Despite the well accepted necessity and importance of knowledge management, cases of successful knowledge management are not easy to find. With a case study of a Korean organization, this research introduces an integrated knowledge management model, in which knowledge and work processes are combined to improved knowledge performance. Knowledge-work process integration facilitates knowledge asset creation, transfer, and utilization, through which inefficiencies in knowledge utilization may be removed and knowledge contribution to business performance may be enhanced. Knowledge-work process integration may further be aligned with innovation processes, enabling systematic and continuous knowledge based process innovation.

This study investigated the impact of entry level of mathematics subject knowledge on student teachers' mathematics pedagogical content knowledge development and performance in mathematics teaching practice. The sample consisted of 24 mathematics student teachers, 12 of whom passed A-Level mathematics and 12 of whom only passed O-level mathematics. They were all studying in a 4-year bachelor of education (Honours/Primary) programme; they were either majoring or minoring in mathematics. Results showed that student teachers' entry-level mathematics subject knowledge is not related to their mathematics pedagogical content knowledge development or their mathematics teaching performance. These findings may lead society to consider whether student teachers who have passed O-level mathematics are already eligible to be trained as professional primary mathematics teachers. As a consequence, this study raises the issues of how to develop student teachers' mathematics pedagogical content knowledge and whether we need to restructure our bachelor of education (Primary) programmes' curriculum in teacher professionalism.
In franchisee industry, it is essential for franchisors to share knowhow and also specialized knowledge in order to realize favorable relationship and performance between franchisors and franchisees. Particularly, in mature food service industry, companies' specialized knowledge and knowhow are the core competence to obtain competitive advantage. Therefore, to create performance, it is absolutely necessary to share information and knowledge among all the franchisees. The purpose of this study is to verify relationship between franchisors' information sharing perceived by food service franchise owners, relationship quality, and relationship performance. A survey was done to food service franchisees, and total 297 samples were used to analyze the structural equation model. According to the analysis results, food service franchise companies' information sharing is significantly correlated with quality of relationship with franchise owners in a positive way. Also, franchisors' knowledge sharing has significant influence on performance of relationship with franchisees in a positive way. The components of relationship quality, trust and immersion, all influence relationship performance. Based on the results, this author suggests several implications about food service franchise management and information sharing.
Purpose: This study was designed to identify knowledge and performance level of infection control among oriental medical doctors and nurses and further to identify factors that may influence practice. Methods: Data were collected using the survey method. Two hundred and forty two healthcare workers (HCW) from five oriental medicine university hospitals in Korea (140 physicians and 102 nurses) completed a survey about infection control. The study was conducted from February 1 to 28, 2011. Results: The average knowledge level of infection control among HCW was $0.75{\pm}0.13$ (score range 0~1) and the average performance level of infection control was $3.16{\pm}1.05$ (score range 0~5). 'Disinfection and sterilization' were ranked the highest in both the knowledge and performance level. In the knowledge level, 'hand washing/hand hygiene' were ranked the lowest. 'Bloodstream infection prevention' was the lowest among the infection control categories in performance. Total average knowledge and performance level of nurses was significantly higher than that of the physicians. Conclusion: This study demonstrated the oriental medical doctors and nurses' knowledge and performance level of infection control differed. The education on infection control is required to oriental medical doctors and nurses and it would contribute to preventing healthcare associated infections in oriental medicine hospitals.

Purpose: This study was conducted to analyze the correlations among the knowledge, stress, and self-care performance in tuberculosis patients. Methods: The participants consisted of 140 outpatients who had been diagnosed with tuberculosis in S University Hospital. Data were derived from self-report questionnaires and analyzed by SPSS 22.0. Statistical analysis included descriptive statistics and Pearson's correlation coefficients analysis. Results: Means of stress and self-care performance were 1.76 and 3.21, respectively. Percentage of correct answer of knowledge about tuberculosis was 71.8. Knowledge about tuberculosis was significantly different according to age (F=21.81, p<.001), marital status (F=13.79, p<.001), education (F=36.63, p<.001), and monthly income (F=16.23, p<.001). Stress was significantly different according to gender (t=3.58, p<.001). Self-care performance was significantly different according to age (F=5.74, p=.004), marital status (F=8.79, p<.001), education (F=9.15, p<.001), monthly income (F=7.87, p=.001), and attendance of tuberculosis education (t=2.34, p=.020). Self-care performance had significant correlation with knowledge about tuberculosis and stress. Conclusion: This study suggests that knowledge about tuberculosis and stress had significant correlations with self-care performance. Therefore, the nursing strategies of increasing knowledge about tuberculosis and decreasing stress which improve self-care performance should be developed for tuberculosis patients.
Organizations continue to invest heavily in the acquisition of knowledge management systems (KMS). The overriding belief is that KMS-task fit will become more productive. A survey of users was conducted to better understand the factors that affect KMS-task fit to better explain KMS performance perspective on knowledge circulation process. This involves stating the research hypotheses among the following constructs: the characteristics of KMS, the fitness of task characteristics, and KMS performance. The findings indicate that the characteristics of KMS positively affect the fitness of task characteristics. The fitness of task characteristics are affecting KMS performance. The results of this study suggest that task-technology fit could be the basis for a strong diagnostic tool to evaluate whether KMS in a given organization are meeting user needs.
The purpose of this paper is to review a variety of challenges facing the Human Performance Technology (HPT) in supporting knowledge workers' performance, and to explore possible HPT models for knowledge workers. The first section of this paper investigates the core attributes and major models of HPT as a foundation. While HPT has a lot of strengths in terms of systemic, systematic, methodologically eclectic, evidence based, and results oriented approaches, some pitfalls - which could be detected if these principles were mindlessly applied to problem areas - are explored. The second section presents some considerations such as analysis, intervention design, and leadership that HP technologists need to take in order to make HPT a better field of practice for knowledge workers. The author also suggests a tentative diagnostic model and a process model for knowledge workers, core principles of which are based on systems thinking, in particular Senge's the fifth discipline and Checkland's soft systems methodology. The importance of formative evaluations to improve these models is noted as a conclusion.
