Pain disorder is the chronic syndrome that onset and change of pain is associated with mood change. But the patient of pain disorder can't perceive their inner conflict. We experienced a 58 year-old woman who had general pain, and whose condition was improved through oriental medical treatment. In this case, we assessed the pain disorder patient at MMPI. So we learned out the patient's inner conflict and dynamic. The applicability of understanding with MMPI has positive effects on the patient with Panic disorder.

Objectives: Alzheimer's Dementia is somewhat common in clinical stages, and there are many reports and papers regarding this subject. We explain the present state of Alzheimer's Dementia in JON (The Journal of Oriental Neuropsychiatry) for the benefits of clinical practice. Methods: We searched for articles in JON from 1990 to 2014 and selected ones that were related to Alzheimer's Dementia; then, we analyzed the data and placed it in four categories, like experimental study, case study, Clinical Data-Analysis study, and clinical trial. Results: 1) We found 47 articles relating to Alzheimer's Dementia in JON from 1997 to 2014: 41 experimental studies, 1 case study, 1 Clinical Data-Analysis study, and 4 Clinical trials. 2) There were Chung-kyung Acupuncture Method, Auricular acupuncture, and Cha-rak Acupuncture Method to treat Alzheimer's Dementia. 3) There were many additional treatments, like aroma therapy. 4) In the experimental study, they reported on several herbs, including herbal prescriptions that affected the suppression of related mRNAs and genes. 5) There were 4 clinical trials regarding herbal prescription that was effective for treating Alzheimer's Dementia. Conclusions: In JON, regarding Alzheimer's Dementia, the majority dealt with experimental studies. Therefore, we also have to expand our sight into other fields of study. We need more clinical trials and case studies for the treatment of Alzheimer's Dementia in Oriental Neuropsychiatry.

Hwabyung is an illness due to stagnated emotion accumulated for a long time and is not rare in the area of neuropsyhchiatric clinics in Korea. It has been widely used among Korean people, and was introduced as culture bound syndrome in DSM-IV. The purpose of this study was to investigate the origin of Hwabyung, and concepts using at past. Hwabyung is described in 'Choson Wangjo Silok' in 1603 (Sonjo 37th year) at first. The explanation about Hwabyung in 'Choson Wangjo Silok' contain etiology, pathology, symptoms and treatment, is closely related with the meaning through Korean Traditional Medicine.

Objectives: Tremor is a common disorder causing abnormal movements, it is defined as, "rhythmic, involuntary movements of a part of the body against ones own volition.". The purpose of this study is to report the effects of Korean Medicine (Acupuncture and herbal-medication) for oromandibular tremor resulting from Deficiency Syndrome. Methods: We treated 6 patients suffering from oromandibular tremor who received hospital treatment in DongEui Medical Center from March to June in 2015. Results: After the treatments, oromandibular tremor decreased or disappeared. And some other accompanying symptoms were improved. Conclusions: These results suggests that Korean medical treatments (Acupuncture and herb-medication) might be effective for treating oromandibular tremor resulting from Deficiency Syndrome.

Objectives : There has not been the comparison research of medication on the Insomnia as the complementary significance of the Oriental-Western Cooperative Therapeutic Viewpoint so far. The aim of this preliminary research is to study Eastern and Western Medication Model for the Insomnia through the comparison of Oriental Medication based on "Sang Han Lon" and "Dong yui bo gam". Methods : The author researched oriental-western viewpoints and the present treatment condition of Sleep and Sleeping Pills with reference to Korean articles issued since 1975, dissertations, journals registered or candidated on KCI, alternative medicine journals on Pubmed, and books concerning Neuropsychiatry. In the field of Oriental medical study, this study was demonstrated on "The Oriental Medical textbook of neuropsychiatry", "Sang han lon", "Dong yui bo gam" and the present research trend. Results : In Oriental Medicine, Insomnia is treated according to si-jie-bu-shui-zung (思結不睡證) type, rong-xie-bu-zu-zung (榮血不足證) type, yin-her-nae-re-zung (陰虛內熱證) type, xin-dan-her-qie-zung (心膽虛怯證) type, dam-xian-yu-jie-zung (痰涎鬱結證) type, and wei-zhong-bu-he-zung (胃中不和證) type etc. In Western Medicine, Insomnia has been treated by Barbiturate over 60's and BZ over 70's. According to recent treatment on Insomnia, Zolpidem or Zaleplon, which is short-lived and has less side effects, is used much, and tri-cyclic antidepressants are prescribed on a chronic psycho-physiological insomnia. Conclusions : Generally, Insomnia is being treated by controlling whole ways. The oriental medication is less effective for sleep induction. On the contrary, that of western medication is very effective for sleep induction, but there are many possibilities of side effects. If this two mutual therapy is conducted cooperatively, more effective medical care might be expected. Therefore, it is considered that not only the oriental medical study for sleep induction, but the study of Oriental-Western Cooperative Therapy should be preceded to treat Insomnia from now on.

Oriental Medicine Based Psychotherapy is consisted of 8 sessions which are available for various kinds of patients(mood disorders, somatoform disorders, anxiety disorders, Hwabyung, adjustment disorders etc.). Through 8 sessions, patients were educated on the relationship of mind and body which is the basic concept of oriental medicine and also received several training such as Progressive Muscle Relaxation, Autogenic Training, Breathing Training, Meditation, Qi-training. After these several training they get to think of their problems and inner conflict with people and get some insight about themselves and others, it can help handling their problems. This case report is about the patient with lots of somatic complains through the whole body, who got better after treatment by oriental medicine based psychotherapy added on herbal medicine and acupuncture.

This study report the good reslut for chronic Idiopathic thrombocytopenic purpura(ITP) patient with Herbal medication treatment and Counseling therapy. The case was a 56 years old female who worried about small matters too much. This patient treated in western medicine, However, didn't see any improvement. So, the patient admitted in our hospital. We diagnosied this patient as 'The Defiency of the Spleen energy', caused by too much thinking and concern. Herbal medication(Nokyonggunbitang)and psychotherapy applied to this patient for hospitalized 22 days. The result showed that blood platelet increased at discharged moment(37,000 / ${\mu}{\ell}$) compared with the admission time(19,000 / ${\mu}{\ell}$). The present result indicated that Herbal medication treatment and psychotherapy may play a role elevate and maintain the number of blood platelet.

Attention Deficit Hyperactivity Disorder(ADHD) is a psychiatric disorder, characterized by the primary symptoms of inattention and/or impulsivity and hyperactivity. This study is a clinical report of 1 ADHD child treated witb typical Oriental Medical Tberapy(Herb-med, acupunture, etc,) in Combination with Neurofeedback. Conner's parent rating scale, ADHD Diagnostic System were compared between before and after treatment. The results show the typical Oriental Medical Tberapy in Combination with Neurofeedback is efficient in the treatment of ADHD.

Objective : The aims of this study were to show the clinical state and to investigate depression and anxiety by BDI and STAI scale in tension headache patients. Method : The patient group was consisted of the 20 patients with Tension Headache who were treated in Department of Neuropsychiatry, Daejeon University Oriental Hospital from 3 March 2003 to 30 September 2003. The control group was consisted of the 20 patients on physical therapy with cerebaral vascular disorder in the Daejeon University Cheonan Oriental Hospital. The patient group was investigated by various characteristics, and compared with the control group by BDI and STAI scores. Result : 1. The ratio of female was higher, the 40 aged were higher frequence, in distribution of the period of the clinical history, short term within 1 week was the most.. 2. Tension headache was most frequent at whole portion, neck stiffness, shoulder pain, general body weakness were mainly coexited, and the prescription invigorating spleen supplementing qi and tonifying qi and blood. 3. The BDI score was higher in patient group, but there was no significant difference 4. The STAI score was higher in patient group, but there was no significant difference.

Objectives : This study was done to investigate the relativity of thermography to HRV(heart rate variability) in Sasang constitutional groups. Methods : We investigated 87 healthy workers consisted of 10 Taeumin, 47 Soeumin, 30 Soyangin. After diagnosing the Sasang constitution by QSCCII(Questionnaire for the Sasang Constitutional Classification), we ana lysed their HRV -time domain and frequency domain and also checked their thermography in April 2009. Results & Conclusions : Analysing the thermography, The whole skin temperature was showed equaly in many Taeumin, the face, Upper burner skin temperature was showed high in many Soeumin, and the abdomen skin temperature was showed low in many Soyangin. The relativity of the sympathetic index to skin temperature was high in Taeumin. The higher sympathetic index, the higher Upper burner skin temperature in Taeumin, the higer most of the skin temperature in Soyangin, lower the whole skin temperature in Soeumin.
