A eunicid polychaete, Marphysa victori Lavesque, Daffe, Bonifácio & Hutchings, 2017 is described for the first time from the intertidal zones of the Korean coasts. It is characterized by having three types of pectinate chaetae (INS, isodont-narrow-slender; AWS, anodont-wide-slender; and AWT, anodont-wide-thick), appearance of pectinate chaetae from chaetiger 2, the chaetae consisted of pectinate and compound spinigers, and pygidium with one pair of pygidial cirri. In genetic analysis based on cytochrome c oxidase subunit I (COI), intra-specific genetic distance between the specimens of M. victori from its type locality, France and Korea are in the range of 0.000-0.013. This paper includes the morphological description and photographs of M. victori new to Korean fauna, with partial sequences of the mitochondrial COI as DNA barcode data on this species.

This paper aims to investigated the reasonable objectiveness of trading areas on the Korea Ship Safety Act and to make a regulated proposal of trading areas. To achieve the above mentioned object, we analyzed the existing rules and other related circumstances of maritime fields. On the basis of this viewpoint, this paper was focused on three topics of concern : (1) the relationship between the ship Safety Act and other Maritime Acts. (2) the legislative examples of foreign countries, (3) the reasonable revised reasons of trading areas. In this paper, we proposed following four matters such as (1) the modification of ship's length and speed which are the designative basis of trading areas, (2) the extension of the smooth sea area to limit of territorial seas (3) the extension of the near-coastal area to the coasts of the P.R.C., Japan, the U.S.S.R and the R.O.C ., and rename of its area into the near & greater coastal area, (4) the annulment of greater-coastal area.

Hydrographic surveys were carried out four times in the western channel of the Korea Strait in March and August 2003 and in June and November 2004. The bottom cold water, which was lower than $10^{\circ}C$, appeared in the channel trough except in March 2003. It flowed southwestward along the shelf of Korean coasts in August 2003 and in November 2004. The width and the maximum speed of the intrusion current were about 20 km and approximately $25\;cm\;s^{-1}$, respectively, off Ulsan, Korea. The volume transport of the bottom cold water was estimated 0.019 Sv ($Sv{\equiv}10^6\;m^3\;s^{-1}$) in August 2003 and 0.026 Sv in November 2004.

This study presents a methodology to evaluate the driving safety of vehicles against localized high wind on the roads over the valleys or along the coasts. Risk level for vehicle accident is derived from the side slip caused by cross wind, and then safety criteria based on reliability for driving stability are defined. The level of safety is classified according to probability of exceeding against wind speed using the concept of extreme value statistics. To attain the safety level of vehicle on bridges, numerical simulations using Computational Fluid Dynamics(CFD) are performed. Based on this result, risk reduction and quality improvement is expected through analysis for each alternative in bridges design, construction and operation & maintenance stage with proposed process

Some marine hydromedusae were collected from the coasts of Geojedo Island and Changho harbour in Korea during the period from January 1997 to March 1999. They were identified into Rathkea octopunctata (M. Sars, 1835), Spirocodon saltatrix (Tilesius, 1818) in Anthomedusae and Dipleurosoma typicum Boeck, 1866 in Leptomedusae. They are new to the Korean fauna.

Three new species of Hemicyclops, H. parilis, H. nasutus and H. membranatus are described from Korean coasts. Hemicyclops parilis n. sp. is closely similar to H. gomsoensis Ho and Kim, but distinguishable from the latter species by having the different shape of genital double somite and spermatophore. Hemicyclops nasutus n. sp. is distinguishable from congeners by having five setae on the first segment of antennule and the ratio 4.26 : 1 of the length to width of caudal ramus. Hemicyclops membranatus n. sp. is characterized by the possession of the membranous fringe along margins of cephalothorax and a claw on the third antennal segment.

The cruise industry is one of the world's fastest growing device industry which is structural construction coasts are expensive. Cruise out-fittings are thirty times compare with general large vessels. According to the characteristics of materials or equipments, most equipments are imported from europe. At present domestic shipbuilding industries and minor enterprises have a hard times therefore enhancing technology for the cruise industry could be infused vitality on the industries. If domestic small and midium industries have high technology for the cruise ship, domestic small and midium industries can have global competitiveness compare with european equipment suppliers which has small-scale and high technology. Therefore on this study, cruise ship's new equipment development and a study for the performance assessment and classification type approval certificate was carried out.

In this study, a two-dimensional storm surges/tide prediction model called the Storm surges/Tide Operational Model (STORM) was applied as the operational forecast model of the Korea Meteorological Administration (KMA). The operational model results were verified for two years (2006-2007) using observed results from tidal stations. Comparisons of modeled and observed storm surges show that larger differences at the western coast of Korea than at the southern and eastern coasts. The averaged root mean square error between the modeled and observed storm surges height are 0.16 m and 0.10 m in 2006 and 2007, respectively.

Five species of Hypoglossum from the coasts of Korea were described. They were distinguished each other by vegetative morphology as well as reproductive structures. H. barbatum Okamura and H. simulans Wynne, Price et Ballantine were similar in their subalternate branchings but they were clearly different by developmental mode of 3rd-order cell rows. H. simulans is distinguished from H. barbatum as well as from the other three species in that only innermost cells of 2nd-order rows cut off 3rd-order cell rows. H. geminatum Okamura and H. caloglossoides Wynne et Kraft are oppositely branched but the latter is characterized by regular constrictions at branching points. H. minimum Yamada developed simple blades. Among them, H. simulans, H. caloglossoides, and H. minimum are newly recorded from Korean waters.

Only 12 species of marine harpacticoid copepods are ercorded in Koran waters. With the study on the taxonomy of harpacticoid copepods in Korean waters, Lourinia armata(Claus, 1866) was found in the samples from the rocky shore of Names off the east coast and Chiju Hrbor in June and August 1992, respectively. This species is reported to be distributed in the far east Asian coasts for the first time. It was redescribed and figured.
