Objective : The Purpose of this research is to examine the effect of Sa-am acupuncture treatment(Sim-seungkyuk) for major symptoms of Hwa-byung. Method : In this randomized, single blind, placebo-controlled study, we compared active acupuncture with sham acupuncture in the treatment for major symptoms of Hwa-byung. likert scale(5 score) for major symptom of Hwa-byung was measured as the 1st evaluative instrument, and STAXI-K, STAI-K, BDI-K and HRV were also measured as the 2nd evaluative instrument at the before treatment and after treatment. Results : 26 volunteers participated in this study by dividing two groups, each 13 persons in trial group and control group at random. In comparison of likert scale for major symptoms, after treatment the total score of likert scale for major symptoms decreased significantly in both group than before treatment. And after treatment, the total score of trial group decreased less than those of control group in comparison between two groups. especially after 2 weeks from all treatment, there was significant difference between two groups. Conclusion : We considered that Shim-seungkyuk of Sa-am acupuncture treatment will be not recommended to treatment of Hwa-byung because this study could not prove effect of Shim-seungkyuk treatment for Hwa-hyung in spite of preliminary study. This study will be used to provide a fundamental data for development of clinical research as preliminary study of Hwa-byung.

본 논문에서는 복잡적응계 이론에 근거하여 공학교육인증제도와 글쓰기와의 관계를 분석하고 효과적인 공학적 글쓰기 교육 방법을 연구하였다. 인증제도 도입으로 인하여 공학교육은 창발현상을 지속적으로 유지하며 새로운 질서체계를 갖추어 나가고 있는 가운데 의사소통의 중요성을 부각시키고, 다양한 공학적 글쓰기 교육 모형을 요구하고 있다. 이에 대하여 본 연구는 상황학습방법과 글쓰기 포트폴리오 도입 방법을 제안하고, 이를 통해 학생들의 글쓰기 능력향상에 변화가 있었음을 확인하였다. 이러한 논의는 공학교육에서 새로운 공학적 글쓰기 교육 방안을 모색하는 계기가 될 것이다.

This paper presents an integrated multifunctional sensor based on MEMS technology, which can be used or embedded in mobile devices for environmental monitoring. An absolute pressure sensor, a temperature sensor and a humidity sensor are integrated in one silicon chip of which the size is $5mm\times5mm$. The pressure sensor uses a bulk-micromachined diaphragm structure with the piezoresistors. For temperature sensing, a silicon temperature sensor based on the spreading-resistance principle is designed and fabricated. The humidity sensor is a capacitive humidity sensor which has the polyimide film and interdigitated capacitance electrodes. The different piezoresistive orientation is used for the pressure and temperature sensor to avoid the interference between sensors. Each sensor shows good sensor characteristics except for the humidity sensor. However, the linearity and hysteresis of the humidity sensor can be improved by selecting the proper polymer materials and structures.

We consider to obtain an estimate of bivariate survival function for the right censored data with the assumption that the two components of censoring vector are independent. The estimate is derived from an ad hoc approach based on the representation of survival function. Then the resulting estimate can be considered as an extension of the Susarla- Van Ryzin estimate to the bivariate data. Also we show the consistency and weak convergence for the proposed estimate. Finally we compare our estimate with Dabrowska's estimate with an example and discuss some properties of our estimate with brief comment on the extension to the multivariate case.

In this paper, we propose an adaptive contrast enhancement method using dynamic range segmentation. Histogram Equalization (HE) method is widely used for contrast enhancement. However, histogram equalization method is not suitable for commercial display because it may cause undesirable artifacts due to the significant change in brightness. The proposed algorithm segments the dynamic range of the histogram and redistributes the pixel intensities by the segment area ratio. The proposed method may cause over compressed effect when intensity distribution of an original image is concentrated in specific narrow region. In order to overcome this problem, we introduce an adaptive scale factor. The experimental results show that the proposed algorithm suppresses the significant change in brightness and provides wide histogram distribution compared with histogram equalization.

Dimethyl sulfoxide (DMSO) increased the intracellular calcium ion concentration in stably transfected Drosophila melanogaster S2 cells expressing recombinant cyclooxygenase 1 (COX-1). DMSO did not increase the Drosophila NOS (dNOS) transcript level in calcium chelator-treated cells. Expression of recombinant COX-1 due to DMSO was diminished in cells treated with calcium chelators or channel blockers. Our results indicate that an increased intracellular calcium ion concentration due to DMSO is associated with up-regulation of the dNOS gene, leading to enhanced expression of COX-1.

In this study, we propose an integrated CAD(Computer Aided Design) library database in a heterogeneous commercial ECAD(Electronic CAD) environment. To effectively solve engineering problems focused on BOM data extraction we use a software system called schematic capture and company-wide standard electronic part information loaded on different commercial ECADs. We unify many commercial ECADs into one schematic capture and a variety of PCB(Printed Circuit Board) design tools. For this purpose we develope a model for linking CAD symbol library with company-wide standard part information. We also develope a schematic design data conversion scheme and show how to extract PBA level BOM data using our customized schematic capture. This system is being operated in an X-Window based engineering work station and commercial RDBMS base.

This paper is to provide an integration approach between design and process planning for mechanical parts, using feature recognition. We develop a method to extract each individual feature of an object from 3D modeling data using face-edge graph based algorithm and then propose an approach to recognize the volumic form features using heuristic rules. we demonstrate the proposed approaches are effective for such basic shapes as pocket, slot, through hole, etc.

HAPS (High Altitude Platform Station) which is defined as a station located on an object at an altitude of 20 to 50 km and at a specified, nominal, fixed point relative to the earth is a promising technology capable of providing broadband multimedia services. In this study, economical aspects of HAPS service are analyzed by estimating the revenue and costs incurred by the service. To evaluate the profitability of HAPS service, the number of subscribers is estimated and then the net present value (NPV), payback period, and the rate of return on investment (ROI) are calculated under various scenarios.

Integrated coastal management (ICM) requires robust indicators that gauge the 'health' of the coast in relation to environmental, social and economic activities. Biological indicators(bio-indicators) offer a signal of the biological condition in an ecosystem. Using bio-indicators as an early warning of pollution or degradation in an ecosystem can help sustain critical resources. This review examines the rationale and value of selecting species as bio-indicators of human induced changes within estuaries, using examples from both the western and southern coast. It include a range of biological parameters relating to particular species, groups of species and biological processes. The use of these indicators is critically reviewed and the presence or absence of a relevant framework for their use in Korean ICM programs is discussed.
