  • 플랜트 건설공사의 경우 최근 매우 복잡화, 전문화, 대형화되고 있고, 이에 따라 지속적으로 첨단기술접목과 함께 고부가가치 창출이 예상되고 있어 더욱 고도화된 사업관리계획과 더불어 전문인력 양성, 지식정보의 공유가 필수적으로 성장의 기본 요건으로 자리매김하고 있는 추세이다. 이에 따라 본 연구는 플랜트 건설산업의 경쟁력 강화를 위하여 관련 현황을 분석하고, 기업의 특성에 맞춘 유연한 Knowledge Management System(KMS) prototype을 구축, 웹 환경기반의 Portal에 연동한 시스템을 제시하고자 한다.

ACL과 CORBA를 이용한 선박 초기설계 에이전트 시스템에 관한 연구 (A Study on Ship Initial Design Agent System Based on ACL and CORBA)

  • The paper proposed a basic architecture of an agent system to support exchange and sharing of design informations by means of ACL(Agent Communication Language) which can represent design informations and knowledges. Based on the architecture of the agent system a ship initial design agent system was implemented in order to show the effectiveness of the agent-based system. The basic architecture of the agent consists of an ACL handlerand CORBA(Common Object Request Broker Architecture) objects for the exchange of ACL messages in the heterogeneous and distributed environment. The ACL handler can process expressions of knowledge and manage communication messages among the agents. The paper mainly focuses on the implementation of the ACL handler. The ACL handler consist of a KQML(Knowledge Query and Manipulation Language) handler that manages KQML messages, a conversation module, and a content handler that handles message contents. The conversation modulo implements conversation policies and checks all messages if they are allowable and meaningful messages based on the conversation policies. The implemented agent-based system was applied to the ship initial design to show the handling procedure of the agent system.

Tacit Knowledge in Government-led R&D Project Selection

  • This paper explains that tacit knowledge is a critical component for the success of government-led R&D project selection, where rapid and accurate decision making need to be made under lack of information circumstances. It also explores ways to fully exploit the tacit knowledge of experts participating in the Korean government's R&D project selection process. Some of these include: (1) strategic attention from the top officials, (2) forming self-organizing teams, (3) establishing a horizontal and risk-taking culture, (4) encouraging a sense of responsibility in creating and sharing tacit knowledge, and (5) providing a seamless monitoring system and training.

공공부문에서의 지식기여 영향요인에 관한 연구 (A Study on the Factors Affecting Knowledge Contribution in the Public Sector)

  • 본 연구의 목적은 지식기여 활동의 영향요인을 분석하고, 지식기여 활성화 방안을 모색하는데 있다. 특히 본 연구에서는 공공부문을 대상으로 온라인에서의 지식기여와 오프라인에서의 지식기여 활동에 영향을 미치는 요인을 분석하고, 이를 통해 지식기여 활성화 방안을 제시하고자 하였다. 구조방정식 모형 분석을 통한 가설검증 결과, 온라인 지식기여와 오프라인 지식기여에 유의미한 영향을 미치는 요인으로는 지지적 리더십, 내재적 동기, 지식품질 등으로 나타났다. 이러한 분석결과를 토대로 본 연구에서는 지식기여 활성화를 위한 전략 및 함의를 제시하였다.

분산 웹 환경에서 다중 온톨로지를 기반으로 한 지식공유방식 (Method of Knowledge Sharing Based on Multiple Ontology on the Distributed Web Environment)

  • 본 논문에서는 인터넷상에 연결된 유휴자원을 이용한 분산 웹 환경에서 각 시스템 상에 저장된 지식을 공유·재이용 하기 위한 온톨로지 다중화 연구를 수행한다. 온톨로지의 다중화란 동일지식에 의하여 구축된 온톨로지를 다른 온톨로지와 지식공유가 가능하도록 변환하는 것이다. 본 연구에서는 이러한 분산웹 온톨로지 다중화 시스템을 구성하기 위하여 분산웹 환경구축방안과 함께 지식의 공유 및 재 이용을 위한 다중 온톨로지 구성이라는 두 가지 관점 하에서 접근한다. 구성된 시스템은 지니기술을 이용하여 이기종간의 확장성과 효율성을 지닌 웹 컴퓨팅환경을 구축하였고, 또한 분산작업을 통하여 분산 웹 환경 하에서의 다중 온톨로지간의 실질적인 지식변환과정이 잘 전개됨을 볼 수 있다.

CPC 환경을 위한 Product 온톨로지 기반 의미 공유 접근법 (An Approach to Semantic Mapping using Product Ontology for CPC Environment)

  • This paper introduces an approach to semantic mapping using Product ontology for CPC environment. In CPC environment, it is necessary that the participants in a product life cycle should share the same understanding about the semantic of product terms. For example, they should know that although 'COMPONENT' and 'ITEM' are different word-expressions, they could have the same meaning. In order to handle such terms in the information system, it is desirable that the system automatically recognizes that the terms have the same semantics. Serving this purpose, we described an ontology design methodology using first order logic, knowledge interchange format, and knowledge engineering process. In our approach, we investigated domain knowledge of the Bill Of Material, and then designed Product ontology of it. Based on the ontology, we described syntactic translation, semantic translation, and semantic mapping procedure with an example.

  • More and more organizations in construction industry adopt knowledge management system (KMS) to facilitate process of creating, acquiring, capturing, sharing, and using knowledge so as to improve the competitiveness, productivity and efficiency of their organization. In spite of the tremendous efforts devoted to KMS, the return of investment on KMS is usually a black box to the investor due to the lack of a systematic framework for performance evaluation of the KMS. This paper aims at fulfilling such need. A conceptual performance evaluation framework is proposed based on Balanced Scorecard (BSC) method. Then a preliminary case study is conducted to assess the applicability of the proposed framework in an A/E consulting firm to evaluate the performance of KMS.

Establishment of "A-PPNS", A Navigation System for Regenerating the Software Development Business

  • Currently, knowledge within the field of software development is largely implicit and is not formally disseminated and shared. This means that there is little improvement and regeneration of processes, and knowledge gained from previous projects is not necessarily applied to new ones. In order to turn this situation around it is necessary to take an organized approach to sharing job-related information. For this study, the authors constructed "Amalab-Project Planning Navigation System, or A-PPNS", a system for organizing accumulated knowledge related to the field of software development. More specifically, A-PPNS is a business process monitoring system and consists of the following four elements: (i) Optimized estimate support subsystem, (ii) Schedule monitoring system, (iii) QCD optimization diagnostic system, and (iv) Strategic technology accumulation system. The effectiveness of this system has been demonstrated and verified at Company A, a system integration company.

지식관리시스템의 도입요인이 조직성과에 미치는 영향 -조직 및 정보기술특성 관점에서- (Effects of Introduction of Knowledge Management System in Relation to Organizational Performance - focused on management factors and information technology factors)

  • 본 연구는 지식관리시스템을 도입하여 운영 중인 기업체와 기관들을 대상으로 지식관리시스템의 도입요인이 조직성과에 미치는 영향을 실증적으로 검증하였다. 본 연구의 목적은 지식관리시스템의 도입요인들이 조직의 성과에 어떠한 영향을 미치는지를 실증적으로 분석하여 조직에서 지식관리시스템도입과 운영에서 고려할 전략적 지침을 제시하고자 함이다. 연구결과, 관리요인의 하위변수인 학습의 조직화, 평가와 보상체계, 조직의 신뢰, 지식의 공유 활동은 조직성과에 모두 유의한 영향을 미치는 것으로 분석되었고, 정보기술특성의 하위변수 중 정보기술 기반구조도 통계적으로 유의한 결과를 보여 조직성과에 영향을 주는 것으로 분석되었다. 그러나 정보기술 성숙도와 시스템 구성의 우수성은 조직성과에 영향을 미치지 않는 것으로 분석되었다.

팀 네트워크 특성과 경계관리 활동이 지식경영 성과에 미치는 영향: 팀 신뢰의 매개역할 (The Effects of Team Network Characteristics and Boundary Spanning Activities on Knowledge Management Performances: The Mediating Role of Trust)

  • The effective management of knowledge has become one of the critical success factors in current organizations. In spite of the extensive use of Knowledge Management System (KMS), useful information and knowledge resources are still transmitted through personal networks among people in organizations. Thus, social network theory which focuses on social relationships in organization can be a fruitful theoretical resource for enhancing Knowledge Management (KM) performances. In this study, we investigate the effects of intra-team network characteristics (i.e., group density and degree of centralization) and external boundary spanning activities on knowledge management performances of a team. We also acknowledge that all group members do not necessarily agree on the team goal and actively disseminate useful information and knowledge. Drawing on the political perspective on KM which emphasizes the role of trust among group members, we examine the mediating effects of team trust between internal/external network characteristics and KM performances. From the data of 220 teams in financial companies in Korea, we found that: (1) group density had positive effects on KM performances (i.e., knowledge creation, sharing, and use). (2) However, centralization was not significantly associated with KM performances. (3) Team trust was found to be an important factor mediating the relationship between intra-team network characteristics, boundary spanning activities, and KM performances. Based on these results, we discuss and suggest possible implications of the findings when designing and implementing KM practices.
