This paper presents an innovative load management technique that can effectively lower the summer peak load by adjusting the aircondition loads through smoothe coordinations between utility companies and large customers. An intelligent hierarchical load management system composed of a Central Intelligent Load Management System(CIMS) and multiple Local Intelligent Management Systems(LIMS) is also proposed to implement the reposed technique. Upon receiving a load curtailment request from the utilities, CIMS issues tokens, which can be used by each LIMS as a right to turn on the airconditioner. CIMS creates and maintains a queue for fair allocation of the tokens among the LIMS demanding tokens. By adjusting the number tokens and queue management Policies, desired load factors can be achieved conveniently. The Markov Birth and Death Process and the Balance Equations are employed in estimating various queue performances. The proposed technique is tested using a summer load data of a large apartment complex and proved to be quite effective in load management while minimizing the customer inconveniences.

The Korea Institute of Ocean Science and Technology has acquired detailed biological, chemicophysical, and geological data in the northeastern Pacific through a manganese nodule program since 1983. Plenty of manganese nodules were collected to estimate the amount of resources by free-fall grab and box corer. The collected manganese nodules have been archived systematically in the rock and mineral storage section of the Library of Marine Samples (LIMS) since 2012. The LIMS provides essencial information on the stored samples including sample name, nodule type, sampling location, depth, and equipment. Although a high quality database of the information system is under construction, the samples have tagged information for manganese nodules like chemical composition, morphology, weight, size, abundance, and photograph. In this study, we attempted to provide information on the well-organized and easily accessible archived manganese nodule samples for future studies and to introduce the usefulness of the LIMS.

생물학적으로 의미 있는 결과를 도출하기 위해서는 많은 실험 데이터가 필요하다. 최근에는 마이크로 어레이 실험 기술이 발달함에 따라 대량의 데이터를 얻을 수 있게 되었고, 이로 인해서 데이터를 체계적으로 관리하고 필요한 정보를 습득할 수 있는 시스템이 필요하게 되었다. LIMS(Laboratory Information Management System) 는 이러한 요구 조건을 충족시키기 위한 시스템으로 기존의 파일 시스템에 의존해서 비효율적으로 실험 데이터를 관리해 오던 것을 체계적이고 효율적으로 관리해 주기 위한 시스템이다. 대량의 유전자 발현 데이터의 생산은 유전자의 조절 네트워크 예측을 가능하게 하였다. 유전자간의 상호 작용을 분석하는 것은 세포의 활동을 이해하는데 매우 중요한 요소라고 할 수 있다. 본 논문에서는 기존의 LIMS 기능과 유전자 조절 네트워크 분석 시스템을 통합하여 사용자가 쉽게 데이터를 공유 및 습득할 수 있으며 편리한 사용자 인터페이스를 이용하여 컴퓨터에 익숙하지 않은 실험들도 쉽게 사용할 수 있는 GELIM(an Integrated system with GEnetic network analyzer and LIMs) 을 소개한다.

마이크로어레이 기술로 인해 많은 양의 유전자 발현 데이터가 생겨났다. 데이터의 양이 많아짐에 따라 이를 체계적으로 관리해야 할 필요가 생겼고 이를 위해 LIMS(Laboratory Information Management System)가 만들어졌다. LIMS는 실험 데이터를 체계적으로 관리할 뿐만 아니라 같은 실험실에 있는 연구자 간에 데이터를 공유할 수 있는 장점을 갖고 있다. 만일 여러 연구실 간에 공동연구를 한다면 데이터의 공유가 필요하게 된다. 이를 좀 더 편리하게 하기 위해 다른 연구실의 LIMS에 저장된 데이터 중에 허용된 데이터에 한해서 자신의 LIMS에서 바로 접근할 수 있도륵 하는 분산 LIMS를 소개하고자 한다.

기존 수입 수산물 검역체계는 수십억의 예산을 사용하고 있다. 하지만, 현지 조사에서도 파견원을 보내는 시간이 존재하고 그에 따라 수산물의 상태가 달라질 수 도 있다. 이 논문에서는 이러한 검역체계의 한계를 극복하기 위하여 차량 내부에 장비를 설치 데이터를 분석 후 Server에 전송하는 시스템을 제안한다. 이 시스템을 사용하여 기존 검역체계의 단점을 보완한다. 그리고 베트남을 예상 시나리오로 설정하고 계획을 하였다. 이 시스템은 시간, 공간적인 제약을 극복하고 실시간 상호작용이 원활한 시스템으로 마련될 것이다.

In laser ionisation mass spectrometry (LIMS) atoms and molecules which are desorbed from solid surfaces are ionised by an intense laser beam. The photoions which are created are then mass analysed in a time-of-flight mass spectromenter. In best situations, 10% of the ejected particles can be detected, giving the technique^g , pp b sensitivity. Since the ionisation and desorption steps are separated, matrix effects are minimised, in contrast to competitor techniques like SIMS, so quantitation is improved. The talk will illustrate the application of LIMS to basic studies in sputtering in Sr, Cu3Au(100) and Ni3Al(100) as well as ultratrace analysis of Zr in Si.

Once the required amount of the power reduction is set, CIMS issues tokens, which can be used by each LIMS as a right to turn on the airconditioner. CIMS creates and maintains a queue for fair and proper allocation of the tokens among the LIMS requesting tokens. By adjusting the number tokens and queue management policies, desired power reduction can be achieved smoothly. The Markov Birth and Death process and the Balance Equations utilizing the Diffusion Model are employed for evaluation of queue performances during transient periods until the static balances among the states are achieved. The proposed technique is tested using a summer load data of a large apartment complex and give promising results demonstrating the usability in load management while minimizing the customer inconveniences.

This paper presents a virtual instrumentation(VI) system for LIMs performance on-line monitoring. The VI is designed using the graphical programming language LabVIEW and is capable of performing on-line measurement functions, including data acquisition, display, and analyses in the time and frequency domains, as well as data archiving. To monitor in real time the steady-state and transient electromagnetic thrust of LIMs, the search coil is used for the determination of the flux linkage components, which is then multiplied by the appropriate current components to yield a signal proportional to the electromagnetic thrust. This paper reports the LIM's dynamics measured by the proposed on-line monitoring system.

2000년 7월 인간게놈프로젝트 (Human Genome Project)가 완성되면서 Biotechnology(BT)산업에 대하여 많은 관심이 집중되고 있다. BT산업은 기술집약적·지식집약적인 산업 특성을 가지고 있고 R&D 활동의 중요성이 두드러진다. 이에 따라 방대한 데이터와 지식에 대한 효율적인 관리 등 R&D 전 과정에 걸쳐 생성되는 지식들에 대한 체계적인 관리가 요구된다 본 연구에서는 BT산업의 기초 조직인 BT연구실의 효과적이며 효율적인 업무 수행을 지원하기 위하여 기존의 지식경영시스템(Knowledge Management System, KMS)에 실험실정보관리시스템(Laboratory Information Management System, LIMS)이 통합된 BT실험실의 지식경영시스템 모델을 제시하였다. 이를 위해 BT연구실에서 생성되는 지식들의 체계를 분류하고 지식경영시스템 구축에 있어서의 핵심성공요인을 분석하였으며, 분석 결과를 바탕으로 모델을 개발하여 대학교 유전자 연구실에 실제 적용하였다.

The input voltage of linear induction motors (LIMs) driven by inverter, involves the time harmonics. Therefore the equivalent circuit for an inverter-fed LIMs has to be modified to represent every harmonic in supply voltage. In this paper, the equivalent circuit with considering harmonics is composed. Each parameters of the equivalent circuit obtained by static test are presented. The characteristics of LIM is reviewed by composed equivalent.
