Using a sample of third grade middle school students from the forth wave of Children and Youth Panel Survey in 2012, the mediation effects of private educational expenditure between parenting styles and children's academic performance were investigated by applying factor, cluster, tobit, and two stage regression analysis. The major results were as follows. First, four types of parenting style were identified. The most frequent parenting style was ambivalent parenting (tiger parenting) which was followed by authoritative parenting. Second, compared to permissive parenting style, ambivalent, authoritative, and authoritarian parenting styles were significantly associated with more private educational expenditures. Third, more private educational expenditures were significantly associated with higher academic performance of children. I found both a full mediation effect of private educational expenditure for ambivalent and authoritarian parenting styles, and a partial mediation effect for authoritative parents. Authoritative parenting style has a negative moderating effect on the relationship between household income and private educational expenditure, along with a positive direct effect on the academic performance of children. The results suggested that an authoritative parenting style was related with higher academic performance of children with less private educational expenditures compared to other parenting styles. The results also implied that the public policies to enhance authoritative parenting style among parents would be effective to reduce household's private educational expenditures.

In Scythian art the multitude of animal representations well illustrates the preoccupation of this nomadic people with animals in their environment. Usually only wild animals are represented. The purpose and meaning of the animal motifs used in Scythian ornaments appears that in some cases the work was intended to be purely ornamental, while many times the motifs had symbolic meaning (such as the successful dominance of the aggressor over the victim portrayed in the attack scenes). Following earlier Scythian migrations, Sarmatian animal-style art is distinguished by complex compositions in which stylized animals are depicted twisted or turned back upon themselves or in combat with other animals. Without copying nature, they accurately conveyed the essence of every beast depicted. Purpose: This study sought to examine the symbolization of brand identity in Nike golf advertisements and to provide implications for sporting goods ads. Research design, data, and methodology: The study employed Socher's semiotic theory to analyze characteristics embedded in Nike video advertisements. In specific, the study selected 'No cup is safe' among Nike video ads and analyzed structures of ad message and presented metaphors of ad messages. Results: As a study on the semiotic analysis of communication by case, this study investigated how the brand identity pursued by Nike in the advertisement is symbolized by identifying the signifier and signified in the advertisement. As a result of the study, it was possible to segment and analyze a total of 8 advertisement scenes, from the most important tee shot in golf, setting the aiming, sending to the center of the fairway, and applying the general situation of ball in and hole out to the cases of Tiger Woods and McIlroy, thereby helping the general public. Conclusions: Summary of above results showed that it was also conveying the message of metaphor and metonymy that 'I can be like Tiger Woods and McIlroy' by using Nike golf products. Further implications were discussed.

Wound care has become increasingly important over the years. Various synthetic products for wound care treatment have been reported to cause toxic side effects and therefore natural products are in significant demand as they have minimal side effects. The presence of bioactive compounds in medicinal mushrooms contributes to various biological activities which assist in the early inflammatory phase, keratinocyte proliferation, and its migration enhancement which are pertinent to wound rehabilitation. Lignosus rhinocerus (tiger milk mushroom) can reduce the inflammation phase in wound healing by fighting off bacterial infection and modulating pro-inflammatory cytokines expression in the early stage to avoid prolonged inflammation and tissue damage. The antibacterial, immunomodulating, and anti-inflammatory activities exhibited by most macrofungi play a key role in enhancing wound healing. Several antibacterial and antifungal compounds sourced from traditional botanicals/-products may prevent further complications and reoccurrence of injury to a wounded site. Scientific studies are actively underway to ascertain the potential use of macrofungi as a wound healing agent.

Tiger Beetles(Carabidae, Cicindelinae) were collected in the Province of Chollabukdo including some nearby islands from April 1997 to October 2002. The specimens of ca. 500 deposited in Sunchon National University, Chonbuk National University, the Jeju Folklore and Natural History Museum, and elsewhere were also examined. As a result, Korean Cicindelinae of 18 species from 10 subgenera is reported herein. Of these, Cicindela (Cylindera) obliquefasciata Adams, 1817 and Cicindeia (Cephalota) chiloleuca Fisher, 1820 are recorded newly in the Korean Peninsula. However, the distribution of C. japana is very doubtful in South Korea. This study also includes a key to the species, discussions on the habitats, distributions, and some ecological characteristics of Korean Cicindelinae.

This study analyzed a costume historic meaning of TANGUN Mythology. TANGUN Mythology have been transmitted from many literatures but TANGUN Mythology recorded Samgukyusa(II-Yun) is not false piece or a fiction. A Costume historic meaning of TANGUN Mythology was studied in the clothing system meaning of a headgear worn by nobles in court in the Chun-Boo-In three and meaning of bear and tiger. However results are not clear. In addition the Han stones of Wu Liang Tz'u relates to TANGUN Mythology but results also are not manifest.

This thesis is to study the original form of Buckles of our country in ancient times On the upper garment bound the leather belts that was hanged a hook that shaped of animal form at the end. The background of Buckles was originated from those northern mounted normadic groups which was Scythe style costume culture. In Korea through the antique records and tombs bequests the styles of Buckles was divided into three groups horse-shaped tiger-shaped bar-shaped Buckle. These styles were influened by scythe style and developed greatly and trasmitted to Japan.

Oxygen consumption of marine fishes according to different water temperatures, fish population densities and body weights was measured in the respiratory chamber for the following six species: the olive flounder Paralichthys olivaceus, the tiger puffer Takifugu rubripes, the rockfish Sebastes schlegeli, the sea bass Lateolabrax Japonicus, the red seabream Pagrus major and the black seabream Acanthopagrus schlegeli. Also the lethal concentration of dissolved oxygen in them was determined. Oxygen consumption in each fish species increased as the water temperature increased. The relationship between the oxygen consumption rate $(Oc,\;ml/kg{\cdot}\;hr)$ and the water temperature (T,$^{\circ}C$) for each species appeared as the following equations demonstrate; olive flounder: Oc=34.0515T-339.5987 $(r^2=0.9730)$, tiger puffer: Oc=34.4941T-479.8732 $(r^2=0.9483),$ rockfish: Oc=44.7970T-634.2627 $(r^2=0.9718),$ sea bass: Oc=26.1488T-318.0633 $(r^2=0.9316),$ red seabream: Oc=61.1020T-722.8926 $(r^2= 0.9805),$ black seabream: Oc=75.1460T-947.9370 $(r^2=0.9392).$ The of gen consumption of fish with different population densities decreased as the number of fish increased. As the body weight of the olive flounder increased, the mass-specific oxygen consumption decreased. The relationship between oxygen consumption and body weight (W; g) was expressed as Oc=2532.0268W-0.6565 $(r^2=0.9229)$. The levels of lethal dissolved oxygen in the olive flounder, rockfish, tiger puffer and red seabream were 0.66, 0.79, 0.75 and 1.36 m1/1, respectively.

지난 4월12일 인큐브테크가 Quark 6.5v을 발표했고 이 달 중순경 Mac OS X 10.4 'Tiger' 버전이 출시된다. 지난해 하반기에는 본체와 모니터가 결합된 일체형 컴퓨터 ‘G5'가 모습을 드러냈고 본격적인 시판에 들어갔다. 물론 이들은 Mac OS X에 맞춰 출시됐다. 이미 하드.소프트웨어가 호환성을 바탕으로 한 제 모습을 통해 동시에 움직이고 있는 것이다. 2000년대 초반까지 OS 9가 주축이 돼 있었지만 본격적인 OS X의 활약으로 점진적으로 축소될 것으로 보인다. 이는 바로 관련 S/W들이 이제는 선택에 의해 변화를 시도하는 차원이 아니라 필수 요소로 받아들이고 있는 것이다.
