Since April 2012, doctor fish in the breeding tank and in the quarantine tank in Hanwha Aquaplanet Yeosu Aquarium have been dying, accompanied by diffuse bleeding around the mouth, in the chin, and at the bottom of the abdomen. In this study, the cause of death would be examined through the bacteriological study of doctor fish and the rearing water quality in the aquarium. The water quality and the bacterial counts of the rearing water in the exhibit tank and in the quarantine tank were analyzed once a week, starting from August to November 2014. Water quality was measured based on the following data: temperature was in the range of 24.5~26.8℃, pH at 6.77~7.94, DO at 6.15~8.61 ppm, ammonia at 0~0.93 ppm, nitrite at 0.009~0.075 ppm, and nitrate at 1.1~40.9 ppm. Studies revealed that the differences in these water quality factors were not related to the death of doctor fish. Bacterial counts in the rearing waters of Garra rufa slightly increased to 103~104 CFU/ml, just before the death of the doctor fish. Twelve strains of bacteria were isolated from the dead fish and rearing waters. The isolates were identified as Aeromonas veronii, Citrobacter freundii, Pseudorhodoferax aquiterrae, Shewanella putrefaciens, and Vibrio anguillarum on the basis of 16S rRNA gene sequences. The most dominant species was C. freundii, which showed medium sensitivity to florfenicol and norfloxacin, and was resistant to amoxacillin, doxycycline, oxytetracycline, tetracycline, and trimethoprim. Ten isolates were confirmed to be pathogenic to the doctor fish. Doctor fish infected with C. freundii and S. putrefaciens showed high mortality in the experimental groups. These results indicate that the variation in bacterial numbers in the rearing water was related to the death of doctor fish. C. freundii and S. putrefaciens were directly implicated in causing the death of doctor fish in the aquarium.

Purpose : This study examined the effect of a home visit cognitive training program that uses a tablet-based digital recognition rehabilitation application, Brain Doctor, on local elderly people's cognitive function and depression. Methods : This study featured 20 elderly people living in Busan Metropolitan City, South Korea, who received a voucher for a home visit service to prevent dementia. The subjects were evenly divided into an intervention group provided with Brain Doctor and a control group provided with a conventional cognitive training program. Korean version of Mini Mental State Examination (MMSE-K) and Korean version of Montreal Cognitive Assessment (K-MoCA) were used to assess cognitive function in each group. Patient Health Questionnaire-9 (PHQ-9) was used to evaluate the depression levels. Results : The intervention group showed a significant change in cognitive function and depression after the intervention (p<.05). There was a statistically significant change in cognitive function and depression between the intervention and control groups (p<.05). Conclusion : This study confirmed that Brain Doctor had a positive effect on the cognitive function and depression of elderly people in the local community. We recruited 277 students through school doctor program of Seongnam city in 2017. Male students are 66 in middle school, 32 in high school. Female students are 117 in middle school, 62 in high school. For pattern identification, we used the tool of Qui Xui Shui pattern identification in students. Students fill questionnaires in inquiry of pattern identification and Korean medicine doctor diagnosis inspection and palpation of students. Results : Among 277 students, no pattern identification were 114(41.2%). It appeared in the order of phlegm, blood deficinecy, qi deficiency, qi stagnation and qi reversal. Qi deficiency, qi stagnation, qi reversal, blood deficiency and phlegm pattern are statistically significant by gender except blood stagnation. of 277 students, 105 (37.9%) had one more pattern identification. Conclusions : This study showed possibility of Qui Xui Shui pattern for student health management. In the future, large scale follow up study will be needed to clarify the relationship of pattern identification and student's health.
This study was tried to evaluate the level of completeness and the accordance in electronic medical records by comparing paper-based medical record in doctor's admission records, discharge summary, and nursing information records. Medical records of inpatients of neurology department that the 100 paper-based medical records in 2004 and 100 electronic medical records in 2006 were targeted. Existence of record items and doctor-nurse record accordance were evaluated in doctor's admission record, discharge summary, admission nursing information record, and discharge nursing information record. There were not any differences between electronic medical records and paper-based medical records in doctor's admission record and discharge summary. Electronic medical records had less missing records than paper-based medical records in admission and discharge nursing information records. Objectives : This paper analyzes the exam paper titled, 'Is Traditional Chinese Medicine Just an Art?' of the Yixuetongzong(醫学統宗) to provide basis for research on regional physicians' examination in the Ming period. Methods : Cross examination, interpretation and content analysis of the exam paper were carried out. Results : This document is the examination paper that He Jian(何柬) submitted past the age of 40 at a regional examination for physicians that took place at the Duxue Wenyuan which is presumed to have been a regional education institute for medicine in Nanjing. While he had experience in anatomy, having been an army doctor when he was young, and was an experienced doctor who was an expert in acupuncture, it seems his goal to become a medical official at the royal medical center failed. He accumulated knowledge and experience as a Confucian doctor for more than 25 years under his teacher Pan Xiquan. It is unclear whether he had been educated at the regional medical education institute. Conclusion : The regional physicians' examination during the Ming period promoted test takers to learn both medical and Confucian knowledge quite thoroughly.
