The major findings of the study were as follows: 1) Wives had negative attitudes toward quality characteristics in the domain of food, but positive attitudes in the domain of clothes. They had positive attitudes toward time/labor saving characteristic, especially ready-made side dishes and dining-out, whereas negative attitudes toward money saving characteristic in the domain of food and clothes. 2) The level of market goods substitution of housework was influenced by the attitudes toward market goods characteristics.

  • There are many activities involved in promoting renewable energy technologies. These include governments, the renewable energy manufacturing and service industries, energy supply companies, investors, researchers, non-government organizations and customers. For a sustainable renewable energy market, finding a promising industry is essential. The industry has made significant progress in recent years, considering the fact that today's renewable energy market is relatively small. This paper analyses the technology market of renewable energy, focusing on photovoltaic system, fuel cell, wind system. It appears that there has been remarkable progress in renewable energy systems. Besides, developed countries are effectively increasing the share of niche market and promoting renewable energy worldwide.

  • This paper presents an approach to solve the long-term generation expansion planning problem of the restructured electricity industry using an agent-based environment. The proposed model simulates the generation investment decisions taken by a particular agent (i.e. a generating company) in a market environment taking into account its competitors’ strategic investment. The investment decision of a particular company is modeled taking into account that such company has imperfect foresight on the future system development hence electricity prices. The delay in the construction of new plants is also explicitly modeled, in order to compute accurately the yearly revenues of each agent. On top of a conventional energy market, several capacity incentive mechanisms including capacity payment and capacity market are simulated, so as to assess their impact on the investment promotion for generation expansion. Results provide insight on the investment cycles as well as dynamic system behavior of long-term generation expansion planning in a competitive electricity industry.

  • Purpose - The purpose of the study is to promote the adoption of traditional liquor product contents in order to revitalize the market and to increase consumer awareness of traditional liquor. Research design, data, methodology - In this study, the 4P relationship model was evaluated that included the self-supporting business of traditional liquor, continuous business, diversification of the types of the liquor, and discovery of preliminary social enterprises for the distribution of the liquor. Results - The study suggested a 4P relationship model that consisted of traditional liquor as the product, traditional market as the place, promotion within traditional market, and payment of labor costs. In other words, selection of the traditional liquor product, place, rental supports, distribution and delivery strategies, operations, public relations and training, foundation of social enterprises, and discussion between departments. Conclusions - The central government, local governments, and merchants (the market association) should actively cooperate with each other to revitalize the market for traditional liquor. Social enterprises that rely on a non-profit business model are likely to revitalize the traditional liquor market.

  • Transmission congestion is one of the Key factor to local market power in competitive electricity markets. Financial transmission rights provide the financial protection to their holders by paying back the congestion cost. However, the market participants who have market power can exacerbate their market power. This paper analyzes the effect of exercising local market power with the rights on the market price. The proposed methodology was demonstrated with the Optimal Power Flow(OPF). Case study is fulfilled by GAMS simulation. The simulation are condusted in case of Nodal Pricing.

  • Measuring market fear is an important way of understanding fundamental economic phenomena related to financial crises. There have been several approaches to measure market fear or panic level in a financial market. Recently, herd behavior has gained its popularity as important economic phenomena explaining the fear in the financial market. In this paper, we investigate herd behavior in global stock markets with a focus on intercontinental comparison. While various risk measures are available for the detection of herd behavior in the market, we use the standardized herd behavior index in Dhaene et al. (Insurance: Mathematics and Economics, 50, 357-370, 2012b) and Lee and Ahn (Dependence Modeling, 5, 316-329, 2017) for the comparison of herd behaviors in global stock markets. A global stock market data from Morgan Stanley Capital International is used to study herd behavior especially during periods of financial crises.

  • In an electricity market with an imperfect competition, participants make plans of biddings and transaction strategies to maximize their own profits. The market price and the quantity are concerned with the operation reserve as well as the bidding system and demand curves in an electricity market. This paper presents a model of the combined market , energy market and operating teserve market. The Nash equilibrium is analyzed by using a hi-level optimization , maximization of Social welfare (SW) and maximization of the producers' profits.

  • With the growing competitive pressure from market participants, utilities, consumer and government, analyses of existing competitive electricity market become more important. The presence of congestion in the transmission system can significantly increase the potential of exercising market power. Since the congestion in the network depends on the several factors. the market power cannot be simply analyzed through the existing indices. This paper presents a systematic analysis on local market power under uniform pricing scheme and provides some mitigation of the strategic market power.

  • Recently, Korea's electric industry is in the midst of a period of profound changes in the structure and function, including the introduction of market competition in the generation sector. Korea is in the early stages of market competition, so the market price is chosen by generation costs but will be chosen by bids in future. Therefore, the profits of generators is determined by market pool price and the prospects of pool price are very important for new capacity investment determination of generators and IPPs. This study analyzes hourly marginal costs and LOLP considering basic generation mix and characteristics, develops the relationship of pool price using the above in competition market, and proposes basic direction for profits variation and supply-demand analysis in the electric market in future.

  • Garlic is one of the most important seasoning vegetables in Korea. Basically, Korea has two trading systems for garlic at the wholesale market, and academic discussions about this trading system couldn't get the conclusion. The purpose of this paper is to review the marketing structure of garlic and to analyze the trading systems for garlic at the wholesale market through survey analysis. The results of studies present a few findings: First, marketers for garlic show different preferences about the trading systems of garlic at the wholesale market. Especially, the size of volume of trading garlic affects the preference of the trading system. Second, the trading systems have various problems, which are claimed by marketers. These problems need to be improved for the more efficient trading at the wholesale market. Third, the current trading systems for garlic at the wholesale market need to be continued, and they should freely selected by marketers.
