The history of pharmacy in Korea from the era of 'Dangun Mythology' to today was reviewed briefly with special emphases on the beginning of pharmacy education, introduction of modern pharmacy education, establishment of modern educational institutions, and the evolution of the education system to a new 6-year pharmacy program.

In the present study, we investigate and compare the International Mathematical Olympiad participation histories of Korea, China, and Japan. Especially, the processes for the first participation of the IMO, trends in team rankings of the IMO, and national team selection systems and education systems are compared. And we investigate and compare the policies for the talented girls mathematics Olympians. Several proposals are suggested for development of Korean Mathematical Olympiad and participations to IMO.

Objectives : Most academic societies have their own journals. Those journals represent the trends of academic societies' studies. Therefore, it is important to review articles in journals. Korean Society of Medical History (KSMH) has Journal of Korean Society of Medical History (J. of KSMH). We analyze articles in J. of KSMH and try to recognize the trends. Methods : From Vol. 12 No. 2 in 1999 to Vol. 27 No. 1 in 2014 of the J. of KSMH, we retrieved article's headings and analyzed those subjects. Results : We got 342 research articles about ; book 97, person 44, theory 65 (medical theory 48, thought 8, origin of word and story 9), clinical research 42 (disease 19, method 16, treatment 7), system of medicine and medical treatment 22 (system of medicine 10, system of medical treatment 12), mutual and comparative study in medicine 18 (mutual study 14, comparative study 4), etc. 56 (materia medica and prescription 23, trends study and essay 18, traditional medicine informatics 10, community medicine 5). Conclusions : J. of KSMH contained several subjects based on medical history ; book, person, theory, thought, origin of word and story, clinical research, mutual and comparative study in medicine, etc. However, the subjects were biased to books and persons.

본 연구는 구술자료 아카이브 정보시스템 설계를 위하여 구술기록물의 생산, 수집절차, 접근의 용이성, 저작권 등에 대하여 논의하였으며, 웹 구술사료 아카이브 설계 구축을 위한 기본 방안과 평가를 위한 가이드라인을 개발함으로써 웹 구술사료 아카이브 구축을 위해 활용 가능한 기준을 제시해 보고자 하였다. 이를 위해 평가 프레임워크를 기반으로 국내외 웹 구술사료 아카이브 5개 기관을 선정하여 연구자가 제시한 평가용 가이드라인을 적용하여 사례분석을 하였다. 여기에서 얻어진 결과를 바탕으로 국내의 웹 구술사료 아카이브 정보시스템 구축을 위한 개선점을 논의하였다.

The purpose of this paper is to scrutinize how Parks recalling, deconstructing and reconstructing African-American memories of the absences in American history through a black Lincoln impersonator named, The Foundling Father or The Lesser Known. Parks unearths and reconstitutes a significance for the historical event of Lincoln's assassination by repetitive mimicry and verbal puns. As a pun of the Founding Father, the Foundling Father reminds us of Abraham Lincoln, one of the most venerated figures in American history. In the first act, the black Foundling Father performs as The Great Man. This inverted minstrel show of the black Foundling Father performing a white Lincoln exposes the desire of the Foundling Father to insert his narrative within the history of America. With a series of assassinations, the African-American performers figuratively murder the power and control of the American myth. In the second act, his wife Lucy and his son Brazil dig relics from the past out of 'The great hole of history' instead of the Foundling Father. Digging and burial for African-Americans are their livelihood and their calling as well. As Parks pointed out, they should locate the ancestral buried ground, dig for bones and find bones because so much of African-American history has been unrecorded, dismembered and washed out. Parks leaves the possibilities of digging and burying on the black history through Lucy and Brazil.

This study was designed to analyze the results of bone mineral density test in oriental medical examination. The subjects were workers in the automobile manufacturing industry. The subjects consisted of 3,206 industrial workers who had received oriental medical examination by oriental medicine and they submitted questionnaires about drinking history and smoking history, during 9 months from March to November. They were categorized by sex, age, job class, drinking history, smoking history and exercise history. The T-scores were measured by using OSTEOPRO(BMTECH, Seoul, Korea). We analyzed the relationship between sex, age, job class, drinking history, smoking history, exercise history and the results of bone mineral density using X2-test of the SPSS Ver. 14.0. There was a positive correlation between age and osteoporosis prevalence. In job class, sales personnel were apt to have a higher prevalence of osteoporosis than factory workers and office workers. Osteoporosis rates of the drinker group showed a higher level than the non-drinker group. Bone mineral densities of non-smoker group were higher than the Smoker group. And bone mineral densities of exerciser group were higher than the non-exerciser group. They have to encourage exercise and educate the workers to quit smoking for their health promotion. Furthermore, continuous health check up needs to be done connectedly.

The objective of this paper is to monitor damage in beam-type structures by using time history of natural frequencies. First, numerical experiments on test beams are described, Dynamic responses of the test structures are obtained for several damage scenarios in a consequent order. Next, the time history of natural frequencies are extracted for the first four modes from the dynamic responses of the test structures. Finally, damage detection in the test structures is performed using the time-history of natural frequencies.

Korean traditional Oriental medicine is a medical system that has been developed based on the locality and history of Korea as well as the blood and constitution of Korean people. It is closely connected to Korean history and culture, and is in close internal linkage with oral and written legends, traditions and folktales. Referring to previous researches on these legends, the present study extracted medicine related legends from various legend collections, classified them by subject, analyzed representative cases, and examined their meanings and values in terms of medical culture.

Objective : This study was carried out with focus on written by Joh, Taek-seung (曺澤承) and Joh, Byeong-who(曺秉矦) in the relation of father and son in 1933. This book is a medical book including rare data, which has never been reported to academic circles all this while. Method : First, this study looked into the authors of this book and its history of publication. Further, this study analyzed the composition and contents of this book. Lastly, this study summed up the meaning of this book from the standpoint of medical history. Result : The authors were Confucian doctors who were active in the latter era of the Joseon Dynasty and also in the period of Japanese colonial rule. They lived in Haenam district of Jeonlanam-do, and cured its neighboring local residents while studying. They published the book of by putting together their own medical experiences. The authors suggested their remedial prescription according to gender and age whereas Zhang Zhongjing(張仲景) suggested the remedial prescription according to Six-Meridian Pattern Identification & Syndrome Differentiation(六經辨證). In addition, the authors of gave weight to the relationship with internal damage. Additionally, the authors not only thought much of the relationship between internal damage and external damage but also thought of the weakness and strength of the healthy qi, and the new and the old of a disease as an important clue to medical treatment. It seems that such contents was influenced by (東醫寶鑑). Conclusion : shows the results of the research on which was spontaneously conducted in Joseon.

There has been an ongoing symbiotic relationship between the history of the International Commission on Mathematical Instruction(ICMI) and the broader history of mathematics education since 1908. Similarly, the International Congress on Mathematical Education(ICME) has played an important role in the direction of Mathematics education since its first congress in 1969. ICME-12 is due to be held in Seoul, Korea from July $8^{th}$ to $15^{th}$ 2012. To date, there has been no research paper concerning the history of the ICMI published in any Korean journal. In readiness for the upcoming ICME-12, this paper aims to provide a comprehensive overview of the history of the IMCI from the perspective of Mathematics education.
