtain and LCC for a new and then an application is provided. In additions, the statistical method, called regression analysis, is suggested to predict the LCC. Tests have shown it is possible to predict the life cycle cost, and the comparison results between a learning LCC model and a regression analysis is also shown

  • 수학교육의 목표 중의 하나인 합리적이고 창의적인 문제해결력을 기르기 위해서는 그 기저가 되는 수학적 개념 및 원리 법칙에 대한 올바른 이해가 뒷받침되어야 할 것이다. 수학과 교육과정에서 수학적 개념 및 원리 법칙의 교수 학습 방법으로는 주변의 여러 가지 현상을 학습 소재로 하여 구체적 조작 활동과 탐구 활동을 통하여 학생 스스로 개념, 원리, 법칙을 발견하고 이를 정당화하도록 권고하고 있다. 본고에서는 수학적 원리 법칙의 의미와 귀납적 추론 절차를 살펴보고, 교육과정에서 권고하는 원리 법칙지도를 위한 방안으로써 발견을 통한 지도와 발견전략으로써 귀납에 의한 지도 방법 및 지도상의 유의점을 살펴보았다.

비유클리드 기하학에서 이차곡선의 이해를 통한 예비교사교육 (Research on Pre-service Teacher Education Through Understanding of Conic Sections in Non-Endidean Geometry)

  • 예비교사가 비유클리드 기하학에서 수학적 정의를 이용한 이차곡선의 학습으로 유클리드 기하학의 다양한 개념을 어떻게 이해하고 활용할 수 있는지를 살펴본다. 본 연구에서는 D 대학교 수학교육과 3학년 수업에서 수학적 정의를 이용하여 택시기하, 민코프스키 거리공간과 같은 비유클리드 공간의 이차곡선 학습이 예비교사들에게 새로운 기하학적 개념을 습득하고 수용하는 능력 향상에 도움을 줄 수 있음을 보였다. 이러한 결과로부터 택시기하와 민코프스키 거리공간에서의 정의를 활용한 이차곡선 학습이 창의적이고 유연한 사고를 유도하여, 예비교사들의 유클리드 기하학 교육 전문성 향상에 기여할 것으로 기대된다.

생태학적 지식과 관련된 우리나라 환경교육의 실태 분석 (An Analysis for the status of Environmental Education in the light of the Ecological Knowledge in Korea)

  • Environmentally literated students and adults should be able to use and apply the basic ecological concepts when considering environmental problems and issues. Because ecology forms the foundation of environmental education, a review of the literatures on the degree of students' understanding for ecological concepts can provide useful insights for environmental educators. The purposes of this study were as follows: first, to analyse the parts connected with ecological knowledge of two environmental education books, ‘environments’(middle school) and ‘environmental science’(high school), second, to investigate the level of understanding on ecological concepts by the use of new developed instrument. The 20 most important ecological concepts from Cherrett(1989) and the important ecological concepts' lists from Hungerford and Volk(1990), Ramsey, Hungerford and Volk(1992), Volk(1993) would be recognized and endorsed by most environmental educators as concepts essential to environmental literacy, We referenced these informations and sequenced ecological knowledge as four main categories(communities, populations, ecosystem, man as a component of the nature systems). We have used it as a criterion in the analysis of teaching materials and the development of a new test instrument($\alpha$=0.81). According to the analysed results, the understanding levels for scales and relationships of communities, populations, ecosystem were high but those for individual concepts and differences were low. By the analysis of Korean High School EE book, ‘environmental science’, learning for some concepts(succession, material cycling, niche etc.) has pointed out as one of problems. Environmental educators must pay a careful attention to the concepts that showed high rates of incorrect answer and this work will contribute toward consolidating the basis of EE and help the accomplishment of the ultimate goals in EE.

다중 표상을 활용한 화학 개념 학습에서 학생들의 장독립성-장의존성에 따른 연계 오류 분석 (Analysis of Connection Errors by Students' Field Independence-Dependence in Learning Chemistry Concepts with Multiple External Representations)

  • 이 연구에서는 학생들이 현재의 과학 교과서에서 화학 개념 학습을 위해 제시된 외적 표상들을 연계하는 과정에서 범하는 오류 유형을 학생들의 장독립성-장의존성에 따라 조사했다. 1개 중학교 1학년 학생 196명을 '보일의 법칙'을 학습하는 BL 집단과 '샤를의 법칙'을 학습하는 CL 집단으로 배치한 후, 장독립성-장의존성 검사를 실시했다. 각 집단 학생들에게 물질의 입자성이 강조된 글과 그림으로 해당 개념을 학습하게 한 후, 연계 과정 검사를 실시했다. 연구 결과, '불충한 연결', '부적절한 연결', '무분별한 연결', '불가능한 연결', '연결 불이행'의 5가지 연계 오류 유형이 나타났다. 이 중에서도 목표 개념과 관계없이 '연결 불이행', '부적절한 연결', '무분별한 연결'이 많이 나타났다. 장독립적 학생들과 장의존적 학생들이 범한 연계 오류의 빈도 사이에는 통계적으로 유의미한 차이가 없었다. 이에 대한 교육적 함의를 논의했다.

수학 교과에서의 집단탐구식 수업 방법에 관한 고찰 (A Study on the Exploratory Learning in Groups Method in Mathematics Education)

  • The 7th Curriculum emphasizes that in mathematics classes, mathematical concepts be understood and mathematical problems be solved through student's own exploratory activities including the use of data, manipulatives, andtechnological devices. Following the main idea of the Seventh Mathematics Curriculum, this paper dealt with instructional methods applied suitably and effectively in mathematics classes, and focused on the 'exploratory learning in groups' method in mathematics education. For this purpose, this paper reviewed and summarized theories related to general pedagogy and of mathematics education. Based on the results, it investigated appropriate instructional methods in mathematics education. In particular, this paper focused on studying the exploratory learning method while investigating its properties and understand- ing the relationship between the 'exploratory learning in groups' method and the discussion-centered method. Finally, in order to show the usefulness of the exploratory learning method, this paper developed an example of a teaching module using the exploratory learning method in addition to discussion and lecture-centered methods by the use of manipulatives. The main goal of the module was to make students understand the principle of multiplication of integers.

Linear Decentralized Learning Control for the Multiple Dynamic Subsystems

  • The new field of learning control devleops controllers that learn to improve their performance at executing a given task, based on experience performing this task. the simplest forms of learning control are based on the same concepts as integral control, but operating in the domain of the repetitions of the task. This paper studies the use of such controllers ina decentralized system, such as a robot with the controller for each link acting independently. The basic result of the paper is to show that stability of the learning controllers for all subsystems when the coupling between subsystems is turned off, assures stability of the decentralized learning in the coupled system, provided that the sample time in the digital learning controller is sufficiently short.

중학교 과학과 토의 학습을 위한 자료개발과 적용 효과 - 힘과 운동 개념을 중심으로 - (The Effects and the Development of Learning Materials for the Discussion in Science Classes of the Secondary School - Focussing on the Concepts of Force and Motion -)

  • The purpose of this study was to develop learning materials for the discussion and examine the effects of the discussion learning over the students' conceptual change on force and motion. The subjects consisted of 360 middle school students, comprising of 5 discussion groups of 185 students and 5 traditional learning groups of 175 students. The results indicated that students in the discussion groups showed higher achievement than those in the traditional learning groups. Therefore this study supported the importance of discussion in conceptual change. However further research should be conducted to examine other educational effects of discussion.
