남자 임상간호사의 경험에 관한 내용분석 (Content Analysis of Male Hospital Nurses' Experiences)

  • Purpose: This study was conducted to identify job experiences of male hospital nurses. Methods: Data were collected from 20 male nurses working at general hospitals, through semi-structured in-depth interviews. The interviews were recorded and subsequently transcribed verbatim. Using content analysis, data were coded and categorized. Results: The analyzed domains were motivations for choosing nursing, occupational experiences (3 subdomains), and attitudes toward the future. A total of 85 significant statements were selected from the data and classified into 32 categories. The nurses' motivations for choosing nursing were advantages of employment, their aptitude, scarcity value of men, professionalism and job security, good promotion, stable income, and family influence. In occupational experiences, they were assigned to special fields and dissatisfied with vertical relationship, promotion system, their salary, and gaps in military service time; they had difficulties in adapting to female-dominated groups and encountered gender role stereotype and preconception; they were satisfied with their distinguished performance, but had damaged self-esteem, and were stressed and disappointed in their work. In their attitudes toward the future, they considered their career changes, but tried to make professional and personal advancement. Conclusion: These findings have implications for recruiting and retaining male nurses in clinical settings.

직업 경력단절 기혼 여성에 대한 질적 연구: 30대 여성의 경력단절 이후의 삶을 중심으로 (A Qualitative Study on the Career-interrupted Lives of Career-Interrupted Women in their thirties)

  • The purpose of this study was to examine the career-interrupted lives of highly educated career-interrupted women. The participants were 11 women in their thirties who had graduated from university graduated and had a child. We collected the qualitative data using a focused group interview. The results of this study can be summarized as follows. First, in personal histories of the career-interrupted women, there were marriages and births, difficulties with child care, priority placed on the family, pressure to retire, and an absence of a layoff system related to births and child care. Second, with regard to their interrupted lives, while there was comfort and an absence of work-stress, there was child care stress, financial stress, anxiety due to career uncertainty, a loss of the social self, depression, emptiness, low self-esteem, dependence on husbands, regret, conflict in career choices, and envy of childcare support. Third, their reasons for seeking reemployment included the financial benefits, increased independence, self-realization in their job, hope for a stable job, self-management, and hope for a social network.

한국과 중국 기혼취업여성의 주관적 삶의 질에 관한 비교연구 (A Comparative Study on the Quality of Life of Korean and Chinese Women Who Are Employed and Married)

  • This study examines the factors that influence the subjective quality of life for Korean, Chinese-Korean, and Chinese women who are both married and employed, and it offers suggestions based on this examination for how to improve these women's quality of life. In particular, we employ both empirical and comparative research to explore the causal relationship in these three groups of women between variables such as cultural orientations, life satisfactions and the perceived quality of life. For these objectives, 263 Korean women, 265 Chinese-Korean women and 280 Chinese women were surveyed. The research can be summarized as follows: First, when we consider subjective quality of life as the dependent variable and factors such as self-esteem, cultural inclination and life satisfactions as independent variables, we find that most of variables record relatively higher than middle score. Comparisons among the three groups find that every variable shows meaningful differences among the groups except for the non-economic reasons for employment. Second, in examining the relative influence of the different variables on the subjective quality of life, we observe that both job satisfaction and family-life satisfaction have a significant influence on the quality of life for women in all groups. For Korean and Chinese women, job satisfaction has a greater influence on the quality of life than family-life satisfaction.

Mystery Shopping and Well-Being of Service Workers in South Korea

  • Background: Mystery shopping is a method in which a company monitors quality of service and employee conduct and compliance with regulations using an evaluator posing as a customer. It is a typical tool of customer-centered bureaucratic control insofar as it provides overall and standardized evaluation of intangible elements of customer service as well as physical elements of service environments. The purpose of this study is to examine how mystery shopping is related to the health status of service workers in South Korea. Methods: Data from semistructured interviews with 15 workers were collected from January to April 2019 to obtain information on service worker experiences with mystery shopping. Data were analyzed using the constant comparison method. Results: Mystery shopping limits worker autonomy and stiffens the workplace environment by standardizing and monitoring labor processes for service workers. In addition, mystery shopping heightens work stress through increased labor intensity. Five mechanisms by which mystery shopping affects service worker health are identified and comprise (1) multifaceted and multilayered surveillance, (2) evaluator subjectivity and irrational requirements, (3) standardized rules combined with high pressure to achieve sales, (4) self-esteem degradation because of evaluator results, and (5) musculoskeletal disorders because of strict adherence to labor processes based on evaluator results. Conclusion: Mystery shopping as an evaluation method should be reconsidered not only in terms of health problems but also in terms of organizational efficiency and issues of human rights.

인식된 부모양육태도와 조직행태와의 상관관계 연구 (A Study on the Relationships between the Organizational Behavior and the Parents' Attitude during Their Growing Days)

  • This thesis is to analyze and investigate the influence of behaviors towards an organization of public officials due to the way their parents raised them. I tried to find out how their parents' raising way influences the individual characteristics, the human relationship, the job satisfaction, and the organizational commitment. It is proved that the personal characteristics of the organization members affect the human relationship in organization strongly. It is also proved that the way their parents raised them affects the personal characteristics. Therefore I can suggest that the way parents raised children affects the organizational behavior strongly. In addition to that, the personal characteristics of each public official highly affect the human relationship such as the relationship with seniors, colleagues, and subordinates in organization. I know that the way their parents raised them strongly affects the human relationships in organization. In order to find out the influence of organizational behavior of public officials due to the way their parents raised them, I used the Pearson's correlation analysis. I find that the public officials who lived with positive parents have high job satisfaction and organizational commitment, and have high self-esteem, self-control, responsibility, and have good relationship with their senior and colleagues administrative public official. Also, from this study we can find out the influence which parents' attitude has on children's satisfaction and devotion as adults. Therefore this study can suggest a new direction of public administration.

국내 간호사의 우울 관련 문헌분석 (Literature Review of Studies on South Korean Nurses' Depressive Symptoms)

  • Purpose: The purpose was to investigate the literature on depression among South Korean nurses in order to identify overall trends regarding depression. Methods: Forty-five papers published between 1998 and 2017 in three Korean databases-RISS4U, DBPIA, and KISS-were analyzed. Results: Depression showed significant positive associations with job stress, burnout, intent to leave, and somatic symptoms such as fatigue and trouble sleeping. Poor work environments such as staff shortage, work overload, and shift work were also positively associated with depression. Higher job satisfaction, resilience, self-efficacy, self-esteem, and social support were negatively correlated with and acted as significant buffers against depression. Conclusion: These results indicate that healthcare policymakers must pay more attention to the management and prevention of nurses' depression. In order to effectively do so, poor work conditions, which involve long working hours, high patient-to-nurse ratios, and extreme workloads, should be improved. Simultaneously, nursing managers should implement initiatives such as counseling and competency improvement programs, and stress management to reduce and prevent depression among nurses and strengthen their positive competency. Also, further research is required to clarify the prevalence of depression in South Korean nurses, with more meta-analyses also required to identify variations in depression rates owing to various factors.

호텔기업 중간관리자의 조직몰입-직무가치-직무만족 경합모델 (Competitive Models of Organizational Commitment, Work Values and Job Satisfaction of the Middle Management in Hotel Enterprises)

  • 본 연구는 호텔기업 중간관리자를 연구대상으로 하여 조직몰입, 직무가치, 직무만족 그리고 충성도에 관한 실증분석을 시도하고 있다. 즉, 호텔 중간관리자들의 조직에 대한 충성도에 영향을 미치는 매개변수와 독립변수의 경합모형을 개발하여 이론적 실무적 시사점을 도출하는데 연구의 목적이 있다. 분석 결과, 호텔중간관리자의 직무가치가 조직몰입과 직무만족간의 매개역할을 하지 않고 상호 독립적인 요인으로 작용하고 있었으며, 직무가치의 경로분석에서는 내재적 가치가 외재적 가치보다 높게 나타났다. 그리고 호텔중 간관리자들은 근속몰입을 하고 있으며 직무에 높은 만족도를 보이고 있음이 확인되었는바, 조직몰입과 충성도간의 직접적인 경로가 가장 높은 경로계수를 나타내어 깊은 상관관계가 있음이 확인되었다. 그러나 직무만족과 충성도간에는 정(+)의 인과관계가 존재하지 않는 것으로 나타났다. 결과적으로 호텔기업 중간 관리자들은 경제적 안정성 때문에 직무몰입과 직무에 만족하기 보다는 전문성으로 대변되는 호텔리어의 내재적 가치에 직장의 의미를 두고 있으며, 조직몰입변수인 평생직장 소속감 자긍심이 인지될 때 충성도에 가장 민감한 영향을 준다는 점을 확인할 수 있었다.

학교 밖 청소년의 생활실태와 행복감 관련 변인 (The Current Status of Life and Happiness of Out of School Youth)

  • 본 연구는 천안시의 학교밖 청소년 250명을 대상으로 생활실태와 심리적 특성을 분석하고 행복감에 영향을 주는 요인을 파악하여, 학교밖 청소년들의 행복감 증진을 위한 정책적 제언을 하고자 수행되었다. 분석 방법은 SPSS PC+ Win. 21.0을 활용하여 기술통계분석, 신뢰도분석, 평균비교분석, 상관분석 및 다중회귀분석을 하였고, 연구의 결과는 다음과 같다. 첫째, 가정문제로 학업을 중단한 청소년의 자아존중감이 다른 이유로 학업을 중단한 청소년보다 낮았고, 행복감은 학업중단 기간이 2년 이상인 청소년이 가장 낮았다. 둘째, 학교밖 청소년들은 하루 중 수면 7.9시간, 일 3.91시간 등으로 사용하였고, 활동 장소는 집 10.73시간, 일터 3.66시간 등이었으며, 장래계획은 취업계획이 가장 많았고, 친구는 함께 게임 놀이할 친구가 가장 많았다. 셋째, 학교밖 청소년의 자아존중감, 희망 및 행복감 간에는 정적 상관관계가 있었다. 넷째, 학교밖 청소년의 행복감에 대한 상대적 영향은 자아존중감이 가장 높았고, 희망, 취업계획, 가정소득수준 순이었다.

수학·과학 학업성취도 결정요인 종단연구 (The Longitudinal Study on Academic Achievement of Mathematic and Scientific Subject)

  • 본 연구에서는 한국청소년패널조사(Korea Youth Panel Survey) 1차년도(2003년)-4차년(2006년)도의 방대한 종단적 자료를 활용하여 학업성취 영향을 주는 다양한 변인들을 투입하여 한국청소년들의 수학 과학 학업성취도의 종단적 변화의 패턴을 탐색하고, 수학 과학 학업성취도 초기 형성과 변화에 영향을 주는 요인들을 분석하고자 한다. 이를 통해 영재성 판별의 주요한 측면을 담당하고 있는 수학 과학 학업성취도의 개선을 위한 기초자료를 제공하고자 하였다. 연구결과를 통해 수학 과학 학업성취도 변화 패턴은 이차곡선적인 패턴을 보여주고 있었으며, 수학은 감소하는 성장모형을, 과학은 증가하는 성장모형으로 확인되었다. 또한 수학 과학 학업성취에 영향을 주는 요인을 분석함으로써 수학 과학 학업성취 초기치와 변화율 그리고 이차곡선요인에 부모관계, 교사관계, 자아관, 월평균소득, 진학계열이 주요하게 영향력 주고 있다. 그러나 아버지 직업의 경우 통계적으로 무의미하였다. 이를 통해 영재성 판별의 주요한 측면을 담당하고 있는 수학 과학 학업성취도의 개선을 위해서는 부모관계, 교사관계의 건강한 개선과 학생들의 올바른 자아관 확립 그리고 소외계층을 향한 우리 사회의 다양한 정책 및 학교 내 프로그램들이 다양한 수준에서 개발될 필요가 있음을 시사하고 있다.

중년여성의 노화불안에 영향을 미치는 요인 (Factors Affecting Aging Anxiety in Middle Aged Women)

  • 본 연구의 목적은 중년여성의 노화불안에 영향을 미치는 요인을 파악하여 중년기 이후 여성들의 삶의 질을 향상시킬 수 있는 프로그램 개발의 기초자료를 제공하기 위해 시도되었다. 자료수집은 2019년 3월 8일부터 4월 11일까지 전국 8개 도시의 중년여성 256명을 대상으로 서면 동의를 받은 후 구조화된 설문지를 통해 이루어졌다. 수집된 자료는 SPSS/WIN 18.0 프로그램을 이용하여 기술통계, independent t-test, One-way ANOVA, 상관관계, 단계적 회귀분석 방법으로 분석하였다. 연구결과 대상자의 노화불안은 직업과 결혼생활 만족도에 따라 통계적으로 유의한 차이가 있었다. 노화불안은 지각된 건강상태(r=-.300, p<.001), 회복탄력성(r=-.537, p<.001), 결혼만족도(r=-.316, p<.001), 자존감(r=-.424, p<.001)과 음의 상관관계를 나타냈다. 중년여성의 노화불안에 가장 큰 영향을 미치는 요인으로는 회복탄력성(β=-.47, p<.001)과 직업(β=-.19 p=.003), 자존감(β=-.19 p=.014)이었고, 전체 설명력은 36.9%였다(F=14.34, p<.001). 중년여성의 노화불안을 감소시키기 위해서는 중년기 이후에 직업이나 사회활동 참여를 돕고 회복탄력성 및 자존감을 향상시킬 수 있는 프로그램의 개발이 필요하며, 이를 통해 노화를 긍정적으로 받아들일 수 있는 교육 및 중재가 제공되어야 할 것이다.
