Soil Adsorption of Herbicide Quizalofop-Ethyl (제초제 Quizalofop-Ethyl의 토양흡착)

  • Quizalofop-ethyl is a herbicide which is extensively applied to soybean, onion, garlic, strawberry and watermelon to control broad-leaf weeds. The experiment was conducted to find out soil adsorption of this chemical. The soil adsorption of quizalofop-ethyl in both Yeongok and Namwon soil series reached an equilibrium 24 hours after shaking incubation. Correlation coefficients of Freundlich plot of both soils were 0.998 and 0.995, respectively. Adsorption constants(K) were 4.710 and 10.414, respectively. Amounts of soil adsorption of quizalofop-ethyl increased with an increase in soil organic matter and incubation temperature.

  • In this paper, we study the 17th Century Chosun's mathematics book ${\ll}$Muk Sa Jib San Beob${\gg}$ written by Chosun's mathematician Kyeong Seon Jing. Our study of thebook shows the ${\ll}$Muk Sa Jip San Beop${\gg}$ as an important 17th Century mathematics book and also as a historical data showing the mathematical environment of 17th Century Chosun.

Identification and Characterization of the Antifungal Substances of a Novel Streptomyces cavourensis NA4

  • A new actinomycete strain NA4 was isolated from a deep-sea sediment collected from the South China Sea and showed promising antifungal activities against soilborne fungal pathogens. It was identified as Streptomyces cavourensis by morphological, physiological, and phylogenetic analyses based on its 16S rRNA gene sequence. The main antifungal components were isolated and identified from the fermentation culture as bafilomycins B1 and C1. These compounds exhibited significant antifungal activities and a broad antifungal spectrum. The results suggest that the Streptomyces cavourensis NA4 and bafilomycins B1 and C1 could be used as potential biocontrol agents for soilborne fungal diseases of plants.

Analysis of $NO_X$ Conversion Reaction using Platinum supported on Alumina (알루미나에 담지된 플라티늄을 이용한 $NO_X$의 전환반응에 미치는 요인 분석)

  • Aluminum tri-butoxide was mixed with the water/ethanol solution and then chloroplatinic acid was added to the solution. The solution was dried at $100^{\circ}C$ for 15hrs to remove the solvent and water then it was calcined at $500^{\circ}C$. The catalyst was activated with a gas mixture. During the activation, the temperature was increased from $150^{\circ}C$ to $500^{\circ}C$. The necessary amount of urea was dissolved in 50mL water and injected. Aqueous urea solution was then mixed with the feed gas stream. At low temperatures, nitrogen containing compounds of urea decomposition are used as reductants in the reducton of $NO_X$. However at high temperatures the nitrogen containing compounds are oxidized to NO and $NO_2$ by oxygen instead of being used in the reduction. The activity of the catalyst was dependent on urea concentration in the feed stream when there was not adequate water vapor in the feed. The maximum conversion was shifted from $250^{\circ}C$ to $150^{\circ}C$ when water concentration was increased from 2 to 17%. It seems that the maximum temperature shifts to lower temperatures because the hydrolysis rate of HNCO increases with water, resulting in higher amounts of $NH_3$.

Conductivity and Surface Tension Behavior for Binary Mixtures over a Various Concentration of TTAB

  • The conductances of trimethyltetradecylammonium bromide (TTAB) plus triphenyltetradecyl phosphonium bromide (TTPB) and TTAB plus trimethylhexadecylammonium bromide (HTAB) over the entire mole fraction range of TTAB were measured in water and in cyclodextrin plus water mixtures at fixed 4 and 8 mM of cyclodextrin at $30^{\circ}C$. The conductivity plot for both binary mixtures shows a single break from which the mixed critical micelle concentration and degree of micelle ionization were computed. From the slope of the conductivity curve, the equivalent ionic conductivities of the monomeric, associated, and the micelle states were calculated and discussed with respect to the surfactant-cyclodextrin complexation in the whole mole fraction range of both surfactant binary mixtures. The association constant K between the respective monomeric surfactant and cyclodextrin cavity of fixed 4 mM cyclodextrin was computed by considering 1:1 association from the surface tension measurement. A comparison among the K values for HTAB-cyclodetrin, TTAB-cyclodextrin, and TTPB-cyclodextrin shows that the former complexation is significantly stronger in comparison to the other ones due to the longer hydrophobic tail.

  • Mackban-stone effectively removed heavy metals, such as Fe, Cu, Cd, and Zn, with best removal of Fe and Cu. And the removal of heavy merals related with ion exchange of Ca. Mackban-stone is also an efficient deodorant of hydrogen sulfide and ammonia and inhibited the growth of E coli. The degradation rare of 4-nitropheno1 by Nocardioides sp. PNP101 and 2,4-dinitrophenol by Strain CJ1 and Rhodococcus sp. DNP 505 are increased by Mackbane-srone.

  • Pentacene based TFT showed a degraded mobility and saturation current (Ion) after exposure to the high energy ultraviolet (UV). In this article, we optimize the thickness of UV resisted layer on OTFT to restrain the degradation from protect layer deposition and study the UV aging effect of pentacene based TFT. The OTFT deivce with UV resisted layer could keep over 50% mobility after suffered UV $10^3J$.

The Effects of Conspicuous Consumption, Sales Promotions and Images of the Country of Manufacture on Chinese Women Consumers' Purchasing Attitudes to Fashion Luxury Brands (과시소비성향, 판매촉진과 제조국 이미지가 중국여성소비자의 패션 명품 구매태도에 미치는 영향)

  • The purposes of this study were study intended to investigate effects of conspicuous consumption, sales promotions and images of the country of manufacture on Chinese consumers' purchasing attitudes to fashion luxury brands. The study was conducted by experimental conspicuous consumption(2)X[types of sales promotions(2) X images of the country of manufacture(2)] design by combining the 3 variables mentioned above. 312 women living in Chengdu were collected for this study. For data analysis, factor analysis, T-test, frequency analysis and ANOVA were used. The results were as follows: First, Chinese consumers' favor to fashion luxury brands: 2-way interactions, in sales promotions and images of the country of manufacture, was found for favor to fashion luxury brands. Second, Chinese consumers' purchase intent to fashion luxury brands: only the main-effects of conspicuous consumption and images of the country of manufacture was meaningfully positive. It demonstrates that only conspicuous consumption and images of the country of manufacture effected Chinese consumers' purchase intent to fashion luxury brands.

A Study on the Molecular Changes of Tungstophosphate Species at Different pH Values using Spectroscopy (pH 변화에 따른 Tungstophosphates 화합물의 분자형태 변화에 대한 분광학적 연구)

  • All spectroscopic methods used in this work indicate the instability of tungstophosphates in aqueous solutions and considerable dependence on pH with regard to the dominant species present in the solution. UV spectroscopy indicates that some changes occur in the system but they cannot be specified. IR spectroscopy gives more information on the identification of the dominant species as a function the pH of the solution. NMR spectroscopy provides unique data, which can be used for more accurate interpretation of changes in the solution of various pH values. In the case of aqueous solutions of tungstophosphates, the parent anion was present only in a very acidic solution of ca. pH 1. Some differences in interpretation of the molecular species present under various experimental conditions can be ascribed to some extent to the diversity of chemical shifts of NMR. Under physiological conditions attained with the addition of NaOH, tungstophosphates was dominantly present in the form of the lacunary monovacant anion.

A Study on the Reaction Kinetics of Nitrogen Compounds over Bimetallic Molybdenum Catalysts (이금속성 형태 몰리브덴 촉매를 이용한 질소화합물의 반응속도 연구)

  • It is interesting to discover the reaction kinetics of the newly developed molybdenum containing catalysts. The dissociation/adsorption of nitrogen on molybdenum surface is known to be structure sensitive, which is similar to that of nitrogen on iron surface. The rates over molybdenum nitride catalysts are increased with the increase of total pressure. This tendency is the same as that for iron catalyst, but is quite different from that for ruthenium catalyst. The activation energies of the molybdenum nitride catalysts are almost on the same level, although the activity is changed by the addition of the second component. The reaction rate is expressed as a function of the concentration of reactants and products. The surface nature of $CO_3Mo_3N$ is drastically changed by the addition of alkali, changing the main adsorbed species from $NH_2$ to NH on the surface. The strength of $NH_x$ adsorption is found to be changed by alkali dopping.
