Preventive Health Management Self-Efficacy related to Premature Labor (PHMSE-PL) scale for Korean women of childbearing age: instrument development and validation

  • Purpose: This study aimed to develop and examine the validity and reliability of a self-efficacy scale for preventive health management related to premature labor (PHMSE-PL) for women of childbearing age. Methods: Instrument development and validation were undertaken in three steps: conceptualization through a literature review and in-depth interviews, item generation and evaluation of content validity, and evaluation of construct validity and reliability. The content validity, factorial structure validity, and internal consistency reliability of the PHMSE-PL were evaluated, and cognitive interviewing was undertaken. Data were analyzed using confirmatory factor analyses, Cronbach's α, and 95% confidence intervals (CIs). Results: The content validity was assessed by experts and was strengthened through cognitive interviews with women of childbearing age. The PHMSE-PL comprised 34 items across five factors. The construct validity of the PHMSE-PL was supported. Cronbach's α for the total scale was .97 (95% CI=.96-.97). Conclusion: An evaluation of the psychometric properties of the PHMSE-PL scale found it to be a valid and reliable tool for women of childbearing age. The scale appears to be useful for women of childbearing age to self-assess their preventive health management self-efficacy related to premature labor and for health professionals to evaluate and promote women's preventive health management.

노인일자리전담기관 종사자의 감정노동과 조직몰입 : 자기효능감의 매개효과 (The Relationship between the Emotional Labor and the Organizational Commitment of Employees in Senior Employment Agencies : Mediating Effect of Self-efficacy)

  • 본 연구는 노인일자리전담기관의 종사자들을 대상으로 감정노동와 조직몰입의 관계, 그리고 자기효능감의 매개효과를 분석하였다. 대전과 충청 지역의 노인일자리전담기관 종사자 253명을 대상으로 설문조사를 진행하였다. SPSS와 AMOS 18.0 프로그램으로 빈도분석, 신뢰도분석 및 상관관계분석, 확인적 요인분석과 부트스트랩 검정 등을 실시하였다. 분석결과, 노인일자리전담기관 종사자의 감정노동이 조직몰입에 부적인 영향을 미치고 두 변수의 관계에서 자기효능감의 매개효과가 검증되었다. 분석결과와 기존 연구들을 검토하여 노인일자리전담기관 종사자의 조직몰입을 향상시킬 몇 가지 방안을 제안하고자 한다. 첫째, 종사자들의 조직몰입 향상을 위해 감정노동을 개선하기 위한 지침의 개발, 정기적인 점검과 교육, 관리자들의 적절한 조치 등이 요구된다. 둘째, 종사자들의 자기효능감을 높이기 위해 실무중심의 전문성 향상을 위한 교육의 실시, 윤리의식을 향상시킬 수 있는 교육과 행정의 지원, 정서지지 서비스의 제공 등이 필요하다.

노년기 생산적 활동과 심리적 안녕 (Productive Activities and Psychological Well-being in the Elderly)

  • The purpose of this study is to investigate productive activities effect on psychological well-being in the elderly. As people grow older, the level of physical function and psychological well-being is decreased. But We verified maintaining productive activities could make buffering effect on psychological well-being. And We investigate what kind of productive activities could effect on psychological well-being by gender. As a result, there were differences in self efficacy belief, life satisfaction and depression by age, education, absence of spouse, subjective economic status and physical function. Group activity and domestic labor had on affirmative effect on self efficacy belief in male and female elder. Learning activity had on positive effect on life satisfaction in female. Depression was negative influenced by voluntary activity and domestic labor in female and pay work, group activity and domestic labor in male.

임상간호사의 소진에 영향을 미치는 요인 - 감정노동을 중심으로 - (Factors Affecting the Burnout of Clinical Nurses - Focused on Emotional Labor -)

  • Purpose: This study was to identify the factors that influence the burnout of clinical nurses. Methods: Subjects were 279 nurses in 3 university hospitals at Seoul and Gyunggi province. Data were collected with self-administered questionnaires and analyzed using SPSS 16.0 by applying t-test, ANOVA, Pearson correlation, and Stepwise multiple regression. Result: There are significant differences between burnout and demographic characteristics, such as, age, marital status, education level, clinical career, and position. All variables except emotional labor were negatively correlated with burnout. The emotional labor was positively correlated with burnout. Job satisfaction, emotional labor, self-efficacy, and age had significant influence on nurses' burnout. The explained variances for burnout was 54.8% and job satisfaction was the most significant factor of burnout of nurses. Conclusion: Emotional labor is found to be a new factor that influences burnout. Therefore, it is necessary to establish new organizational culture through emotional education programs at the organizational level to reduce nurses' emotional labor.

Moderating Effect of General Self-Efficacy on the Relationship between Pregnancy Stress, Daily Hassles Stress, and Preterm Birth Risk in Women Experiencing Preterm Labor: A Cross-Sectional Study

  • Purpose: This study investigated the moderating role of general self-efficacy (GSE) on how stress caused by pregnancy and daily hassle affect the risk of preterm birth (PTB) in women experiencing preterm labor. Methods: This cross-sectional study included 196 pregnant women experiencing preterm labor before 37 weeks of gestation. We used IBM SPSS Statistics 27 and employed Hayes process macro version 4 (model 1) and hierarchical regression to analyze the moderating effect of GSE on the relationship between pregnancy stress, daily hassle stress, and PTB risk. Results: Stress caused by pregnancy and daily hassle was positively correlated to PTB risk (r = .54, p < .001; r = .25, p < .001, respectively). While GSE did not significantly correlate with pregnancy stress, it negatively correlated with daily hassle stress (r = - .19, p = .009). GSE significantly moderated the relationship between combined stressors and PTB risk. As GSE levels increased, escalation in PTB risk in response to increasing stress levels was a more pronounced, highlighting a complex interaction between higher GSE levels and response to escalating stress levels. This model accounted for 39.5% of the variance in the PTB risk. Conclusion: Higher GSE may amplify the impact of stress on PTB risk, rather than mitigate it, which suggests a more nuanced role of GSE in the stress response of pregnant women at risk of preterm labor. GSE should be considered in care strategies, and managing its impact on stress perception and responses in pregnant women is crucial.

간호사를 위한 감정코칭 프로그램이 회복탄력성, 감정노동, 자기효능감에 미치는 효과 (Effect of Emotional Coaching Program for Clinical Nurses on Resilience, Emotional Labor, and Self-efficacy)

  • Purpose: This study aimed to assess the effect of the emotional coaching program for hospital nurses. Methods: The study used a non-equivalent control group pretest-posttest design, and participants included 60 nurses (30 in the experimental group and 30 in the control group) who worked at a general hospital. The experimental group attended four sessions, one per week, with each session lasting two and a half hours. Collected data were analyzed using descriptive statistics, Fisher's exact test, χ2 test, t-test, paired t-test, and repeated measures ANOVA using SPSS WIN 23.0 program. Results: Significant differences were shown between the experimental and the control groups regarding emotional labor (F=68.40, p<.001), resilience (F=48.77, p<.001), and self-efficacy (F=15.31, p<.001). Conclusion: The emotional coaching program for nurses is useful for enhancing nurses' emotional labor management, resilience, and self-efficacy. In addition, this program may serve as a basis for providing emotional coaching to nurses in the future.

Development and effects of a webtoon education program on preventive self-management related to premature labor for women of childbearing age: a randomized controlled trial

  • Purpose: The purpose of this study was to develop a webtoon education program on preventive self-management related to premature labor (PSM-PL) for women of childbearing age, to evaluate its effects, and to assess the usability of webtoon education for women of childbearing age. Methods: The study design was a stratified randomized trial with repeated measures. The participants were Korean women of childbearing age (between the ages of 19 and 49 years), with 49 participants each. The preventive health management self-efficacy related to premature labor (PHMSE-PL) scale, the preventive self-management knowledge related to premature labor (PSMK-PL) scale, and usability of webtoon education were assessed. The intervention group read six episodes of the PSM-PL webtoon within 2 days after clicking an online link. The control group did not receive anything but was given the webtoon after the last measurement. To test the effect of the repeatedly measured variables, a generalized estimating equation model was used. Results: The experimental group had statistically significantly greater increases in PHMSE-PL and PSMK-PL scores from baseline to immediately after and 2 weeks later than the control group. The average score for usability of webtoon education was high (4.52; standard deviation, 0.62) on a scale of 1-5. Conclusion: This webtoon education program on PSM-PL was a feasible and acceptable program that increased self-efficacy and knowledge of preventive health management of premature labor in women of childbearing age. Future studies that adopt a webtoon format can be beneficial for childbearing women with other risk factors.

중국 프랜차이즈 종사원들의 감정노동이 직무탈진과 이직의도에 미치는 영향: 자기효능감의 조절효과를 중심으로 (The Effect of Emotional Labor on Burnout and Turnover intention of Employee in Chinese Franchise Companies: Focusing on Moderation Effect of Self-Efficacy)

  • 본 연구는 중국 프랜차이즈의 종사원들을 대상으로 감정노동이 직무탈진과 이직의도에 미치는 영향과 이들 관계에서 자기효능감에 대한 조절효과를 분석하였다. 이들 관계를 분석하기 위해 감정노동 → 직무탈진 → 이직의도의 매개효과분석과 감정노동이 직무탈진에 주는 영향을 종사원들의 자기효능감이 조절하는지에 대한 조절효과분석, 그리고 이들을 결합한 조절된 매개효과분석을 실시했다. 참가한 연구대상자는 중국 프랜차이즈 기업의 종사원들이며, 설문지는 총 1,500부를 배부하여 불성실한 응답자 98명을 제외한 1,412명의 응답내용을 분석에 사용하였다. 본 연구의 결론 및 시사점은 다음과 같다. 첫째, 감정노동은 직무탈진을 경유하여 이직의도에 영향을 주는 매개효과가 확인되었다. 중국프랜차이즈 종사원들이 조직 내에서 감정노동이 증가하면 직무탈진이 증가하고 직무탈진의 증가는 이직의도를 증가시켜서, 결국에 감정노동은 이직의도에 유의한 정의 영향을 준다는 것을 의미한다. 또한 감정노동이 직무탈진에 미치는 영향이 자기효능감의 값이 증가함에 따라 감소하는지를 분석했다. 둘째, 중국 프랜차이즈 종사자들의 감정노동이 증가하면 직무탈진이 증가하는데, 이러한 영향은 자기효능감의 값이 증가하면서 점점 감소되는 조절효과가 발생했다. 그리고 감정노동*자기효능감에 대한 상호항의 도입은 이직의도의 분산의 설명력을 추가로 1.0%만큼 유의적으로 증가시키는 것으로 나타났다. 이러한 조절효과는 중국 프랜차이즈 종사원들이 조직 내에서 감정노동을 경험하게 되면 직무스트레스로 인하여 직무탈진이 증가하는데, 종사원들의 자기효능감의 크기가 증가할수록 감정노동이 직무탈진에 미치는 영향은 오히려 줄어들게 된다. 셋째, 중국 프랜차이즈 종사자들의 감정노동이 직무탈진을 경유하여 결과적으로 이직의도를 증대시키는 양의 매개효과가 자기효능감에 의하여 조절되는 조절된 매개효과가 나타났다. 이러한 조건부 간접효과는 자기효능감의 값이 증가하면서, 감정노동이 직무탈진을 경유하여 이직의도에 영향을 주는 양의 매개효과가 점점 줄어드는 조절된 매개효과가 발생한다는 것을 보여준다. 본 연구의 시사점으로는 감정노동, 직무탈진, 이직의도에 영향을 미치는 조절변수인 자기효능감이 중요하므로, 중국 프랜차이즈로 진출하는 한국기업들은 종사원 채용시, 그리고 인사관리에서 자기효능감이 높은 직원을 채용하거나 자기효능감을 높일 수 있는 직원교육 프로그램을 개발하여 시행해야 할 것이다.

여대생의 직업의식에 영향을 미치는 요인: 부모의 영향을 중심으로 (A Study on Factors Influencing on Work Values of Female College Students: Focusing on Parental Effect)

  • The purpose of this study was to explore factors influencing on work values of female college students focusing on parental effect to enhance their participation in labor market. The respondents were asked to answer a questionnaire, and the collected 400 data were analyzed using SPSS 23.0. The results showed that the students and their parents had more leisure-oriented and extrinsic work values than labor-oriented and intrinsic work values. The labor-oriented and intrinsic work values appeared to be high in the group with experience of part time jobs, with high educated father or with middle household income. The influencing factors on college students' work values were parental work values, gender consciousness, self-efficacy and major. The results from this study suggest that parents of college students should be educated to change their work values.

지주막하강 수펜타닐과 뷰피바케인의 혼합 투여가 분만 제 1 기 산모의 진통 효과에 미치는 영향 (The Analgesic Efficacy and Side Effects of Subarachnoid Sufentanil-Bupivacaine on Parturients in Advanced Labor)

  • Background : Previous studies have proven beneficial in labor analgesia to use subarachnoid sufentanil(alone or with adjuvant) on parturients in early first stage of labor. We designed this prospective study to evaluate analgesic efficacy and side effects of subarachnoid sufentanil plus bupivacaine in women with cervical dilatation of 7 cm greater. Methods : This was an open-label, nonrandomized trial of 32 parturients in late first stage labor who requested labor analgesia. After signing the consent form each patient received subarachnoid sufentanil (10 ${\mu}g$) and bupivacaine (2.5 mg). Patients were asked to rate their verbal pain score (0-10 scale) before regional anesthesia and 5 minutes after subarachnoid injection, and every 20 minutes thereafter until delivery or request for additional analgesia. Blood pressure, pruritus, Bromage motor block score, mode of delivery and need for supplemental analgesics were recorded. Results : Thirty women were included in the study. Mean pain scores (mean${\pm}$SD) were $8.7{\pm}1.0$ pre-spinal, $0.7{\pm}1.5$ 5 minutes post-injection, and remained less than 5 for 130 minutes after spinal injection. Of 30 patients, 24 had unassisted vaginal delivery, 4 instrumental vaginal delivery (vacuum), and 2 cesarean delivery. Of 28 patients who delivered vaginally, 19 did not require supplemental analgesics and had a delivery pain score of 5 or lower. Blood pressure decreased in three patients after spinal analgesia (p<0.05), which necessitated treatment. The Bromage motor block score was 0 in 26 patients and 1 in 4 patients. Pruritus was noted in 22 patients. Conclusion : Subarachnoid sufentanil-bupivacaine provides rapid analgesia for an effective duration of approximately 130 minutes in parturients in late first stage of labor.
