Equivalent Circuit Constants and Characteristics Calculation of LIM by Lock test (구속시험에 의한 선형 유도 전동기의 등가회로 정수 산정 및 특성 계산)

  • The equivalent circuit of linear induction motor is generally expressed as the same that of rotary induction motor. However, it is almost impossible to perform the no-load test for LIM, because it needs a special equipment for synchronous speed. Therefore, a new method is reqnired to calculate the performance of the LIM without the no-load test. In this paper, The new method which does not need no-load test for the chanracteristics analysis of LIM is proposed. The equivalent circuit of LIM is chosen and the method if determining its constants from results of the lock test is discussed. The calculated results were satisfied by compare with experimental and conventional method results.

  • The thrust control characteristics of single-sided linear induction motor (SLIM) is achieved using PI controller in this paper. The trembling of air gap length between the primary winding and the secondary structure of the SLIM must be minimized in order to get quick response results. Also, the input voltage of SLIM is involved with the time harmonics because most SLIM is driven by inverter. According to the feedback linear control system, this paper describes with applying the non-linear control, speed and estimated flux algorithm. At the result of this experiment, we reached to the improvement of thrust characteristics with PI controller.

  • In this paper, the experimental unit of the cross inductive radio line and two linear induction motors driven by IGBT inverter for train control was made. In actual condition, the track has straight line, but so as to be able to achieve in small space, the unit prepared was shaped into two circular plates. Then by detecting inductive signal, the position data could be obtained. Also the equipment representing speed and thrust of LIM and train position by means of the experimantal unit could be composed.

  • In these days, it is widely applications of Linear Induction Motor(LIM) that used propulsion system of maglev and LIM Car. elevator. conveyor system, servo system, etc. The calibration method for, performance of LIM is more difficult than static state of one. Then we made testing system to measurement for dynamic performance of LIM and deal with data acquisition board on PC system. We try to get for the data measuring that is thrust force, braking force versus speed(r.p.m. or time) and current, voltage, frequency versus speed.

  • This paper proposes a novel analysis method on the driving performance of LIM (linear induction motor) by FEM (finite element method). First, a linear model was converted with a rotation model to perform the dynamic analysis for a long time. Through the FEM model, the slip parameter for the control algorithm could be induced effectively. The LIM for the traction system was performed at a constant V/f in the region of constant torque, and a constant V and variable f in the region of constant power. Several slip characteristic curves according to the voltage and frequency were calculated by FEM in advance. The driving performance was then induced by interpolating the slip characteristic curves according to the load of the vehicle.

  • In this study, the characteristic equation of a double sided short stator linear induction motor, referred to as LIM excited by equivalent current sheet having linear current density was derived using Maxwell's electromagnetic field theory with its entry and exit, end effects taken into consideration. According to the treatment of several physical phenomena in the air-gap i.e. the magnetic flux density distributions, thrust-force, forward and backward travelling wave with decay, normal field, the fundamental data in this study are made reference to improve the characteristics of LIM, effectual electro-magnetic energy conversion devices.

  • A speed controller of a induction motor using Microcontroller and Fuzzy logic is presented in the paper. Generally, fuzzy logic controller is known as a controller which can be coped with a non-linear and a complex system. A fuzzy logic is used for robust and fast speed control and space vector modulation method is used for PWM wave generation in this proposed system. The results of experiment show excellence of the proposed system and that the proposed system is appropriate to control the speed of a induction motor for industrial application.

  • Recently, applications of electromagnetic forces in the molten metal delivery system like LIM(linear induction motor) have been developed because it is dangerous to deliver the molten metal. Therefore it is important to get the fundamental characteristics of LIM. In this paper, we analyzed about characteristics of LIM for molten metal transportation by 2D finite element method. Then we compares the characteristics of LIM for molten metal transportation according to parameters.

  • This paper presents the experiment and the characteristics analysis of an electromagnetic pump using linear induction motor(LIM). The characteristics of LIM pump are analyzed solving the hydrodynamic equation at constant magnetic flux. The molten zinc is used in the experiment and the experimental results are compared with the analysis.
