We report experimental and simulation results of L0 state using inner retarder film compared with normal retardation film. In short wavelength range, the reflectance of inner retardation film is three times compared with that of normal retardation film. This results in blue color of L0 state, as retardation decreases or polar angle increases, the color shifts toward purple, finally yellow color, as expected in the simulation results.

In high-frequency switched mode converters, Series Resonant Converter (SRC) is investigated using state-plane method. Phase plane trajectories of the SRC permit a direct closed form solution of the steady state operation and can make problems easy to solve. This paper describes steady state responses and characteristics of the SRC with respect to various circuit factors. The magnitute of steady state response and the average current through load are clearly related to how such the switching frequency differs from the resonant frequency. The results of the steady state analysis can be used to estimate the device and component stress on the power circuit.

We present a systematic study of the heating and pre-sintering behavior of porous copper powder metal compacts. We employ a TE102 single mode microwave system to position the samples in the separated electric field (E) or magnetic field (H) anti-node of the cavity. We observe significant differences in the heating, pre-sintering, and microstructure evolution of the samples due to the individual fields. We note that sample history (whether heated first in the E-field or H-field) greatly effects a difference in heating trends and subsequent heating behavior and does not appear to be solely a thermal process.

In this paper, describes the design and performance of a 1.5 kW solid-state pulsed power amplifier, operating over 2.7-2.9 GHz at a duty of 10% and with a pulse width of 100 us for radar application. The solid-state pulsed power amplifier configures a series of 8-stage cascaded power amplifier with different RF output power levels. Low loss Wilkinson combiners are used to combine output powers of six 300W high power solid state modules. Tests show peak output power of 1.61 kW, corresponding to PAE of 26.2% over 2.7-2.9 GHz with pulse width of 100 us and a PRF of 1 kHz.
