Study About the Evaluation of Driving Stability Using 3-axis Accelerometer Test (3축 가속도 시험을 통한 도로 노면의 주행 안정성 평가에 대한 연구)

  • This paper attempts to evaluate driving stability by the vibration of human body. The purpose of this research is to establish an evaluation methodology for controling the quality of road surface. The study was conducted to investigate the relationship between road surface profiles (IRI, International Roughness Index) and the fatigue caused by the vibration of human body. Furthermore, 3-axis acceleration in driving vehicles was examined based on sampling sections under various road conditions. The acceleration value of frequency bands were analyzed by the characteristics of road surface, and realized the range of human influence by conditions and type of road surface with ISO-2631 standards. In general, more human fatigue by vehicle vibration was appeared in concrete pavements with high IRIs based on the analysis from given test data. Whereas, The SMA asphalt pavement and the diamond grinded concrete pavement reduce the human fatigue.

  • The bedsore prevention cushion serves to prevent the skin on the buttocks of a wheelchair user from being damaged through friction with the wheelchair seat. This is because it absorbs some of the weight applied to the wheelchair seat and allows the weight to be applied evenly to the entire contact surface. For the impact test, which is part of the performance testing of bedsore prevention cushions, a hip model that represents the sitting posture of a wheelchair user is required. In this study, a hip model was manufactured for impact testing of bedsore prevention cushions for wheelchairs. Performance tests for pressure bedsore prevention cushions for wheelchairs include KSP 0236, a Korean standard, and KS P ISO 16840-2, an ISO international standard. The hip model proposed in KS P ISO 16840-2 was more suitable for impact testing of bedsore prevention cushions for wheelchairs. However, the guidelines for making hip models proposed by international standards need to be modified to reflect the advancement of model making technology and use easier methods. We propose a new hip model production method that produces a hip model out of plastic all at once and additionally attaches SS-41 steel plates processed into the shape of the hip to make the mass of the model similar to the human body.

  • Statement of problem. Many surface processing methods of dental implant have been developed, the laser processing is one of them. Purpose. This study was to investigate in vitro the fatigue resistance of implants treated with laser method(CSM implant, CSM Company, Daegu, Korea). Material and methods. Fatigue tests of 23 laser treated CSM implant(CSM Company, Daegu, Korea) were conducted using Instron 8871 (Load cell, 5 kN, Instron Co., England), according to ISO 14801 (2003), Results. From 300 N, each specimens were not fractured and withstood until more than 5,000,000 cycle. Conclusion. Within the limits of this in vitro study, implants treated with laser method (CSM implant, CSM Company, Daegu, Korea) have had enough rigidity and fatigue resistance to use clinically with reliance.

  • 자율운항선박 (Maritime Autonomous Surface Ship, MASS) 관련 기술이 전 세계적으로 활발히 개발되고 있는 가운데, 이러한 신기술을 검증하기 위해 국제표준 개발의 필요성이 증대하고 있다. 현재 ISO TC8(선박 및 해양기술) 분과에서 개발중이거나 제정된 표준 분석을 진행하였다. 3가지 카테고리로 분류하였을 때, 카테고리 3 - 세부 장비/어플리케이션에 대해 개발된 표준의 수가 카테고리 1 - 일반적인 가이드라인 및 기능적 요구사항에 대한 표준과 카테고리 1의 기능적 요구 사항을 만족하는 기술적 솔루션 레퍼런스인 기술적 솔루션 표준은 부족한 실정이다. 우선순위 도출을 통하여 카테고리 2 분야의 표준화 아이템을 도출하였고, 이를 기반으로 수립한 국제표준화 추진전략 및 계획을 소개할 예정이다.

Synthesis and Antistatic Property of Acryl Urethane Polymer (아크릴우레탄 폴리머의 합성과 대전방지특성)

  • Antistatic acrylic resin is made from n-butyl methacrylate, methyl methacrylate, dimethyl amino ethyl methacrylate(DMAEMA), 2-ethyl hexyl methacrylate, hydroxy ethyl methacrylate, 2,2'-azobis iso-butyronitrile by synthesis. To achieve a lowest surface resistance of antistatic acrylic resin was applied to a variety of synthesis processes. The acrylic resin has been determined from the value of surface resistance and -then the antistatic acrylic resin including dimethyl amino ethyl methacrylate of the 10%, 20% and 30% is synthesized. Finally, dimethyl sulfate(DMS) on a variety of weight ratios is added to antistatic acrylic resin. When DMAEMA / DMS weight ratio is 1/1, antistatic acrylic resin isn't haze the lower the surface resistance. Compared to the traditional antistatic agent, all aspects of the physical properties is outstanding.

Phase transition of Zirconia by surface treatments (지르코니아 표면 가공에 따른 상변이)

  • Purpose : This study aimed to find out the effects of treatments on the surface of Zirconia. Methods : To this end, we selected six treatments that have been used widely: steam cleaning, 2bar & 6bar sand blasting, grinding by green stone point, grinding by diamond bur, and grinding by diamond bur with water spray. Results : The results of our study showed that monoclinic rate increased from all six treatments. Monoclinic rate varied by treatments, ranged from 0.6% (steam cleaning) to 6.5% (6bar sand blasting). These values from all six treatments were below ISO 13356 standard, which is 25%. Also, we found that two treatments (green stone point and diamond bur) increased roughness of surface of Zirconia. Conclusion : This study concluded that phase changes of Zirconia were not significant by using six treatments we employed.

Fundamental Study for Predicting Ship Resistance Performance Due to Changes in Water Temperature and Salinity in Korea Straits (대한해협에서의 수온 및 염도변화를 고려한 선박의 저항성능 예측을 위한 기초 연구)

  • Recently, shipping operators have been making efforts to reduce the fuel cost in various ways, such as trim optimization and bulb re-design. Furthermore, IMO restricts the hydro-dioxide emissions to the environment based on the EEDI (Energy Efficiency Design Index), EEOI (Energy Efficiency Operational Indicator), and SEEMP (Ship Energy Efficiency Management Plan). In particular, ship speed is one of the most important factors for calculating the EEDI, which is based on methods suggested by ITTC (International Towing Tank Conference) or ISO (International Standardization Organization). Many shipbuilding companies in Korea have carried out speed trials around the Korea Straits. However, the conditions for these speed trials have not been exactly the same as those for model tests. Therefore, a ship’s speed is corrected by measured environmental data such as the seawater temperature, density, wind, waves, swell, drift, and rudder angle to match the conditions of the model tests. In this study, fundamental research was performed to evaluate the ship resistance performance due to changes in the water temperature and salinity, comparing the ISO method and numerical simulation. A numerical simulation of a KCS (KRISO Container ship) with a free-surface was performed using the commercial software Star-CCM+ under three conditions that were assumed based on the water temperature and salinity data in the Korea Straits. In the simulation results, the resistance increased under low water temperature & high salinity conditions, and it decreased under high water temperature & low salinity conditions. In addition, the ISO method showed the same result as the simulation.

An Ambiguity-free Surface Construction from Volume Data (입체적인 데이터에서 애매성-프리 표면 재구성)

  • This paper presents a simple method for relieving the ambiguity problems within the sub-voxel based surface-fitting approach for the surface construction. ECB algorithm is proposed to avoid the ambiguity problem which is the root of the holes within the resulting polygon based approximation. The basic idea of our disambiguation strategy is the use of a set of predefined modeling primitives (we call SMP) which guarantees the topological consistency of resulted surface polygons. 20 SMPs are derived from the extension of the concept of the elementary modeling primitives in the CB algorithm [3], and fit one to five faces of them to the iso-surface crossing a cell with no further processing. A look-up table which has a surface triangle list is pre-calculated using these 20 SMPs. All of surface triangles in the table are from the faces of SMPs and are stored in the form of edge list on which vertices of each surface triangle are located. The resulted polygon based approximation is unique at every threshold value and its validity is guaranteed without considering the complicated problems such as average of density and postprocessing. ECB algorithm could be free from the need for the time consuming post-processing, which eliminates holes by revisiting every boundary cell. Through three experiments of surface construction from volume data, its capability of hole avoidance is showed.

A Study on the standardize the characteristic evaluation of DC magnetron sputtered silver coatings for engineering purposes (D.C. magnetron sputter를 이용한 Ag layer 건식 도금층의 특성 평가 국제 표준화에 대한 연구)

  • Silver films have been of considerable interest for years due to their better performance relative to other metal films for engineering applications. A series of multi-layer silver coatings with different thickness (i.e. 0.3 um to 1.5 um) were prepared on Aluminium substrate containing copper undercoat by direct current (DC) magnetron sputtering method. For the comparative purpose, similar thickness silver coatings were prepared by electrolytic deposition method. Microstructural, morphological, and mechanical characteristics of the silver coatings were evaluated by means of scanning electron microscope (SEM), X-ray diffraction (XRD), Surface roughness test, microhardness test and nano-scratch test. From the results, it has been elucidated that the silver films prepared by DC magnetron sputtering method has superior properties in comparison to the wet coating method. On the other hand, DC magnetron sputtering method is relatively easier, faster, eco-friendly and more productive than the electrolytic deposition method that uses several kinds of hazardous chemicals for bath formulation. Therefore, a New Work Item Proposal (NWIP) for the test methods standardization of DC magnetron sputtered silver coatings has recently been proposed via KATS, Korea and a NP ballot is being progressed within a technical committee "ISO/TC107-metallic and other inorganic coating".

Evaluation of the Removal Performance of Nitrogen Oxides of Foam Composites Using Activated Carbon and Titanium Dioxide (활성탄소와 이산화 타이타늄을 활용한 폼 복합체의 질소산화물의 제거 성능 평가)

  • Nitrogen oxide(NOx) is a major cause of air pollution, exists in the form of nitrogen monoxide and nitrogen dioxide, and is harmful to the human body. Recently, a number of studies to reduce NOx in the atmosphere have been conducted, and these efforts have been the same in the field of construction materials. It is known that NOx can be efficiently removed by using a photocatalytic reaction. In this study, the NOx removal performance of the foam composite using activated carbon(AC) and titanium dioxide(TiO2) was investigated. AC was used to enhance the photocatalytic reaction of TiO2 by increasing the internal specific surface area of the foam composite. In this study, foam composites were prepared using the substitution rate of AC as the main variable. The NOx removal performance of specimen was evaluated according to the test method presented in ISO-22197-1. The specific surface area of the foam composite showed a tendency to increase according to the AC content, but decreased at 15% or more. Also, when the AC substitution rate was 15%, the NOx removal efficiency was the highest.
