  • We consider a robust configuration problem of inertial sensors for inertial navigation system(INS). Fault detection and isolation(FDI) is necessary to improve reliability of the system. For FDI, there used to be more than three mutually orthogonal sensors and thus we have to consider configuration methods of sensors. Various studies in this area have been done, but the former results did not consider effect of uncertainty(misalignment, scale factor error) to determine the configuration of the sensors. In this paper robust configuration of sensors is proposed through sensitivity analysis. Also total least square(TLS) method ...

  • The aerial parts of Ephedra aphylla afforded two alkaloids belonging to two different classes. The first alkaloid, ephedradine C, belonging to the spermine alkaloid, a group characterized by its hypotensive effect. The other alkaloid, hordenine is a phenylalkylamine alkaloid isolated for the first time from Ephedra Species. The structures were elucidated by spectroscopic methods and the assignment of some carbons in ephedradine C was achieved based on 2 D-NMR experiments.

  • As an analytical approach, the area reduction formula of rubber bearings has been proposed to account for the reduction in bucking load due to shear. The result obtained from the formula is presumed to be conservative but the degree of conservatism is unknown. This paper describes a numerical study which aims at determining the effect of high shear strain on the critical load of rubber bearings using a finite element analysis program. The results from the finite element analysis which accounts for both the material and geometric non-linearities are compared against the theoretical results in order to examine the validity of the theoretical formulas.

  • A variable structure control (VSC) based model following control system that possesses fault detection and isolation (FDI) capability as well as fault tolerance property is proposed. The nonlinear part of the proposed control law. whose magnitude is determined by sliding variables, plays the role of suppressing fault effect. Thus, approximate fault reconstruction is also possible via the analysis of sliding variables. The proposed algorithm is applied to an active suspension system of pound vehicles to verify its applicability.

  • In sub-l/4 ${\mu}{\textrm}{m}$ NMOSFET with STI (Shallow Trench Isolation), the anomalous hump phenomenon of subthreshold region, due to capped p-TEOS/SiN induced defect, is reported. The hump effect was significantly observed as channel length is reduced, which is completely different from previous reports. Channel boron dopant redistribution due to the defect should be considered to improve hump characteristics besides considerations of STI comer and recess. 130

  • The methanolic extract of the twigs of Celtis chinensis was found to show inhibitory activity on acetylcholinesterase (AChE), an enzyme that plays a role in the metabolic hydrolysis of ACh. Bioassay-guided fractionation of the methanolic extract resulted in the isolation of N-p-coumaroyl tyramine. as an inhibitor on AChE. This compound inhibited AChE activity in a dose-dependent manner, and the $IC_50$ value of trans-N-p-coumaroyl tyramine was 34.5 $\mu$g/mL (122 $\mu$M).

  • The major active components of EGb 761, extract of Ginkgo biloba leaves, include flavonoid glycosides and unique diterpenes known as ginkgolides. Ginkgolides are potent inhibitors of platelet activating factor. In this study, we investigated antiinflammatory activity of ginkgolides on the Complete Freund"s Adjuvant (CFA)-induced mice. The ginkgolides were extracted from commercially available EGb 761. This extracting procedure was done by sequential treatments of the EGb 761 with chloroform, methanol, and water. (omitted)tted)
