투구된 공의 실시간 위치 자동추적 시스템 개발 (Development of Auto Tracking System for Baseball Pitching)

  • The effort identifying positioning information of the moving object in real time has been a issue not only in sport biomechanics but also other academic areas. In order to solve this issue, this study tried to track the movement of a pitched ball that might provide an easier prediction because of a clear focus and simple movement of the object. Machine learning has been leading the research of extracting information from continuous images such as object tracking. Though the rule-based methods in artificial intelligence prevailed for decades, it has evolved into the methods of statistical approach that finds the maximum a posterior location in the image. The development of machine learning, accompanied by the development of recording technology and computational power of computer, made it possible to extract the trajectory of pitched baseball from recorded images. We present a method of baseball tracking, based on object tracking methods in machine learning. We introduce three state-of-the-art researches regarding the object tracking and show how we can combine these researches to yield a novel engine that finds trajectory from continuous pitching images. The first research is about mean shift method which finds the mode of a supposed continuous distribution from a set of data. The second research is about the research that explains how we can find the mode and object region effectively when we are given the previous image's location of object and the region. The third is about the research of representing data into features that we can deal with. From those features, we can establish a distribution to generate a set of data for mean shift. In this paper, we combine three works to track baseball's location in the continuous image frames. From the information of locations from two sets of images, we can reconstruct the real 3-D trajectory of pitched ball. We show how this works in real pitching images.

Importance of particle shape on stress-strain behaviour of crushed stone-sand mixtures

  • In ballasted railway tracks, ballast fouling due to finer material intrusion has been identified as a challenging issue in track maintenance works. In this research, deformation characteristics of crushed stone-sand mixtures, simulating fresh and fouled ballasts were studied from laboratory and a 3-D discrete element method (DEM) triaxial compression tests. The DEM simulation was performed using a recently developed DEM approach, named, Yet Another Dynamic Engine (YADE). First, void ratio characteristics of crushed stone-sand mixtures were studied. Then, triaxial compression tests were conducted on specimens with 80 and 50% of relative densities simulating dense and loose states respectively. Initial DEM simulations were conducted using sphere particles. As stress-strain behaviour of crushed stone-sand mixtures evaluated by sphere particles were different from laboratory specimens, in next DEM simulations, the particles were modeled by a clump particle. The clump shape was selected using shape indexes of the actual particles evaluated by an image analysis. It was observed that the packing behaviour of laboratory crushed stone-sand mixtures were matched well with the DEM simulation with clump particles. The results also showed that the strength properties of crushed stone deteriorate when they are mixed by 30% or more of sand, specially under dense state. The results also showed that clump particles give closer stress-strain behaviour to laboratory specimens than sphere particles.

Seismic train-bridge coupled system sensitivity analysis considering random aftershock intensity and residual track deformation

  • After the mainshock, whether the train can be allowed to pass the bridges plays an important role in ensuring the transport of supplies and rescue works for example, in the "12 May" earthquake in China, after evaluation, the bridge was still used for transportation in rescue at a very slow speed, engineers usually evaluate whether the train can pass the bridge safely based on the experience, lacks sufficient calculation basis and does not fully consider the risk caused by aftershocks. To address this issue, this paper comprehensively considers the randomness of track irregularity, the randomness of aftershock intensity and other multiple random sources in train-bridge interaction system (TBIS). The sensitivity of train to various random parameters after earthquake is analyzed from the perspective of probability, the most sensitive random variable in this paper is PGA of aftershocks, both for bridge and trailer car, With the increase of epicentral distance, the sensitivity of PGA will decrease, and correspondingly, for trailer car, the sensitivity of other random variables will increase, research in this paper provides a basis for the subsequent random analysis of post-earthquake driving safety.

익명 네트워크 기반 블록체인 범죄 수사방안 연구 (A Study on the Crime Investigation of Anonymity-Driven Blockchain Forensics)

  • IT 기술의 발전으로 따른 디지털 기기 사용의 보편화와 함께, 익명 통신 기술의 규모 또한 기하급수적으로 증가하고 있다. 이러한 상황에서 특히, 다크 웹(Dark web)과 딥웹(Deep web) 등 익명성을 보장하는 보안 메신저가 디지털 범죄의 온상지가 되고 있다. 익명 네트워크를 이용한 범죄 행위는 사용 기기에 로컬 데이터를 거의 남기지 않아 행위 추적이 어렵다. 미국 연방형사소송규칙과 영국 수사권한법에서는 온라인 수색 관련 법 및 제도 도입을 통해 대응하고 있으나, 한국은 관련 법의 부재로 인하여 수사적 대응 또한 전무한 실정이다. 종래의 (해외에서 사용되는) 온라인 수색 기법은 프로세스가 종료되면 아티팩트(Artifact) 수집을 할 수 없고, 메모리에만 데이터를 저장하는 악성코드에 대응할 수 없으며, 민감 데이터 식별이 어렵고, 무결성이 침해된다는 기술적 한계가 확인된다. 본 논문에서는 기본권 침해를 최소화하는 방향에서 물리 메모리 데이터 분석을 통한 익명 네트워크 사용자 행위 추적 기반 블록체인 범죄 수사방식의 국내 도입 방안을 제안한다. 클로링을 통해 수집한 다크 웹 사이트 사용자의 행위를 추적해 물리 메모리의 잔존율과 77.2%의 합의 성공률을 확인함으로써 제안 방안의 수사로서의 실효성을 입증하고자 하였다.

  • RFID is a generic term for technologies which use RF waves to identify, track, or categorize any object. A radio frequency identification (RFID) reader recognizes objects through wireless communications with RFID tags. Tag collision arbitration for passive tags is a significant issue for fast tag identification due to communication over a shared wireless channel. One of the research areas in RFID system is a tag anti-collision protocol. In this paper, various anti-collision protocols are discussed. The pros and cons of different anti-collision protocols are compared with each other and their performance is analyzed and the better performance anti-collision protocol is suggested.

  • The temperature profile control issue in the resistive welder for the electronic parts is discussed. The average current of the welder tip depends on the phase(on-time) of the AC power and the tip temperature maintains or increases/decreases depending on the integral of the current square and heat loss, The basic PID control algorithm with thermo-couple feedback is difficult to track the temperature profile for various parts and optimal gain changes much. So constant gain PID algorithm is not enough to cover various electronic parts welding and a Fuzzy-PID automatic gain tuning algorithm is devised and added to conventional PID algorithm and this hybrid control architecture is implemented and the experimental results are shown.

3.0 T MRI 환경에서 마이크로비드를 이용한 서브복셀 추적에 관한 수치해석적 연구 (Numerical Study on the Sub-Voxel Tracking Using Micro-Beads in a 3.0 T MRI)

  • In molecular imaging studies via magnetic resonance imaging, in vivo cell tracking is an important issue for the observation of cell therapy or disease behavior. High resolution imaging and longitudinal study are necessary to track the cell movement. Since the field inhomogeneity extends over several voxels, we have performed the numerical analysis using the sub-voxel method dividing a voxel of MR image into several elements and the information about the field inhomogeneity distribution around the micro-beads. We imbedded ferrite-composite micro-beads with the size of $20-150{\mu}m$ in the subject substituted for cells to induce local field distortion. In the phantom imaging with the isotropic voxel size of $200{\mu}m^3$, we could confirm the feasibility of sub-voxel tracking in a 3.0 T MRI.

An On-line Rotor Resistance Estimator for Induction Machine Drives

  • Rotor resistance variation due to changing rotor temperature is a significant issue in the design of induction motor controls. In this work, a new on-line rotor resistance estimator is proposed based on an alternate qd induction machine model which provides better mathematical representation of an induction machine than the classical qd model (which uses constant parameters). This is because the former simultaneously includes leakage saturation, magnetizing path saturation, and distributed circuit effects in the rotor conductors. The comparisons via computer simulation studies show the ability of the proposed estimator to accurately track rotor resistance variation. For the experimental studies, due to the difficulty in measuring the actual rotor resistance, comparison of the controller performance using the proposed estimator, the classical qd model based estimator, and no estimator is made.

  • W-Project is 70-story mixed-use residential building complex project in Busan, the second biggest city in South Korea. As it is a high rise building complex located at the coast, the residents have great ocean view from the height. Though, there were many difficult challenges to be solved to secure structural safety and meet the serviceability requirements. As it is located on the reclaimed land, securing the foundation bearing capacity on soft soil is the first issue to be solved for the stable structure. W-Project. Busan on the way usual track of typhoon, wind load on structure is also critical for structural safety and serviceability for occupants due to wind vibration. This paper will address process of lateral load resisting structural system of W-Project.

의사결함처리요소를 이용한 단일트랙 이차원 시스토릭 어레이에서 재구성율의 향상 (Improvement of reconfiguration rate using pseudo faulty processing elements on the single track 2-D systolic array)

  • In reconfiguration of systolic arrays, a potential disadvantage is that in the PRESENCE of consective faulty PE's logically connected PE's may be far apart, requiring the reduction of clock speed and thus reducing throughput of the array. Thus it is fundamental tokeep locality of interconnections as high as possible even after reconfiguration and to make reconfiguration implemented in the simple routing devices. However requirements of locality and simplicity mean that reconfiguring capability is limited. This paper deals iwth the issue of developing efficient method for reconfiguration of 2-D systolic arrays which can be achieved high reconfiguration rate, with the two conditions satisfying using concept of pseudo faulty processing element. Applying this concept to reconfiguration of systolic array, we have found similar condition. The simulation shows that recomfiguration rates are 97%, 84% when N faults ocurs on the N$\times$N array n case of N=5, 8 respectively.
