Effects of Employees' Job Characteristics, Commitment, and Self-Leadership on Organizational Citizenship Behavior

  • Purpose - This study reveals antecedent factors to help develop expressway rest areas in which employees were exposed to inferior environments, using Hackman and Oldham's Job Characteristics Theory. Research design, data, and methodology - The survey was conducted on 148 expressway rest area employees in Gyeonggi-do. After excluding questionnaires with invalid responses, 141 questionnaires were analyzed. Results - The sub-factors of job characteristics had a positive influence on the organizational commitment of employees, and organizational commitment had a positive influence on organizational citizenship behavior (OCB). Further, the results of mediation effects showed that organizational commitment and self-leadership were partially mediated. Finally, the results of the moderation effect of self-leadership showed that self-leadership was thought to be vital to let members endeavor to promote the competitiveness of expressway rest areas. Conclusions - The expressway rest area company needed to design jobs to let employees be self-motivated, productive, positive, responsible, and aspirational; job redesign, including job enrichment and job enlargement can be considerably helpful for affirmative influence.

국내 간호대학생의 셀프리더십 관련변인에 대한 체계적 문헌고찰 및 메타분석 (Variables related to self-leadership of Korean nursing students: A systematic review and meta-analysis)

  • Purpose: This study considers the variables related to self-leadership of Korean nursing students and verifies the results of precedent studies through meta-analysis. Methods: This study selected a total of 48 precedent studies regarding the investigation of the correlation between variables related to self-leadership of nursing students conducted between 2009 and 2019 and carried out a meta-analysis. Results: For the effect size of variables related to self-leadership of nursing students, individual characteristics had a medium effect size (ESr=.49) and the effect size was larger for meta-cognition (ESr=.65), emotional intelligence (ESr=.58), and self-efficacy (ESr=.54). The characteristics of nursing competency (ESr=.45) also had a medium effect size and the effect size was larger for professional self-concept (ESr=.60), social support (ESr=.58), and critical thinking (ESr=.56). This result shows that individual characteristics were highly correlated with self-leadership compared to the characteristics of nursing competency. Conclusion: This study is significant in that it verified the effect of variables related to self-leadership and presented the direction and preliminary data for a follow-up study. It is necessary to include variables considering individual characteristics in the development of an educational program for improving self-leadership in the future.

  • 우수한 정보과학분야 인재의 필요성은 누구나 공감하지만 아무리 정보과학분야의 인재가 지적이고 창의적인 사고력을 활용하여 첨단이론을 정립하고 정보통신 시스템을 설계하고 구현할 지라도 리더로서의 역할을 수행하지 못한다면 정보과학영재교육의 궁극적인 목표를 달성할 수 없을 것이다. 따라서 정보과학영재의 지적 능력 및 창의성 신장과 더불어 이제는 정보과학영재의 리더십 신장에 대한 관심과 교육이 필요한 시점이다. 정보과학영재교육에 있어 리더십 교육은 교육목표로서 포함되어 있으나 그동안 정보과학영재의 특성을 반영한 정보과학영재를 위한 별도의 리더십 교육과정과 프로그램 등에 관한 연구는 미비한 실정이다. 본 논문에서는 초등정보과학영재의 특성을 반영한 리더십 교육과정을 설계하였다. 초등정보과학영재를 위한 리더십 교육과정에 대한 연구가 아직은 부족한 실정으로 본 논문의 교육과정을 설계하기 위해 정보과학영재의 특성과 교육목표에 대한 기존연구와 리더십 교육에 대한 기존 연구를 분석하여 도출한 시사점을 초등정보과학영재를 위한 리더십 교육과정 설계 시에 적용하였다. 또한 설계된 교육과정의 타당성을 검증하기 위하여 전문가 집단을 선정한 후에 델파이 조사를 실시하였다.

  • This study aimed to clarify the relationships among the characteristics of consumers and their influence on fashion leadership. Two kinds of variables were investigated in this study: centrality of visual product aesthetics and consumer innovativeness as personal characteristics, and role-relaxed consumption and consumer susceptibility to interpersonal influence as interpersonal characteristics. Data were gathered by surveying university students in the Seoul metropolitan area, using convenience sampling, and 322 questionnaires were used in the statistical analysis. In analyzing data, correlation analysis, factor analysis, and regression analysis were conducted. Factor analysis on the centrality of visual product aesthetics revealed three sub-factors: value, acumen, and response intensity. Meanwhile, factor analysis for consumer susceptibility to interpersonal influence revealed two sub-factors: informative and normative conformities. However, consumer innovativeness, role-relaxed consumption, and fashion leadership revealed only one factor. Regression analysis showed that visual product aesthetics, especially acumen and response intensity, were the most influential factors; furthermore, consumer innovativeness and normative conformity had positive influence on fashion leadership. However, role-relaxed consumption had negative influence on fashion leadership.

매스미디어 활용이 메이크업 및 패션제품의 유행선도력에 미치는 영향 (The Effect of Mass Media on Fashion Leadership of Make-up and Fashion Products)

  • This study aims to examine the effect of mass media on fashion leadership of make-up and fashion products. The subjects of the study were 168 women consumers who lived in Seoul. Data were collected during September in 2003. Statistical analyses used in this study were frequency, Cronbach's $\alpha$, ANOVA, Duncan test, t-test, and multiple regression. The results of this study were as follows; 1. As a result of multiple regression for the effect of mass media on fashion leadership of make-up, there was a significant effect of movies on fashion leadership of make-up. 2. As a result of multiple regression for the effect of mass media on fashion leadership of fashion product, there were significant effects of magazines, internet, and movies on fashion leadership of fashion product. 3. In regard to the effects of consumer characteristics on fashion leadership, there were significant effects of consumer characteristics on fashion leadership of make-up and fashion product.

  • 융복합 환경에서 창의성을 포함한 인적자원의 역량을 높이는데 기여할 수 있는 코칭리더십의 중요성이 부각되고 있다. 본 연구는 직무특성의 매개적 역할에 주목하여, 코칭리더십이 조직 효과성의 행동적 차원에 미치는 영향을 구조적 모델을 통해 검증하였다. 분석결과 리더의 코칭활동은 직무특성에는 정적, 이직의도에는 부적인 영향을 미치는 것으로 나타났다. 직무특성은 코칭리더십과 조직효과성 간의 관계에서 매개효과를 갖는 것으로 나타났는데, 특히 코칭리더십 자체가 조직시민행동에 직접적인 영향을 미치는 것이 아니며, 코칭 활동을 통해 조직구성원들의 직무에 대한 인식이 긍정적으로 형성될 때 조직시민행동을 증가시킬 수 있다는 점을 의미한다.

The Effect of College Counselors' Authentic Leadership and Ethical Leadership on Students' School Satisfaction

  • Teachers play a key role in influencing students' school lives, but many researchers have tried to improve school satisfaction in various aspects. And counselors are a special type of Chinese university teachers, and not only have the characteristics of university teachers, but also have daily administrative management functions related to students' school life. In this paper, we demonstrated the effect of college counselors' ethical leadership and authentic leadership on school satisfaction among Chinese university students. In addition, it also verified the mediating effect of organizational identification in this process. As a result of empirical analysis, ethical leadership have both positive effect on organizational identification and school satisfaction. Similarly, authentic leadership also have positive impact on organizational identity and school satisfaction. In addition, organizational Identification has a positive effect on school satisfaction. Furthermore, organizational identification has also been proven to mediate the relationship between both two types of leadership and school satisfaction. Finally, we found that authentic leadership was more influential than ethical leadership in increasing school satisfaction levels.

공기업 CEO의 리더십특성이 조직구성원의 리더신뢰수준과 조직유효성에 미치는 영향 (Effect of Characteristics of Public Enterprise CEOs' Leadership on the Leader Trust and Organizational Effectiveness of Organizational Members)

  • 본 연구는 공기업 CEO의 리더십특성이 조직구성원의 리더신뢰수준과 조직유효성에 미치는 영향을 시장형과 준시장형 공기업 14개회사를 중심으로 1,124명의 표본을 대상으로 조사하였는데 조사결과는 다음과 같다. (1) 리더의 개인적 배려가 신뢰수준에 영향을 미치고, (2) 변혁적 리더십과 거래적 리더십이 조직 유효성에 영향을 미치는 것으로 분석되어 가설이 채택되었다. 그리고 (3) 리더의 신뢰수준으로서의 계산적, 지식적, 동일화 요인이 조직 유효성의 직무만족과 조직몰입에 긍정적인 영향을 높이는 기제로 나타났으나, 신뢰수준에서 계산적 변수의 조직몰입은 기각되었다. 전체적으로 공기업 CEO 리더십 특성으로서의 변혁적, 거래적 리더십이 계산적, 지식적, 동일화 정도의 상호신뢰수준에 따른 조직 유효성에 미치는 영향검증 결과 동일화 기반에서의 조직몰입은 기각되고 그 외 요인은 긍정적인 기제로 채택되어 공기업 CEO의 리더십 특성에 적합한 기제임을 입증시켜 주었다.

간호대학생의 성격특성과 의사결정유형이 셀프리더십에 미치는 영향 (The Influence of Personality Characteristics and Decision Making Type on Self-Leadership of Nursing Students)

  • Purpose: This study aimed to examine the effects of personality characteristics and decision making type on the self-leadership of nursing students. Methods: The participants were 336 nursing students using a self-report questionnaire. Data were analyzed using a t-test, ANOVA, $Scheff{\acute{e}}$ test, Pearson correlation coefficients, and stepwise multiple regression. Results: There were significant positive correlations between self-leadership and extraversion (r=.50, p<.001), agreeableness (r=.22, p<.001), conscientiousness (r=.60, p<.001), openness to experience (r=.36, p<.001), and rational style (r=.47, p<.001). However the correlation between self-leadership and dependent style was significantly negative (r=-.11, p=.044). Conscientiousness (${\beta}$=.60, p<.001), extraversion (${\beta}$=.28, p<.001), and rational style (${\beta}$=.21, p<.001), openness to experience (${\beta}$=.18, p<.001), and degree of leadership level (${\beta}$=.10, p=.020) were identified as factors affecting self-leadership. The explanation power of this regression model was 50.0% and it was statistically significant (F=67.52, p<.001). Conclusion: The results of this study indicated that effective self-leadership programs should be developed by including conscientiousness, extraversion, openness to experience, and rational decision making.

A Study on the Development of Global Leadership Program Model

  • The objective of this study was to explore a specific method and strategy for 'Global Leadership Program Model' in order to enhance global leadership, which will emphasize the aspect of open mind and attitude toward diversity, cross-culture, communication, and global manner. This research explored the concept and characteristics of global leadership and competency based education, and analyzed effectiveness of satisfaction and participation on global leadership programs implemented in K University and analyzed the learners' recognition on the experience. Also, the research integrated the values of global leadership with the strategies of competency-based education, and finally developed 'Global Leadership Program Model'. As a result, 'Global Leadership Program Model' might be able to help students use knowledge and skill in various contexts, and serve in the community with responsibility. It is expected that students could be facilitated to perform task and role communicating with others, and they might know exactly what learning outcome they are required to establish and what standard is used to evaluate the performance, so that this environment might motivate them and encourage them to follow the learning process more effectively.
