The questionnaire were administered to 498 middle and high school boys and girls living in Seoul and the data were analyzed by Frquency, Factor Analysis, Pearson's Product Moment Correlation, ANOVA, Multiple Regression Analysis and Duncan test. The results of this study were as follows: 1) There were significant positive correlation between clothing behavior and adolescence egocentrism, self-consciousness whereas body cathexis generally were negatively related to clothing behavior. 2) Public self-consciousness and sex were the most influencial variables to clothing behavior among psychological characteristics and demographic variables. • A dolescence can be defined as the period between pubescence and physical maturity, and the passage through adolescence(age of 12-19) forms a critical period. Major developmental tasks of adolescence are construction of an emancipated identity, realistic ambitions, and reasonable ideals, and the further development of sexual and social identities. In early adolescence one struggles to adjust psychologically to the spurt in growth and tensions filled with sexual and aggressive impulses. There are reshuffling of peer groups due to differing rates of maturation, early adolescence crushes, sublimation of sexuality, and the resurgence of oedipal feelings. One reaches so-called period of formal operations in cognitive development. In mid-adolescence one struggles to overcome family attachments and controls, and it is a time marked by revolt and conformity. One has to overcome sexual repression while caught in reactivation of oedipal attachment. Peer groups gains in importance, and the peer group changes into a youth group that carries the youth culture. Late adolescence is a period of achieving an ego identity and capacities for intimacy. One has to prevent premature closure : Identity foreclosure limits both opportunity and the ability to guide one's own life. Gradually adolescent begins to have a loss self-centered and narcissistic orientation to one's sexual and affectional needs, and becomes involved in love relationship.

  • Objective: This study focused on the longitudinal associations between self-esteem and peer relationships in Korean adolescents while considering gender and timing-early and late adolescence-differences. Methods: The study made use of data from the Korean Children and Youth Panel Survey. Three waves of data collected from 2,351 adolescents were analyzed by means of autoregressive cross-lagged modeling. Results: The results indicated that self-esteem predicted subsequent changes in peer relationship but not vice versa. Further, the results that longitudinal associations between self-esteem and peer relationships differed between male and female adolescents and between early and late adolescence. Conclusion: The findings revaluated the longitudinal relationship between self-esteem and peer relationships. Both gender and timing should be considered when planning interventions related issues about self-esteem and peer relationships in adolescence.

  • The purpose of this study was to investigate moderating effect of posttraumatic growth between childhood-adolescence trauma and suicidal ideation. 151 adults in their 20's to 40's were utilized by analyzing moderated multiple regression. The major findings of this study were as follows ; First, the study showed significant relationship between childhood-adolescence trauma and suicidal ideation. To be specific, the more childhood-adolescence trauma increased, the more suicidal ideation increased. Second, the results presented that posttraumatic growth moderated relationship between childhood-adolescence trauma and suicidal ideation. The more childhood-adolescence trauma increased, the more suicidal ideation strongly increased in group of lower posttraumatic growth. Whereas, the more childhood-adolescence trauma increased, the more suicidal ideation mildly increased in group of higher posttraumatic growth. Based on these findings, it was suggested that intervention for people who have childhood-adolescence trauma and practical strategy for posttraumatic growth are needed in social welfare practice.

Methods: This study used a cross-sectional design. Data was collected from 233 girls aged 12~14 years with a self-reported questionnaire. With multiple regression analysis, the factors associated with the weight bias internalization of the girls in early adolescence were analyzed. Results: Of psychosocial factors, fear to fat (anti-fat attitude) (β=.43, p<.001) was associated with the weight bias internalization of the girls in early adolescence. In addition, attachment with teachers (β=-.11, p=.029) of an interpersonal factor and perceived socio-cultural pressure regarding weight control (β=.34, p<.001) of a contextual factor were associated with the weight bias internalization of the girls in early adolescence. Conclusion: For releasing the weight bias internalization of the girls in early adolescence, decreasing anti-fat attitude and socio-cultural pressure regarding weight control should be primarily required through social efforts including community and school based interventions.

A preliminary 32 item scale was developed through a literature review & a survey. 896 people responded to an online survey using the preliminary scale. A series of test, such as test-retest, item-to-total correlation, factor analysis and Cronbach' ${\alpha}$ reliability were conducted using the survey data and a scale comprising 31 items was constructed finally. The diagnostic scale for life planning in late Adolescence consisted of seven factors : (1) complete growth minds (2) life- plan (3) variety experiences (4) close relationships (5) management of healthy body (6) practical finance-plans (7) active preparation of future job. • Objective: The purpose of this study is to investigate the moderating role of Ego-Resilience between Peer Attachment and Mobile Phone Dependency in late adolescence. Methods: The participants were 2056 third year high school adolescents (1,041 boys and 1,015 girls) from the Korea Youth Panel Study (KYPS), a national representative of Korean Children and adolescence. Hierarchical Regression was used for data analysis. Results: First, the correlation between peer attachment, ego-resilience and mobile phone dependency were all significant. Second, ego-resilience takes the role of moderator for mobile phone dependency. In detail, ego-resilience relieves the mobile phone dependency caused by 'peer relationships' or 'conflict in peer relationships. Conclusion/Implications: Ego-resilience was found to control the relationship between peer attachment and mobile phone dependency. Therefore, in order to lower the dependence of mobile phones in adolescents with low peer attachment, a program that can enhance ego-resilience is needed.
