  • When spatially dense velocity distribution is measured by a scanning laser Doppler vibrometer, the Fourier transform method provides the real and imaginary parts of the mode shapes in the form of a polynomial. However the Fourier transform method is often impractical because the independent decomposition property of cosine and sine components into real and imaginary parts, respectively, does not hold due to the leakage problem which commonly occurs in the Fourier transform of harmonic signals. To deal with this problem, a Hilbert transform method is newly proposed in this article. The proposed method is free from the leakage problem and relatively robust to tire scanning error. A simulation example is provided to verify the effectiveness of this method.

  • In this study, five experiments were carried out, with an orifice located downstream of a fan in case I where upstream duct length is 6 D, and that in the downstream is 4 D and different downstream distance to the fan in the rest, so as to determine the optimal location of the orifice and reduce the duct length of airflow measurement device. The resulting flow rate-pressure drop correlations were found to satisfy the limitation of SMACNA standard, which specified an error of $\pm7.5\%$ based on the real flow rate. Also, the best one of five. cases was achieved with the orifice located midway of the orifice duct four times its diameter long.

The resulting flow rate-pressure drop correlations were found to satisfy the limitation of SMACNA standard, which specified an error of ${\pm}7.5%$ based on the real flow rate. The best outcome was achieved with the orifice located midway of the orifice duct 4 times its diameter long.

  • This study is about a retrograde triple well employed in the Cell tr. of next DRAM and flash memory. Triple well structure is formed deep n-well under the light p-well using MeV ion implantation. MeV P implanted deep n-well was observed to show greatly improved characteristics of electrical isolation and soft error. Junction leakage current, however, showed a critical behavior as a function of implantation and annealing conditions. {311} defects were observed to be responsible for the leakage current. {311} defects were generated near the R$\_$p/ (Projected range) region and grown upward to the surface during annealing. This is study on the defect behavior in device region as a function of implantation and annealing conditions.

  • The objective of this study was to conduct a radiation shielding analysis for the facility equipped with radiation generator. The analysis was carried out in two aspects. First, from the aspect of the effect caused by primary and leakage radiation. Second, effect of scattered radiation was evaluated by applying a simple calculation method based on a scattering rate concept since effect of scattered radiation is significantly important at maze entrance of the radiation facility. The calculated results obtained using the simple method were compared to the results calculated using Geant4 code and the measured values. The results calculated by the suggested method indicate that slight error exists in a radiation shielding analysis done at the maze entrance comparing to other two results, while the results evaluated at the outside of the maze entrance door are relatively consistent with other values.

  • This paper has presented the design and fabrication of phase correlator for wideband digital frequency discriminator (DFD) operating over the 6.0 to 18.0 GHz frequency range. Fabricated DFD phase correlator has been measured I or Q output signal, and analyzed frequency discrimination error. The operation of the proposed mixer type correlator has been analyzed by deriving some analytic equations. To design the phase correlator, this paper has modeled and simulated IQ mixer and 8-way power divider by using RF simulation tool. Designed phase correlator has fabricated and measured. The phase error and frequency discrimination error have been presented using by measured I and Q output signal. Over the 6.0~18.0 GHz range, the root mean square(RMS) phase error is $4.81^{\circ}$, RMS and frequency discrimination error is 1.49 MHz, RMS.

  • We have developed an absolute evaluation method to obtain the ratio error and phase displacement of a current transformer (CT) without any precise standard CT by measuring four parameters in a CT equivalent circuit. The excitation admittance in the CT equivalent circuit can be obtained by employing standard resistors with negligible reactive component. The secondary leakage impedance in the CT equivalent circuit can be measured using a universal impedance bridge. The method was applied to CTs under test with the wide current ratios in the range of 5 A / 5 A - 5,000 A / 5 A and 5 A / 1 A - 5,000 A / 1 A. The ratio error and phase displacement of the CT under test obtained in this study are consistent with those measured at the national institute in Canada using the same CT under test within an expanded uncertainty (k = 2) in the overall current ratios.

  • In this study, the leak signal was measured by using an accelerometer to analyze the basic data and methodology for the development of the leak point estimation method in the water supply pipe. The measured results were analyzed by frequency analysis and cross-correlation analysis for leakage signals, and the error range was compared and analyzed with the actual leak point distance. As a result, it was confirmed that the vibration intensity due to leakage from the water leakage point was attenuated according to the distance. In the case of the ductile iron casting used in the experiment, the intensity of the signal at the 945 Hz, 1,500 Hz, 2,300 Hz band was increased with the change of the pressure in the pipe at 4mm of leakage hole. Also, it was confirmed that as the water pressure increases, the intensity of the leak signal increases but the similarity of the signal decreases. The results of this study confirm that the accelerometer sensor can be used efficiently for leak detection and it can be used as a basic data for the analysis for the development of leak point estimation method in the future.

  • This paper dealt with the deterioration characteristics and an on-line diagnosis equipment for SPDs (surge protective devices). An accelerated aging test was carried out using a $8/20{\mu}s$ standard lightning impulse current to analyze the changes of electrical characteristics and to propose the diagnostic parameters and the criterion for deterioration of ZnO varistor which is the core component of SPDs. Based on the experimental results, an on-line diagnosis equipment for SPD was fabricated, which can measure the total leakage current, reference and clamping voltage. The leakage current measurement circuit was designed using a low-noise amplifier and a clamp type ZCT. A linear controller, the leakage current measurement part and a HVDC were used in the measurement of reference voltage. The measurement circuit of clamping voltage consisted of a surge generator and a coupling circuit. In a calibration process, measurement error of the prototype equipment was less than 3%.

  • The adhesive-tape of a liquid leak film sensor including the alarm system is developed. The sensing film is composed of three layers such as base film layer, conductive line layer, and protection film layer. The thickness of film is 300~500 um, the width is 3.55 cm, and the unit length is 200 m. On the conductive line layer, three conducting lines and one resistive line are formulated by the electronic printing method with a conducting ink of silver-nano size. When a liquid leaks for the electricity to be conducted between the conductive line and the resistive line, the position of leakage is monitored by measuring the voltage varied according to the change of resistance between two lines. The error range of sensing position of 200 m film sensor is ${\pm}1m$.
