This paper introduces a new method for storing a private key. This method can be achieved by dividing the private key into "n" pieces by a (k, n) secret sharing method, and then storing each piece into photo files utilizing a steganography method. In this way, a user can restore a private key as long as he can remember the locations of "k" photos among the entire photo files. Attackers, meanwhile, will find it extremely difficult to extract the private key if a user has hidden the pieces of the private key into numerous photo files stored in the system. It also provides a high degree of user convenience, as the user can restore the private key from his memory of k positions among n photo files. Coupled with this, a certain level of security can be guaranteed because the attacker cannot restore a private key, even if he knows k-1 photo file locations.
Purpose - This study posits that sustainable mobility of the sharing economy plays a key role to consider environment benefits. The purpose of this study is to investigate the bicycle-sharing economy as an emerging and alternative mode of transportation service and provide managerial and policy implications. The bicycle-sharing economy is still at an early stage of introduction as a transportation mode, while the governmental sector is promoting public bicycle-sharing to encourage bicycle as a substitute for private cars. Research design, data, and methodology - This study analyzed the current status of bicycle sharing programs through a survey that was distributed randomly to users and non-users across the country. Using factor analysis, satisfaction and loyalty for the existing users and intention to use and expected satisfaction for the potential users were examined in relation to utility factors. Results - The results show that economic utility affects satisfaction for user, while storage, mobility, and economic utility affects intention to use for potential users. The findings of this study indicate that in order to promote a bicycle-sharing scheme, it would be better to focus on the scheme's economic advantage to be truly effective. Conclusions - The findings of the study could be applicable to future directions of the sharing economy as a means to achieve the sustainable development of society.
The redactable signature scheme was introduced by Johnson and others in 2002 as a mechanism to support disclosing verifiable subdocuments of a signed document. In their paper, a redactable signature based on RSA was presented. In 2009, Nojima and others presented a redactable signature scheme based on RSA. Both schemes are very efficient in terms of storage. However, the schemes need mechanisms to share random prime numbers, which causes huge time consuming computation. Moreover, the public key in the scheme of Johnson and others is designed to be used only once. In this paper, we improve the computational efficiency of these schemes by eliminating the use of a random prime sharing mechanism while sustaining the storage efficiency of them. The size of our signature scheme is the same as that of the standard RSA signature scheme plus the size of the security parameter. In our scheme, the public key can be used multiple times, and more efficient key management than the scheme of Johnson and others is possible. We also prove that the security of our scheme is reduced to the security of the full domain RSA signature scheme.

Data outsourcing in the cloud (DOC) is a promising solution for data management at the present time, but it could result in the disclosure of outsourced data to unauthorized users. Therefore, protecting the confidentiality of such data has become a very challenging issue. The conventional way to achieve data confidentiality is to encrypt the data via asymmetric or symmetric encryptions before outsourcing. However, this is computationally inefficient because encryption/decryption operations are time-consuming. In recent years, a few DOC schemes based on secret sharing have emerged due to their low computational complexity. However, Dautrich and Ravishankar pointed out that most of them are insecure against certain kinds of collusion attacks. In this paper, we proposed a novel DOC scheme based on Shamir's secret sharing to overcome the security issues of these schemes. Our scheme can allow an authorized data user to recover all data files in a specified subset at once rather than one file at a time as required by other schemes that are based on secret sharing. Our thorough analyses showed that our proposed scheme is secure and that its performance is satisfactory.

Post-Quantum Cryptography (PQC) is rapidly developing as a stable and reliable quantum-resistant form of cryptography, throughout the industry. Similarly to existing cryptography, however, it does not prevent a third-party from using the secret key when third party obtains the secret key by deception, unauthorized sharing, or unauthorized proxying. The most effective alternative to preventing such illegal use is the utilization of biometrics during the generation of the secret key. In this paper, we propose a biometric-based secret key generation scheme for multivariate quadratic signature schemes, such as Rainbow. This prevents the secret key from being used by an unauthorized third party through biometric recognition. It also generates a shorter secret key by applying Principal Component Analysis (PCA)-based Confidence Interval Analysis (CIA) as a feature extraction method. This scheme's optimized implementation performed well at high speeds.

Threshold ring signature scheme enables any t entities from N ring members to spontaneously generate a publicly verifiable t-out-of-N signature anonymously. The verifier is convinced that the signature is indeed generated by at least t users from the claimed group, but he cannot tell them apart. Threshold ring signatures are significant for ad-hoc groups such as mobile ad-hoc networks. Based on the lattice-based ring signature proposed by Melchor et al. at AFRICRYPT'13, this work presents a lattice-based threshold ring signature scheme, employing the technique of message block sharing proposed by Choi and Kim. Besides, in order to avoid the system parameter setup problems, we proposed a message processing technique called "pad-then-permute", to pre-process the message before blocking the message, thus making the threshold ring signature scheme more flexible. Our threshold ring signature scheme has several advantages: inherits the quantum immunity from the lattice structure; has considerably short signature and almost no signature size increase with the threshold value; provable to be correct, efficient, indistinguishable source hiding, and unforgeable.
Security in wireless sensor networks (WSNs) is an upcoming research field which is quite different from traditional network security mechanisms. Many applications are dependent on the secure operation of a WSN, and have serious effects if the network is disrupted. Therefore, it is necessary to protect communication between sensor nodes. Key management plays an essential role in achieving security in WSNs. To achieve security, various key predistribution schemes have been proposed in the literature. A secure key management technique in WSN is a real challenging task. In this paper, a novel approach to the above problem by making use of elliptic curve cryptography (ECC) is presented. In the proposed scheme, a seed key, which is a distinct point in an elliptic curve, is assigned to each sensor node prior to its deployment. The private key ring for each sensor node is generated using the point doubling mathematical operation over the seed key. When two nodes share a common private key, then a link is established between these two nodes. By suitably choosing the value of the prime field and key ring size, the probability of two nodes sharing the same private key could be increased. The performance is evaluated in terms of connectivity and resilience against node capture. The results show that the performance is better for the proposed scheme with ECC compared to the other basic schemes.

To ensure the security of wireless sensor networks, it is important to have a robust key management scheme. In this paper, we propose a Quorum-based key management scheme. A specific sensor, called as key distribution server (KDS), generates a key matrix and establishes a quorum system from the key matrix. The quorum system is a set system of subsets that the intersection of any two subsets is non-empty. In our scheme, each sensor is assigned a subset of the quorum system as its pre-distributed keys. Whenever any two sensors need a shared key, they exchange their IDs, and then each sensor by itself finds a common key from its assigned subset. A shared key is then generated by the two sensors individually based on the common key. By our scheme, no key is needed to be refreshed as a sensor leaves the network. Upon a sensor joining the network, the KDS broadcasts a message containing the joining sensor ID. After receiving the broadcast message, each sensor updates the key which is in common with the new joining one. Only XOR and hash operations are required to be executed during key update process, and each sensor needs to update one key only. Furthermore, if multiple sensors would like to have a secure group communication, the KDS broadcasts a message containing the partial information of a group key, and then each sensor in the group by itself is able to restore the group key by using the secret sharing technique without cooperating with other sensors in the group.

In this paper, we propose a group key management scheme for very high confidential information in tactical wireless networks. For the proposed scheme, we consider the tactical networks that has a hierarchical topology and the nature of high confidential information. The leader node, which may have higher probability of good channel state than others, provides some data to all the network member in order to generate a geographical group key and it transmits the encrypted information with minimum transmission power level to others. By this scheme, the security and reliability for sharing confidential information is ensured. The performance of the proposed scheme is validated by mathematical analysis. It shows that the proposed scheme makes nodes to share a high confidential information securely if the proper parameters for network design are selected.
This paper has presented three types of key recovery methods, which are known as key escrow, key encapsulation, and trusted third party scheme. we have analyzed the existing key recovery products, which have been developed by the advanced nations for electronic commerce and electronic government. we have also analyzed the key recovery policies proposed by the advanced nations, such as The United States of America, Great Britain, and Japan. In this paper, several key recovery policies are proposed for the e-commerce and e-government system. And we have proposed key recovery scheme for the e-commerce system utilizing the on-line secret sharing scheme based on the Internet and public bulletin board.
