여성의 이혼선택 요인에 관한 종단 연구: 생존분석을 중심으로 (Longitudinal Study on the Major Factors Affecting Divorce Choices among Women: Focused on Survival Analysis)

  • 본 연구는 결혼생활에서 시간경과에 따라 여성이 이혼을 선택하게 만드는 영향 요인을 파악하여, 여성의 결혼과 이혼양상을 가족전환의 관점으로 이해하고 두 집단 모두 의미 있는 선택이 될 수 있도록 실천에 기반한 생활복지 차원의 성장에 기여하는데 목적이 있다. 이를 위해 본 연구는 여성가족패널 자료를 사용하여 생존분석 방법을 이용한 종단 연구를 시행하였다. 여성의 결혼생활에서 각 요인들이 이혼 선택에 어떤 영향을 미치는지 콕스회귀분석을 실시하여 세 가지 분석모형을 통해 파악한 결과 모든 모형이 분석에 적합한 것으로 나타났다.

기혼여성의 우울감과 가족가치관과의 관련성 연구: 제4차 여성가족패널조사(2012) 자료분석 (Association of Family Values with Depressive Mood in Korean Married Women: The 4th Korean Longitudinal Survey of Women and Families Panel)

  • Background: Family values of a married woman may be related to her own depressive mood. Since depressive mood of a married woman is likely to exert a negative influence, in terms of mental health, on her, her family members, and the whole society's, it may be very important to explore the relationship between family values in married women and their depressive mood. Methods: In this study, we analyzed nationally representative 5,818 married women aged 20 years or older from the 4th panel data of 2012 Korean Longitudinal Survey of Women and Families. As for variables of interest, we constructed three family values variables: family-oriented view of marriage, individualistic view of marriage, and traditional view of marital roles. Then we employed multivariate logistic regression analyses to explore the relationship between family values and depressive mood, adjusting for family and socio-demographic factors. Results: In total, 804 married women (18.4%) had experienced depressive mood. All of the three family values variables were significant in their relationships with depressive mood. The women categorized as 'very weak' in family-oriented view of marriage were more likely to experience depressive mood than the women categorized as 'very strong' (odds ratio [OR], 1.98; 95% confidence interval [CI], 1.53-2.55). By contrast, the women categorized as 'very weak' in individualistic view of marriage (OR, 0.43; 95% CI, 0.33-0.55) and in traditional view of marital roles (OR, 0.68; 95% CI, 0.51-0.92) were less likely to experience depressive mood than their respective counterpart women categorized as 'very strong.' Conclusion: In Korea, married women's values towards marriage itself and roles between wives and husbands had significant associations with their depressive mood. This suggests that in order to improve mental health in married women, we need to take social and cultural dimensions into consideration along with public health interventions.

유연근무제도가 기혼여성의 일-가정 갈등 및 촉진, 직무만족에 미치는 영향: 패널분석 방법을 이용하여 (The effects of flexible work arrangements on work-family conflict and facilitation, and job satisfaction for married working women: A longitudinal analysis)

  • This study analyzes the effects of the three types of flexible work arrangements (part-time, flexitime, and reduced working hours for childcare) available in Korea on work-family conflict, facilitation, and job satisfaction for married working women ages 15-49. The study employs a panel analysis based on the first to the fourth data from the Korean Longitudinal Survey of Women & Families (KLoWF). The major results are as follows. First, the availability of part-time jobs and reduced working hours to facilitate childcare is significantly related to work-family conflict for married women. If a married woman is employed in a part-time position or if reduced working hours for childcare are available, the conflict within the family caused by the job is reduced. Second, none of the three types of flexible work arrangements have a statistically significant influence on work-family facilitation for married women. Third, the availability of reduced working hours for childcare has a positive effect on the job satisfaction of married women. In conclusion, flexible working hours for women who are raising children are the main factor in reducing the negative effect of a job on a woman's family life as they contribute to work and family compatibility.

LSTM을 활용한 한국 여성의 가족가치관과 우울의 군집분석: 여성가족패널 2007-2018년 자료를 중심으로 (The Analysis of Family Values and Depression of Korean Women Using LSTM :Based on the 2007-2018 Of Korean Longitudinal Survey of Women and Families)

  • 이 연구의 목적은 한국여성가족패널조사 1차부터 7차까지의 균형패널자료를 이용하여 한국여성의 가족가치관, 우울의 변화 궤적과 군집, 그리고 우울의 영향요인을 확인하는 것이다. 본 연구의 대상은 한국여성가족패널에 참여한 여성 패널 5,048명이며, Python의 통계분석패키지 및 LSTM 분석 기법을 활용하여 한국여성의 우울군집을 나누었다. 또한 SPSS 23.0을 활용하여 기술통계 분석, ANOVA, 다항 로지스틱회귀 분석, 위계적 회귀분석을 실시하였다. 연구결과, 여성의 연령이 증가할수록 우울수준이 증가하였으며, 가족가치관은 여성의 우울에 유의한 영향력이 있음을 확인하였다. 기혼집단의 여성의 결혼가치관이 개방적일수록 우울감이 높은 것으로 나타났다. 한국 여성의 우울, 가족가치관궤적의 군집별 사회 인구학적 요인은 상이하게 나타났으며, 가족가치관궤적과 우울수준은 단일 양상이 아니라 네 개의 상이한 군집이 존재하는 것으로 나타났다. 앞으로, 한국여성의 우울을 예방하고 이에 대한 개입 방안을 보다 구체화되기 위해서는 개인별 특성과 가족가치관을 고려한 집단별 지원체계가 마련되어야 할 것이다.

잠재성장모형을 활용한 중학생의 사회적 위축 및 우울과 공동체 의식 간의 종단적 관계 연구 : 성취가치의 매개효과 (The Longitudinal Relationship between Korean Youth's Social Withdrawal, Depression and Community Sense Using Latent Growth Model : A Mediating Effect of Achievement Values)

  • The purpose of this study was to investigate the longitudinal relationship between Korean youth's social withdrawal, depression and community sense mediated by achievement values. For this purpose, we analyzed three years of the longitudinal panel data (2011-2013) of the Korean Children and Youth Panel Survey (KCYPS). Data were collected from 2,351 first year middle school students using the latent growth model using SPSS 18.0 and AMOS 22.0. The main analysis results were as follows. First, social withdrawal and depression decreased and community sense increased as time passed. These results supported the linear change model. Second, the initial status of social withdrawal and depression had effects on the initial status and change rates of community sense. Achievement values, the partial mediator, had a positive influence on initial community sense but had a negative influence on change rates of community sense. We discussed how to improve Korean youth's community sense based on these results.

Different Influence of Negative and Positive Spillover between Work and Life on Depression in a Longitudinal Study

  • Background: This study investigated the longitudinal associations between the degrees of positive and negative spillover in work-life balance (WLB) at baseline and reports of depressive mood at a 2-year follow-up in Korean women employees. Methods: We used a panel study design data of 1386 women employees who participated in the Korean Longitudinal Survey of Women and Families in both 2014 and 2016. Depressive mood was measured using the "10-item Center for Epidemiologic Studies Depression Scale." Associations between the positive and negative spillover in WLB at baseline and reports of new incidence of depressive mood at 2-year follow-up were explored using a multivariate logistic regression model. Results: Negative spillover in WLB at baseline showed a significant linear association with reports of depressive mood at 2-yearfollow-up after adjusting for age, education level, marital status, number of children, and positive spillover (P = 0.014). The highest scoring group in negative spillover (fourth quartile) showed a significant higher odds ratio of 1.95 compared with the lowest scoring group (first quartile; P = 0.036). Conclusion: Positive spillover in WLB showed a U-shaped association with depression. The degrees of positive and negative spillover in WLB among Korean women employees at baseline were associated with new incidence of depressive mood within 2 years. To prevent depression of female workers, more discrete and differentiated policies on how to maintain healthy WLB are required.

가사 및 자녀돌봄 서비스 이용과 부부 간 노동 분담의 관계 (Gender Differences in Contribution to Domestic Work and Childcare Associated with Outsourcing in Korea)

  • This paper examines the associations of having a helper for domestic work or childcare and time spent on it by couples in South Korea. We use five waves of panel survey data from the Korean Longitudinal Survey of Women and Families (KLoWF), which allows longitudinal changes within couples over time that account for potential selection effects and unobserved heterogeneity among individuals. With fixed effects, we find outsourcing is associated with a decrease in wife's time spent on domestic work or childcare by 1 hour per week. However, the decrease is concentrated on the unemployed wife's time, but not employed wife's time. In addition, outsourcing is not a significant factor for husband's time and the husband's share of total contribution. This may be because wives are the main provider of domestic work and childcare in Korea regardless of employment status or having any helper. Due to unequal contributions between husband and wife, using outsourcing also neither alleviates the employed wife's contribution nor changes the husband's contribution. However, the results may be underestimated because there are more common and diverse types of outsourcing in a broad sense, such as going out for dinner, buying prepared food, and using dry cleaning services. We expect future studies to consider more broad types of outsourcing and examine how relations with the couple's time use at home are different by type.

기업의 자녀돌봄지원제도가 미취학자녀를 둔 기혼여성의 이직의향 및 일-가정 상호작용에 미치는 영향 (The effect of family care program in workplace on turnover intention and work-family interaction for married working women)

  • The purpose of this study is to demonstrate how having a family care program in the workplace for working women with preschool children affects these women's work and family life. This study employs a panel analysis based on data from the Korean Longitudinal Survey of Women and Families. The major results are as follows. First, financial support for nursery care is only significantly related to the turnover of married women with preschool children. Second, the negative effects of work on the family are significantly influenced by financial support for nursery care and maternity leave. Third, financial support for nursery care is also significantly related to the positive effects of work on the family. In conclusion, a family-friendly care program including financial support for nursery care and maternity leave in the workplace is an important support system for working mothers in raising their children.

A Longitudinal Study on the Parenting Effectiveness of Multicultural Families and Self-esteem and Achievement Motivation of Multicultural Adolescents: Verification of Autoregressive Cross-lagged Model

  • 본 연구의 목적은 다문화가정 부모의 부모효능감과 다문화청소년의 자아존중감 및 성취동기 간의 관계를 종단적으로 분석하는 것이다. 연구자료는 다문화청소년패널연구(MAPS) 데이터를 사용하였다. 2011년 1차(초등학교 4학년)에서 2016년 6차(중학교 3학년)까지 총 6차년에 걸친 데이터 중, 본 연구에서는 2012년(2차, 초등학교 5학년), 2014년(4차, 중학교 1학년), 2016년(6차, 중학교 3학년) 자료를 분석대상으로 하였다. 다문화가정 부모의 부모효능감과 다문화청소년의 자아존중감 및 성취동기 간의 종단적 관계를 살펴보기 위해 자기회귀교차지연 모형을 적용한 분석결과는 다음과 같다. 첫째, 다문화가정 부모의 부모효능감, 다문화청소년의 자아존중감과 성취동기의 자기회귀효과는 각각 시간의 흐름에도 지속적인 정(+)적인 영향을 미치는 것으로 나타났다. 둘째, 이전 시점의 다문화가정 부모의 부모효능감은 이후 시점의 다문화청소년의 자아존중감과 성취동기에 미치는 교차지연효과는 정(+)적인 방향으로 유의한 영향을 미치는 것으로 확인되었다. 셋째, 이전 시점의 다문화청소년의 자아존중감은 이후 시점의 다문화청소년의 성취동기에 미치는 교차지연효과는 정(+)적인 방향으로 유의한 영향을 미치는 것으로 확인되었다. 넷째, 다문화가정 부모의 부모효능감은 다문화청소년의 성취동기에 미치는 교차지연효과의 영향력이 다문화청소년의 자아존중감이 성취동기에 미치는 교차지연효과의 영향력보다 더 큰 것으로 나타났다. 본 연구는 다문화가정 부모의 부모효능감과 다문화청소년의 자아존중감 및 성취동기 간의 관계를 확인하기 위해 종단적 자료를 사용하여 시간의 흐름에 따른 세 변인 간의 인과적 방향성을 검증하는데 연구의 의의가 있다.

직장여성의 연도별 출산 계획 변화 및 관련요인 분석 (An Analysis of Factors associated with Annual Trends in Childbirth Plans by Female Workers)

  • Purpose: The aim of this study is to identify factors of Korean female workers' childbirth plans and to establish measures to improve the childbirth plan. Methods: Study subjects were selected part in the 1st, 3rd, and 5th year surveys of the Korean Longitudinal Panel Survey of Women and Families. The selection criteria were as follows: women who had a spouse; were salaried workers currently employed for the last one month; belonged to a childbearing age; and had less than 3 children. Logistic regression analysis was conducted to investigate factors associated with childbirth plans. Results: Childbirth plans by female workers decreased each year. The analysis of associated factors revealed that age, number of children were associated factors in all years. In addition, education, satisfaction about dividing household chores with the husband, and satisfaction about working environment were associated with the lack of planning for childbirth in female workers in the 1st survey year. Satisfaction about dividing household chores with the husband, family-work conflict, and satisfaction about the potential for personal development were associated factors in the 3rd survey year. Finally, family-work conflict, satisfaction about employment stability, and satisfaction about job task at work were associated factors in the 5th survey year. Conclusion: It is important to know the measures focusing on the lack of planning for childbirth, and hence these factors can be improved by assessing in general, family, and occupational characteristics. Additionally, employer policies regarding women employees who are pregnant or have children at home need to be reviewed.
