Information Ethics on the Net among Youths and Related Variables (청소년의 인터넷 정보윤리의식 및 영향요인에 관한 연구)

  • This study is aimed to investigate ethics cognition to information of youths who are main users of computers, but yet not built up the own ethics and the sense of value, as ethical problems are raised in information-oriented society. The research was focused on youths ethics cognition to information according to contact of multimedia pornography, surreptitious use of others and abusion of indecent languages in chatting. The survey was conducted to 520 students from middle and high schools in Jeju region and analyzed Probit Regression. The major results of this study are as follows; First, most of youths possess own-computers, and use Internet. Second, looking into experiencing or not according to sub-spheres of ethics cognition to information, the experience of contacting multimedia pornography was few. but the primary place of using it was a house. Most of youths approach multimedia pornography in awareness of a ban on youths' contact. The experience of surreptitious use of others was less than other spheres, and mainly only once. The number of youths who have an experience of abusing indecent languages was less than that of youths who don't have, but the frequency of was high when the youths have an experience. Third, the experience or no experience on each sub-sphere has a significant difference on personal-relative variables such as gender, age, education levels, number of siblings, academic records, personal expenses, relationship with friends. The experience or no experience on each sub-sphere has a meaningful influence upon family-relative variables such as father's education levels, Job, mother's age, education levels, employment, family type, monthly household expense. The experience or no experience on each sub-sphere has a meaningful influence upon PC-relative variables such as deviation experience in PC rooms, the experience of request for age confirmation(I.D. card), average use hour of PC rooms. The experience or no experience on each sub-sphere has a more meaningful influence on personal-relative variables and PC-relative variables than family-relative variables.

A Study on the Rural Youth Programs of Foreign Countries (외국의 농촌청소년 개발사업의 현황과 시사점)

  • The purposes of this study were to review the rural youth programs of selected foreign countries and to draw some implications to the rural youth programs in Korea. The youth development programs reviewed were 4-H Youth Development Program of U.S.A, Rural Youth Information Service of Australia, Rural Youth Job Strategy of Canada, The Urban-Rural Youth Program of U.S.A, and Expert Consultation on Extension Rural Youth Programmes and Sustainable Development of FAO. After reviewing the rural youth programs of selected foreign countries, the authors suggested the following implications for further development of rural youth programs in Korea; 1. The target group of rural youth programs should include urban youth as well as rural youth, and the programs should be focused on enlarging their awareness of the rural community and agriculture. 2. Rural youth programs should be extended beyond agricultural sectors, such as leadership, career development, leisure activity, and cultural life. 3. We should develop some programs to support academic achievement, career development, employment, cultural needs including some strategies to prevent problematic behaviors of rural youth. 4. Rural youth should be supported more opportunities to join the community life to experience and learn various life skills through active participation such as interpersonal skill, leadership skill, and problem-solving skill.

The Effects of Female Leadership on Job Stress and Promotion of Female Workers (여자의 적은 여자인가?: 상사 성별이 여성 근로자의 노동시장 성과에 미치는 영향 분석)

  • The purpose of this study is to analyze the effect of sex of supervisor on the stress and promotion of Korean women workers in the workplace using the Korean Women Manager Panel. The results demonstrate that when the direct boss of female workers was female, stress in the workplace was high and the promotion rate of staff and assistant managers was low. According to the theory of queen bee phenomenon and role congruity theory, a structure of glass ceiling and the male-dominated working culture does not require positive qualities of female leadership but requires a high recognition standard or competitiveness. It can be interpreted that the female worker with the female supervisor showed more stress in the workplace and the probability of female promotion in staff and assistant managers is low.

Effectiveness of "Women in Engineering" Course ("여성과 공학" 교과목의 효과성 검증 연구)

  • Women in the predominantly male-oriented college of engineering which is afflicted by the high dropout rate and the low employment rate of coeds in their majoring fields because of the die-hard male dominant culture. In order to resolve the related problems, P University has been actively engaged in a movement called "Women into Engineering" (WIE) to raise the gender cognitive awareness and to train women engineers for highly qualified work force. As part of the movement, a subject called "Women in Engineering" that focuses on the gender cognitive perspective is effective to reduce the dropout rate and to land a job inside their fields by stimulating their interest in their specialty and masting soft/hard skills. The study was conducted a survey of the coeds who have completed the "Women in Engineering" course to evaluate the degree of satisfaction perceived, and a t-test through comparing the group of the coeds and a group of coeds who have not taken the course. The results showed statistically significant responses indicating that both groups of coeds would like to see WIE offer more basic engineering courses like "Women in Engineering". This may lay the foundation to offer other major engineering courses for juniors and seniors that emphasize the gender cognitive approach.

A Study on the Differences in Perception between Regions through the Residential Satisfaction Survey in Gangwon-do (강원도 주거만족도 조사를 통해 살펴본 지역 간 인식 차이 연구)

  • The aim of this study was to analyze differences in the perception of Gangwon-do residents using a satisfaction survey. The residents were found to be most satisfied with sectors such as parks/green spaces, landscape, and public order; however, they were least satisfied with transportation, culture, sports, medical services, and welfare facilities. Additionally, among all the items in the satisfaction survey, job satisfaction was the lowest. When comparing satisfaction trends observed in the city to those of the county, the overall satisfaction of the county was found to be slightly higher. This result could be attributed to young people being underrepresented in this survey in conjunction with the greater policy-level support for middle-aged people by from the government and Gangwon-do. Therefore, it would be worthwhile to create policies that primarily support young people and to also to create high-quality jobs with stable pay and employment prospects. This could minimize the outflow of youth and even encourage their inflow to similar small provincial cities. In Southern region and Seorak region of Gangwon-do, the satisfaction with gap between house price and region was low, which might be related to the increased demand for real estate throughout this area.

  • Background: This study aims to provide basic data for college students' employment and career choice by investigating their job perception of orthopedic manual physical therapy, one of the physical therapy fields of physical therapy majors. Methods: A total of 267 subjects were surveyed on occupational awareness among college students majoring in physical therapy in Gwangju. The collected data were analyzed for frequency analysis and cross-sectional study using the SPSS 22.0 statistical program. A chi-square test was conducted to determine if there were any significant differences. Results: As a result of the survey on the recognition of orthopedic manual physical therapy, interest in orthopedic manual physical therapy was high, but the method of treatment, effectiveness and information were insufficient. Conclusions: For the awareness and education of students' orthopedic manual physical therapy, schools and institutional organizations need education and special lectures on orthopedic manual physical therapy for students.

Study on the Psychological Well-Being of Employed Married Women with Children in Early Childhood - Focused on family and social support system variables - (유아기 자녀를 둔 취업여성의 심리적 복지에 관한 연구 -가족 및 사회지원체제 변인을 중심으로-)

  • The purpose of this study was to find factors affecting the psychological well-being of married working women in Seoul. For this purpose, survey data form 332 employed married women residing in Seoul are used to evaluate the relative effects of Psychological well-being of married working women. Survey questions included demographic information, housework and child-rearing related variables, work related variables, variables related with social support systems, items on child care services for the preschoolers, and psychological well-being of married working women. The major findings were as follows: 1) The psychological well-being of married working women score is 36.14(mean score is 32). The difference between the psychological well-being of married working women varied this according to socio-demographic variables: educational level, income level, spouse's support, occupation, and job satisfaction. 2) The factors that affected psychological well-bing were amount of household labor by husband, job satisfaction, socio-support systems, and educare service satisfaction. 3) The factor that had the most significant impact on the psychological well-being of married working women is job satisfaction. It is suggested to utilize the Employment Assistant Program to establish friendly working environment for married women.

What Kinds of Aptitude Will Be Required for Undergraduate Students Who Want to Join Export-Oriented SMEs? (수출중소기업은 어떤 직무적성을 가진 대학생을 채용할까? -광주 지역을 중심으로-)

  • The main objective of this study is to examine the required aptitudes for undergraduate students who want to join export-oriented Small & Medium Enterprises(SMEs). 178 Dataset from a survey of exporting firms in Gwangju, Korea, were used to analyze the study. The results of the study are as follows ; First, the most required aptitude is 'the capability related to build up human relationship'. So students should learn negotiation skills in the college. In addition to this, student also try to join informal club and cultivate teamwork capabilities. Second, finding out a job in export-oriented SMEs is needed to equip with problem-solving capabilities. To do it, students should learn various subjects related to trade theory. Additionally, having some certificates like 'international trade master' can be better. Third, communication capabilities including foreign language and international business skills will be also required for students who are preparing for joining export-oriented SMEs. However, capabilities related to information technology and basic statistic skills does not have statistically significant correlation to recruitment intention. As a result, students who have such above-mentioned four aptitudes may have better position to find out jobs in export-oriented SMEs.

A Study for Professionalizlng of Multi-family Housing Manager (공동주택관리사의 전문직화를 위한 탐색적 연구)

  • The purpose of this study was to investigate the difficulty of doing job among housing manager. It might be Provide the basic opinion which could be used for professionalizing of housing manager. The survey had been made 156 housing manager in managerial situation of multi-family housing for sale(so called condominium). The analytical methods adopted in this study were frequency, percentage, 1-test, one-way ANOVA, post-hoc estimation(Scheffe test), correlation by the SPSS 10.1 for Windows program. The major findings of this study were as follows. First, it was revealed that many housing manager thought about Residents' Committee In the negative. Because housing manager considered that Residents' Committee interfered in housing manager's business, on the other hand they set a low value on Residents' Committee disposition and its knowledge about housing management. Second, it was founded that a lot of housing manager felt uneasy about his employment for the reason mentioned. Actually Residents' Committee exercised its influence over hiring as well as dismissing housing manager in any management alternatives. Third, it was necessary that synthetic plan might be prepared for housing manager to educate, to re-educate, to furnish information etc. about related in housing management for the specialization of housing management.

The Study of Regional Economic Effect by Construction of 119 Integrated Information System through RAS Method -In the Case Gyangsngnamdo- (RAS Method을 통해 본 119소방종합정보시스템 구축 사업의 지역 경제 파급효과 분석에 관한 연구 -경상남도를 중심으로-)

  • This study aims to examine the ripple effect of the '119 Integrated Information System' for city disaster management on the local economy. The study was conducted in the area of Gyeongnam province, and the study method is the interdependence analysis based on the Input Coefficient drawn from Input-Output Tables in which Intermediary Transaction Tables drawn through RAS was taken advantage of to grasp the correlation among industries and regions in terms of the local economy, and the ripple effect of the changes of political exogenous variables on the local economy was divided to such elements as production, added value, and employment so as to attempt empirical analysis on the local economy system. To estimate the ripple effect on the local economy, three different amounts of the expected input were applied to the study respectively and the results are as follows: Some $28.7{\sim}42.4$ billion won for the production induction effect, some $7.5{\sim}11.4$ billion won for the added-value induction effect, some $103{\sim}157$ job openings for the employment induction effect, and some $3.8{\sim}5.7$ billion won for the income induction effect are expected to take place as the ripple effect on the local economy.
