  • In the modern academic research environment, the advancement of digital technology provides researchers with increasingly diverse and rich access to information, but at the same time, the issue of author identification has emerged as a new challenge. The problem of author identification is a major factor that undermines the transparency and accuracy of academic communication, potentially causing confusion in the accurate attribution of research results and the construction of research networks. In response, identifier systems such as the International Standard Name Identifier (ISNI) and Open Researcher and Contributor ID (ORCID) have been introduced, but still face limitations due to low participation by authors and inaccurate entry of information. This study focuses on researching information management methods for identification from the moment author information is first entered into the system, proposing ways to improve the accuracy of author identification and maximize the efficiency of academic information services. Through this, it aims to renew awareness of the issue of author identification within the academic community and present concrete measures that related institutions and researchers can take to solve this problem.

  • With the increasing use of drone technology, the Unmanned Aerial Vehicle (UAV) is now being utilized in various fields. However, this increased use of drones has resulted in various issues. Due to its small size, the drone is difficult to detect with radar or optical equipment, so acoustical tracking methods have been recently applied. In this paper, a method of localization of multiple drones using the acoustic characteristics of the quadcopter drone is suggested. Because the acoustic characteristics induced by each rotor are differentiated depending on the type of drone and its movement state, the sound source of the drone can be reconstructed by spatially clustering the results of the estimated positions of the blade passing frequency and its harmonic sound source. The reconstructed sound sources are utilized to finally determine the location of multiple-drone sound sources by applying the source localization algorithm. An experiment is conducted to analyze the acoustic characteristics of the test quadcopter drones, and the simulations for three different types of drones are conducted to localize the multiple drones based on the measured acoustic signals. The test result shows that the location of multiple drones can be estimated by utilizing the acoustic characteristics of the drone. Also, one can see that the clarity of the separated drone sound source and the source localization algorithm affect the accuracy of the localization for multiple-drone sound sources.

  • Background and Objectives: De-escalation of dual-antiplatelet therapy through dose reduction of prasugrel improved net adverse clinical events (NACEs) after acute coronary syndrome (ACS), mainly through the reduction of bleeding without an increase in ischemic outcomes. Whether the benefits of de-escalation are sustained in highly thrombotic conditions such as ST-elevation myocardial infarction (STEMI) is unknown. We aimed to assess the efficacy and safety of de-escalation therapy in patients with STEMI or non-ST-segment elevation ACS (NSTE-ACS). Methods: This is a pre-specified subgroup analysis of the HOST-REDUCE-POLYTECH-ACS trial. ACS patients were randomized to prasugrel de-escalation (5 mg daily) or conventional dose (10 mg daily) at 1-month post-percutaneous coronary intervention. The primary endpoint was a NACE, defined as a composite of all-cause death, non-fatal myocardial infarction, stent thrombosis, clinically driven revascularization, stroke, and bleeding events of grade ≥2 Bleeding Academic Research Consortium (BARC) criteria at 1 year. Results: Among 2,338 patients included in the randomization, 326 patients were diagnosed with STEMI. In patients with NSTE-ACS, the risk of the primary endpoint was significantly reduced with de-escalation (hazard ratio [HR], 0.65; 95% confidence interval [CI], 0.48-0.89; p=0.006 for de-escalation vs. conventional), mainly driven by a reduced bleeding. However, in those with STEMI, there was no difference in the occurrence of the primary outcome (HR, 1.04; 95% CI, 0.48-2.26; p=0.915; p for interaction=0.271). Conclusions: Prasugrel dose de-escalation reduced the rate of NACE and bleeding, without increasing the rate of ischemic events in NSTE-ACS patients but not in STEMI patients.

  • Recently, interest in renewable energy development has been increasing to promote carbon-neutral policies. Agrivoltaic is a solar power generation facility with the potential to aid in meeting carbon-neutral policies. It has the advantage of generating electricity while farming takes place, but it also has the disadvantage of reducing crop yield and cultivation safety. We analyzed the rice yield, quality, and stem growth characteristics according to different transplanting densities under agrivoltaics. Under agrivoltaics, the number of rice panicles was reduced by the shading effect, but the reduction was lower under 60 hills than under 80 and 100 hills. Brown rice perfect ratio was increased under 60 hills under agrivoltaics. Brown rice yield did not differ significantly between 60 and 80 hills under agrivoltaics. However, stem dry weight by unit(mg/cm) in each internode showed highest under 60 hills compared to 80 and 100 hills under agrivoltaics. Therefore, 60 hill density was considered appropriate to ensure cultivation safety and yield when cultivated rice under agrivoltaics.

  • This study investigated 575 cultivated soybean landraces from different provinces in Korea, using 17 key agromorphological traits. The studied soybeans showed wide variations in both qualitative and quantitative traits, signifying the existence of genetic diversity. The standardized Shannon-Weaver index (H') ranged from 0.3 to 1.0, with seed-related traits having an H' value higher than 0.7. Similarly, quantitative traits showed significant variation, with the coefficient of variation ranging from 7.2% for days to maturity (DM) to 62.3% for the number of pods per plant (PPP). In terms of province, the Gyeongsangbuk-do and Gyeongsangnam-do accessions differed from the other accessions, with higher proportions of green and yellow seed coats and lower proportion of black hilums. Gyeongsangnam-do accessions also showed early maturation and flowering but had the lowest average one-hundred seeds weight (HSW). In contrast, Jeollanam-do accessions flowered and matured late but had the highest average seed weight per plant (SWPP). Hierarchical cluster analysis grouped the soybeans into 12 clusters, and further statistical analysis showed significant variations in all quantitative traits (p < 0.05). Principal component analysis grouped the accessions based on the clusters. DM, PPP, HSW, and SWPP were identified as major contributors to the observed variance along the axes of the first two principal components. Correlation analysis revealed significant associations between maturity and yield-related traits. Based on their relative performance, 37 promising accessions were identified. Overall, this study highlights the diversity of recently cultivated Korean soybean landraces and provides opportunities for future metabolomic and genomic studies.

  • The risk of global warming is increasing due to rapid climate change and increased greenhouse gas (GHG) emissions. Among the greenhouse gases, methane has a strong warming effect; in particular, 51.2% of the agricultural sector's methane emissions are from flooded rice fields. According to the current standard rice cultivation method, rice is grown during the maximum tillering stage with an intermittent drainage period of approximately 2 weeks. During the flooding period, methane-producing bacteria are active, but the activity of methane-producing bacteria and the amount of methane gas produced are reduced when the soil becomes oxidized through watering. Accordingly, this study used multiple-sensing technology to analyze the growth response according to the intermittent drainage period and to identify the extended intermittent drainage period with less impact on rice production. The equipment used for growth observations included NDVI, PRI, and IR sensors. The results confirmed that growth indices related to stress, such as NDVI and PRI, were not significantly different from those of the control when treated within 3 weeks of drainage, but drastically decreased when the drainage period was extended beyond 4 weeks. These results appear to result from the fact that soil water content (volumetric water content) also dropped to below 20% 4 weeks after irrigation, creating actual drought stress conditions. The 22nd day after treatment, when the soil moisture content reached 20%, was considered the point in time when drought stress conditions were formed. The point at which the SPAD value decreased to 0.6% of normal was estimated to be 23.5 days after treatment by using the regression equation between NDVI and SPAD.

  • With the total population of 3,356 worldwide as of 2016, the black-faced spoonbill (Platalea minor) is designated as "endangered (EN)" species by IUCN. About 70% of population breeds on the uninhabited islands near the west coast of Korea and wintering area is Taiwan, China, Hong Kong, etc. However, there is few detail research in Korea and East Asia on black-faced spoonbill's long range migration and its habitat when migrating southward. We studied black-faced spoonbill's migration route, distribution, stopover, wintering sites, and timing of migration movements using a wild-tracker (WT-200, GPS-Mobile phone based telemetry, KoEco). We caught the black-faced spoonbills in the breeding sites (Gugi island, Bi island, Sangyeobawi, Chilsan island) in Korea in late June 2014. We attached the wild-tracker to 10 juvenile black-faced spoonbills. The tracking showed that the black-faced spoonbills started southward migration between late October and early November. The traveling distance to wintering site was maximum at 1,820 km, minimum at 746 km, the average at 1,201km. The maximum daily traveling distance was 1,479 km with an average of 782 km. The average days it took from breeding site to wintering site was 10 days (SD=10.7). The shortest duration was 2 days, and the longest duration was 34 days. Most individuals used 2-3 stopover sites between the breeding sites to the wintering sites and stayed almost 1-2 days (maximum 31 days). Stopover sites were wetlands such as rivers, streams, reservoir, and mud flat. The wintering sites were coastal areas (five individuals) in China, inland (one individual) in China, Taiwan (three individuals), and Japan (one individual). In conclusion, it is necessary to preserve the stopover sites and wintering site of the black-faced spoonbills through consultation and protection policy between countries and establish the systematic preservation measures and activity plans through continued moniting and additional studies.

  • This study is aimed at analyzing the characteristics of adaptation to college life among freshmen of D University by utilizing the DEU-GRIT test. To achieve this, we examined differences in level of college life adaptation according to gender and major, and explored the characteristics of college life adaptation among college freshmen who were clustered based on their level of academic, social, emotional, and career adaptation, which is an important factor in adaptation to college life. Moreover, based on the DEU-GRIT test standards, we also explored the characteristics of their college life adaptation by sorting out low level groups of freshmen with difficulties adapting. The results demonstrated that male students had a higher level of emotional adaptation than female students, and that science and technology majors had higher levels of academic and emotional adaptation than students in the humanities and society majors. Furthermore, a cluster analysis based on 4 factor levels of college life adaptation showed that cluster 1 had a high level of adaptability to all factors, but cluster 3 had a low level of adaptability to all factors. Moreover, while cluster 2 showed a high level of emotional adaptation, cluster 4 showed a low level of emotional adaptation. On the other hand, a lower-standard group of DEU-GRIT tests showed that the level of academic adaptation and social adaptation was higher among female students than among male students. However, the overall level of college life, academic, and emotional adaptation were higher among science and technology students than among those majoring in humanities and social studies. In addition, a cluster analysis based on the level of 4 factors of college life adaptation of lower-standard groups showed that cluster 1 of the lower-standard groups had a high level of emotional adaptation, while cluster 2 of the lower-standard groups had a low level of emotional and career adaptation and a high level of academic and social adaptation. Also, cluster 3 of the lower-standard groups was found to have low levels of all factors, and cluster 4 of the lower-standard groups showed low levels of social and emotional adaptation and high levels of academic and career adaptation. This indicates that, in terms of social and emotional adaptation among freshmen, participation in psychological counseling programs tailored according to gender is necessary and, regarding the major, relative emotional intervention is required due to the high and low expectations of job prospects. In conclusion, the emotional and social adaptation to college life among the lower-level groups is likely to serve as a protective factor for college life adaptation, suggesting that specific intervention should be contemplated.

  • Purpose : 99mTc DMSA renal scan have been widely used not only for tile evaluation of renal scars but also for the diagnosis of acute pyelonephritis. Recent studies have shown SPECT images have higher accuracy than the planar images with some controversy. We evaluated the availability of the SPECT images adding to planar images for the diagnosis of acute pyelonephritis(APN) and renal scar in children with urinary tract infection (UTI). Methods : 130 children with UTI (260 kidney units) and 22 follow-up children (44 kidney units) were included between January 1, 1997 and July 31, 1999 at Ewha University Mokdong Hospital. Planar Anterior and posterior images and SPECT axial and coronal images of 99mTc DMSA renal scan were obtained with Starcam 4000-i U.S.A. GE at 3 hours after 99mTc DMSA I.V. injection. The data were analyzed by Chi square test after Yates's correction. Results : The detection rate of the acute pyelonephritis by SPECT images was 12.3$\%$ higher than that of planar images ($47.7\%\;vs\;35.4\%$) by the patient and 6.9$\%$ higher also ($31.9\%\;vs\;25.4\%$) by the kidney unit. 18 kidney units with negative planar images had focal defect in 10 kidney units (3.8$\%$) and multifocal defect in 8 kidney units (3.1$\%$) on SPECT images, but 1 kidney unit with positive planar image had negative SPECT image. SPECT images were superior to tile planar images in 17.3$\%$. identical in 82.3$\%$ and inferior in 0.4$\%$ to planar image. The detection rate of tile renal scars by SPECT images was 13.7$\%$ higher than planar images by the patient ($68.2\%\;vs\;54.5\%$) and 6.8$\%$ higher also ($43.2\%\;vs\;36.4\%$) by the kidney unit. SPECT images were superior to the planar images in 17.3$\%$ and identical in 82.3$\%$ to planar image. Conclusion SPECT images had shown higher detection rate and better image than planar images for the diagnosis of the acute pyelonephritis and the evaluation of the renal scars. (J. • Purpose: This study was aimed to evaluate the effect of different sizes of $\beta$-TCP/ HA particles on vertical bone augmentation using titanium mesh in the cranium of rabbits. Materials and methods: Six white rabbits weighing 5kg were used. Four circular grooves of 6mm diameter were made by trephine, and five small holes were drilled in the inner surface of each circular gooves. Different sizes of grafts (small 0.3 - 0.5 mm, medium 0.5 - 1.0, large 1.0 - 2.0 mm) were placed respectively in the experimental groups. Titanium mesh (height 3 mm, width 6 mm) was placed. After 8weeks healing period, the rabbits were euthanized, and the specimens were prepared for histological findings. New bone formation and remaining graft area were measured to calculate the ratio of areas occupying the inner space of titanium mesh. Mann-Whitney U-test and Wilcoxon signed rank-test were used for statistical analysis ($\alpha$ = .05). Results: The experimental groups with $\beta$-TCP/HA graft showed a significantly higher new bone formation (P = .003). Comparing different sizes of $\beta$-TCP/HA, there was no statistical difference in terms of new bone formation. The vertical bone formation (i.e. new bone and graft area) was significantly greater in $\beta$-TCP/HA groups (P = .001). In comparison between different sizes of $\beta$-TCP/HA, medium size group had significantly greater area than large particle size group (P = .039). Conclusion: The use of $\beta$-TCP/HA with titanium mesh showed a higher vertical bone formation, particularly the medium sized $\beta$-TCP/HA particles (0.5 - 1.0 mm) produced better results in vertical bone augmentation.
