Recently, with the diffusion of a new paradigm named as the creative economy, the government's interests and efforts regarding support of SMEs' R&D have been concentrated. In particular, due to the dominant perception that the fundamental science and original technology from government-funded research institutes can further enhance the capabilities of SMEs' R&D, the importance of performance's diffusion on national R&D is further emphasized. In fact, the domestic SMEs don't have enough budget and workforce, so that all of self-contained technologies, product's competitiveness as well as the R&D capabilities, are very vulnerable, and thereby SMEs' commercialization is very likely to fail. For this end, SMEs need to adopt the concept of open innovation as the use of external R&D resources by licensing. In this study, we conducted a survey on a total of 286 domestic IT SMEs, and analyzed empirically to compare the degree of their acceptance on technological innovation between two groups divided by open/not-open innovation. As a result, we drew some of the key factors influencing the acceptance of the SMEs' open technological innovation, and found a variety of implications through them.

The purpose of this study was to analyze effectiveness of Jeonnam Innovation School based on comparison of 'democratic school management,' 'curriculum,' 'learning community,' and 'satisfaction with education,' between general schools and innovation schools. For the study, a survey was conducted among 24 innovation schools and 24 general schools, with 912 students of the innovation schools, 913 students of the general schools, 99 teachers of the innovation schools, 99 teachers of the general schools, 101 parents of the innovation schools, and 103 parents of the general schools as respondents. In the result, innovation schools showed higher effectiveness than general schools, especially in the middle schools in comparison to the elementary schools. The difference in effectiveness between innovation schools and general schools was greatest in 'democratic changes of the school' and 'satisfaction with education' according to the responses from the teachers, students, and parents.

While past studies on e-books have mainly focused on the uses and gratifications (UG) and technology acceptance model(TAM), this study rather analysed the innovation resistance factors of adopting the e-book based on the innovation resistance model. The research model comprises of two factors: 1) innovation characteristics which include relative advantages, compatability and complexity, 2) user characteristics which encompass attitudes towards innovation and existing products (i.e., paper books). Using online survey questionnaire, this study examined the effects of those innovation and user characteristics on the innovation resistance, and the relationship between innovation resistance and intention of adoption. The results showed that complexity and attitude towards existing products affected the innovation resistance which has negative influence on the intention of adoption. Accordingly, it is necessary to improve the ease of use in the whole process from purchase to reading experiences, and highlight e-books' own interactive features and functions which are perceived as different from paper-book user experience.

This study aims to provide information about the priority setting and budget coordination of government R&D spendings in Korea. Based on the result of "Survey, Analysis and Evaluation of National R&D Programs"in FY 2000. this paper reviews the government R&D expenditures by the concerned variables such as program objectives, sector of performance, character of work and technology fields. It is found that R&D spendings on the areas of industrial development, information technology, and development research are funded pretty high. Also, it turns out that, considering program objectives and character of work, there are some redundancies of R&D programs among government agencies. Policy implications are suggested.

This study is focused on measuring levels of science and technology aspect of ten strategic items in korea to serve as a guidance for the government R&D policy-making, and provide appropriate information for promoting the national R&D programs. The survey of the precise technology level for study applies functional and technical parameters. Functional parameters are used for measuring technology level of the specification and performance of emerging items such as 256M DRAM, TFT-LCD ect. in the present and / or near future; technical parameters, the element / core technologies on emerging items. The study suggests that the result of the survey should be applied for strategic technology planning to narrow the technology gap and draw the criteria for resource allocation in national R&D programs.

This is a paper to understand the economic effects of the measurement standards by translog cost function. The data, as of the end of 1998, are from a survey of 514 firms in Korean industry. The analysis is compared to that of 1992 data analysis to check the trend. There are a little differences on the estimated coefficients, but there is no basic difference on trend of economic effects. The Investment on measurement standards have been contributed positively on the major managerial indicators such as productivity, profit, and so on.

Purpose: This empirical study is focused on the relationship between innovation capability (R&D and Human Resource innovation) and performance in knowledge-based service firms. Methods: We build research model to test how each of innovation capability on technology and human resource is influenced on their financial and non-financial performance in the knowledge-based service industries. Based on the previous research, we hypothesized the factors are regarded innovation capabilities of the firms as the scale of R&D and human resources. Because this study is especially targeted to the performance of knowledge-based service firms. With the survey on 424 main knowledge-based service firms, the multi-regression analysis was performed. Results: The result showed that the scale of R&D and human resources capabilities are main factors for knowledge-based service firms' performance, which reflects the current industrial structure. Conclusion: This study empirically demonstrated that human resources are most important to the growth of knowledge-based service firms.

The purpose of this study is to identify the effect of the innovation characteristics that AI Elderly Care Robots have on elderly consumers and to verify the acceptance or mediated resistance by the elderly of the innovation characteristics. Research was conducted throughout this study of the characteristics of the elderly so that the study results could contribute to the improvement of the quality and manufacture of AI Elderly Care Robots by lowering the psychological resistance of the elderly. Survey questions were answered by senior citizens aged 65 and older. The SPSS25 and AMOS22 programs were used for analysis. The analysis confirmed that innovation resistance has a significant mediated effect on the characteristics of elderly consumers and their willingness to accept the innovation characteristics of the AI Elderly Care Robots. Through this study, Ram's innovation resistance model has been verified empirically and it is estimated that by considering the specificities of elderly consumers and using the information to contribute to the development and modification of AI Elderly Care Robots will increase the willingness of the elderly to accept the innovation characteristics of the AI Elderly Care Robots.

Recently, creative innovation has become a major topic in management innovation and due to this, various researches on its need and methodologies are being performed. According to previous studies on ambidexterity, explorative innovation is closer to divergent and right-sided brain, while exploitative innovation is closer to convergent and left-sided brain. Five attributes of the questionnaires were developed based on right-sided and left-sided brain theory. Also, 25 problem solving tools were selected according to previous studies. QC 7 Tools and new QC 7 Tools were frequently used in Six Sigma projects. Other 11 problem solving tools were selected with consideration on its usage frequency. Survey questionnaires were distributed to 25 Six Sigma consultants and 22 were retrieved for this study's use. As a result, 14 tools were identified to hold exploitative attribute while 11 tools were identified to hold explorative attributes.
