An Analysis of Economic Ripple Effect on the Knowledge Service Industry (지식서비스산업의 경제적 파급효과 분석)

  • In this study, we have measured the effects on production inducement, added value inducement, employment inducement and backward and forward linkage regarding the knowledge service industry in Korea. It turns out that the knowledge service industry greatly contributes to increase of added value and employment creation while highly withholds to effect on production inducement and backward and forward linkage effects. In recent, government seeks out new growth driver out of the knowledge service industry. We have found the fact that its direction should be 'production growth of the knowledge service industry' through this study.

The Difficulties and Needs of Pre-service Elementary Teachers in the Science Class utilizing Smart Technologies in Teaching Practice (교육실습에 참여한 예비 초등교사들이 테크놀로지 활용 과학수업 실행에서 느끼는 어려움과 요구)

  • The purpose of this study is to identify pre-service elementary school teachers' difficulties and needs in the science class utilizing smart technologies. The participants were nine pre-service elementary teachers who had practical training at an elementary school and took classes related to technology, pedagogy, and science knowledge. The data was collected through semi-constructed and in-depth interviews. The documents such as participants' guidance plans, daily records produced in teaching practice was collected and analyzed. The results of the research are as follow: Pre-service teachers have usually used the technology as a secondary transfer media to convey the knowledge. We found that the pre-service elementary teachers had 15 difficulties in the science class utilizing smart technologies. In addition, they needed a class to focus more on teaching them by integrating technology knowledge, pedagogy knowledge, and science knowledge, and by sharing a real case of science class utilizing smart technologies.

  • Small and Medium Enterprises (SMEs) is one of several activators that drives the economy of Indonesia because SMEs provide jobs, increase Gross Domestic Product (GDP), and assure the delivery of products and services. However, Indonesian SMEs are not very competitive in the industrial world, and one of the causes is the low quality of products that undermine customer satisfaction. There are several factors presumed as influencing customer satisfaction, which among others include product knowledge, service quality, and competitive advantage. The objective of this research is to reveal the contribution of product knowledge and service quality to customer satisfaction with competitive advantage as the mediation variable. This research used a quantitative approach. The causal relationship across variables was examined with Structural Equation Modeling-Partial Least Squares (SEM-PLS). The sample of this research involved 140 respondents. Data was collected through a questionnaire and the items in the questionnaire were processed with a software called SmartPLS version 3.3.2. Results of this research indicate (1) product knowledge and service quality can increase competitive advantage and customer satisfaction in East Java SMEs; (2) competitive advantage can act as a mediator in the effect of service quality on customer satisfaction (3) product knowledge can increase customer satisfaction but the increase is not significant statistically.

Pre-service and In-service Teachers' MKT about the Concept of Vector (예비교사와 현직교사의 벡터 개념에 대한 이해: MKT 중심으로)

  • The purpose of the study was to investigate the mathematical knowledge for teaching (MKT) of pre-service and in-service mathematics teachers on the concept of vector. 80 pre-service and 124 in-service mathematics teachers were asked to perform three questions based on MKT's subdomain. The results show that pre-service teachers have stronger common content knowledge(CCK). On the other hand, in-service teachers have stronger specialized content knowledge(SCK), knowledge of content and teaching(KCT) compared to those of pre-service teachers. The paper proposes CCK, SCK and KCT about the concept of vector and discusses the relationships between subdomains of MKT.

Research on how Pre-service Teachers' Knowledge Changed in Movement Instruction Under the Guidance of an Expert Professor (우수교수의 동작수업을 통한 예비교사들의 지식변화와 수업의 특성 탐색)

  • Objective: This study explores how pre-service teachers' knowledge changed in the field of movement education and the characteristics of the instruction they perceived during a 15-week course. Methods: The drawing of concept maps and interviews were used to discuss how pre-service teachers' knowledge changed and the characteristics of the course. Results: The results showed that the pre-service teachers interrelated concepts in a more systematic way, and the concepts they used were increased while master concepts were decreased, indicating that their knowledge changed in a far more hierarchical order after the class. Characteristics of the course that led to a change in their knowledge appeared under the proper guidance of a professor. This was well demonstrated by feedback and evaluation at the stage of planning instruction and simulation teaching. Conclusion/Implications: The study demonstrated that the proper guidance of a professor was a useful tool for fostering the professional development of pre-service teachers in regard to constructing knowledge in movement education.

Effects of Chronic Disease Education for Hypertension, Diabetes Patients's Knowledge (만성질환 교육이 고혈압, 당뇨병 환자의 지식수준에 미치는 영향)

  • Objectives: This study is based on Public Care Service for Chronic Diseases in Incheon Metropolitan City featuring Health-Point Service. It is objective to evaluate whether the service could improve self-management ability of hypertension and diabetes patients. Methods: The knowledge about diabetes and hypertension, which can be improved by educational intervention, is considered as one of the most important factor for self-management ability. While the education service have been conducted, 194 patients who have been diagnosed as hypertension and diabetes within 3 months were included. They completed questionnaires two times within 4 months period, which give information about the knowledge, service registration and education experiences. For further inspection, 396 patients who had been diagnosed formerly were studied by cross-sectional analysis. Results: Regardless of service registration or educational intervention, there wasn't statistically meaningful difference between the initial and the follow-up assessments on the knowledge. However, when investigating formerly diagnosed patients, educated patients had better knowledge on hypertension compared with non-educated patients and registered patients, educated patients had the better knowledge on diabetes compared with non-registered patients, non-educated patients. Additionally, analyzing each questions, educated patients got higher grades in questions about definition of hypertension, diabetes managements which they can practice in daily lives. Conclusions: It is probable that long-term service registration and education experiences could improve the knowledge and self-management ability.

  • The knowledge resources take a role in promoting the sustainable growth of organization. Therefore, it is important for the members of organization to acquire knowledge consistently so that the company can continue to grow. Knowledge service is the field that provides information and infrastructure which enable the members of organization to acquire new knowledge. As we recognized the importance of knowledge services, we analyzed the level of knowledge service management and development through the impact of knowledge quality on user capabilities. First, the matrix of knowledge patterns was presented based on the type of information and the level of customer interaction. According to patterns, the knowledge service was classified into three types of information providing, information analysis, and infrastructure, and then the results of structural model analysis were presented for each type. It found that the impact of knowledge service quality on user competence was different according to the type of service. The results suggested new indicators for measuring the performance of knowledge services, and provided information for reconstructing services based on the user considering the integrated operation of knowledge service and organizational designing knowledge service.

  • This paper reviewed the relationship between information technology system and knowledge management activities, and the moderating effect of industrial type. The results of multiple regression analysis, based on the responses from 219 employees in manufacturing and financing service sector, showed that information technology infrastructure and information technology usage have positive effects on knowledge acquisition, knowledge transfer, and knowledge usage. In moderating effects, information technology infrastructure more positively related with knowledge acquisition in financing service sector than in manufacturing sector. And also information technology usage more positively related with knowledge transfer in financing service sector than in manufacturing sector.

  • IT service is becoming a critical business operation in the age of information revolution. In providing IT services internally to other functions of the corporation and externally to other organizations, sharing of knowledge between business people and system people is known to become more and more critical for successful IT services. Purpose of this research is to examine the impact of IT service quality on knowledge sharing activities between IT service providers and users. Theoretical research model, through an extant literature review, is proposed here, consisting of IT service quality, relationship quality(satisfaction, trust and commitment), and the level of knowledge sharing activities. Survey results of 183 users indicates that IT service quality significantly influences commitment through satisfaction and trust, which in turn influences the level of knowledge sharing activities. Also, interestingly, satisfaction and trust do not directly influences the level of knowledge sharing,but indirectly, through commitment.

Correlation between Knowledge level and Space Perception Ability of Pre-service Elementary School Teacher on 'Earth and Space' of Elementary Science (초등과학의 '지구와 우주' 영역에서 초등예비교사의 지식수준과 공간지각 능력과의 관계)

  • The purpose of this study is find out the correlation of level of knowledge of pre-service elementary teacher with space perception ability on 'Earth and Space' of elementary science. During the second semester of 2013, for 15 weeks, the classes were conducted for 3 hours per week and we find out knowledge Understanding degree and select terms offered by 5th grade science courses 'The solar system and the stars', 'Earth and Moon', 'change of seasons' section and measured space perception ability degree of pre-service elementary school teacher with a questionnaire. We analyzed the correlation of understanding level of knowledge in the field of astronomy of pre-service elementary school teacher with space perception ability. The results of the study are presented as follows. First, pre-service elementary school teacher showed a low level of knowledge understanding as it goes the upper grades about upper concept in 'The solar system and the stars', 'Earth and Moon', 'change of seasons' section' of astronomy area of elementary science 'Earth and space sector'. The pre-service elementary school teachers needs to acquire knowledge of astronomy area in elementary school curriculum. Second, pre-service elementary school teacher showed that there are differences individually in 'finding solid body' of sub-element of space perception ability. This shows that 'finding solid body' factor is associated with space perception ability. Third, in the section of 'The earth and the Universe' for elementary education, 'Reflection' and 'Finding solid body' which are low-level components of space perception ability were verified that have a corelationship with general grades in the astronomy conception test.
