지하수 모델을 이용한 제주도 지하수 유동특성 및 수리전도도 분석 (Analysis of Groundwater Flow Characterstics and Hydraulic Conductivity in Jeju Island Using Groundwater Model)

  • We used numerical models to reliably analyze the groundwater flow and hydraulic conductivity on Jeju Island. To increase reliability, improvements were made to model application factors such as hydraulic watershed classification, groundwater recharge calculation by precipitation, hydraulic conduction calculation using the pilot point method, and expansion of the observed groundwater level. Analysis of groundwater flow showed that the model-calculated water level was similar to the observed value. However, the Seogwi and West Jeju watersheds showed large differences in groundwater level. These areas need to be analyzed by segmenting the distribution of the hydraulic conductivity. Analyzing the groundwater flow in a sub watershed showed that groundwater flow was similar to values from equipotential lines; therefore, the reliability of the analysis results could be improved. Estimation of hydraulic conductivity distribution according to the results of the groundwater flow simulation for all areas of Jeju Island showed hydraulic conductivity > 100 m/d in the coastal area and 1 - 45 m/d in the upstream area. Notably, hydraulic conductivity was 500 m/d or above in the lowlands of the eastern area, and it was relatively high in some northern and southern areas. Such characteristics were found to be related to distribution of the equipotential lines and type of groundwater occurrence.

제주특별자치도의 환경자원 인식 변화와 거주지에 따른 비교 (Comparison of Changes in Environmental Resource Perception and Residential Areas on Jeju Island)

  • This study examines the changes in environmental resource perception and residential areas on Jeju Island. This study focuses on Jeju Island, which has prepared a legal framework for the total amount of environmental resources. The study identifies Jeju residents and non-provincial citizens, analyzes the differences between them, and suggests the future direction of the total amount system for environmental resources. This study aims to provide essential data necessary for successfully implementing the assigned environmental resources. This will contribute to sustainable growth and preserving valuable environmental resources in an era where environmental importance is increasing. The findings indicate that both Jeju residents and non-provincial citizens are satisfied with the current environmental resources on the island. However, when comparing past and current environmental resources, Jeju residents generally indicated lower satisfaction over time, whereas non-provincial citizens perceived an improvement over time. While overall satisfaction with the natural and local environment remains high, there is a notable increase in perception regarding the ecological value of plants, wildlife, wetlands, and Gotjawal areas compared to the past. These findings emphasize the importance of incorporating these high-priority components into the total environmental resource system for future consideration.

제주도 해안지역의 전기비저항 탐사 (Electrical Surveys in coastal areas of the Cheju Island)

  • 제주도 해안지역에서의 지하 비저항 구조를 밝혀내기 위한 목적으로 곽지리 지역과 신풍-신천리 지역에서 수직 및 수평 전기 탐사가 수행되었다. 일반적으로 이 지역들의 지전기적 구조는 수리지질학적인 구조와 가장 밀접하게 연관되어 있으며 지하의 비저항구조의 파악은 지하수 수급 문제의 해결을 위해서도 매우 중요하다. 해안 지역에서 얻어진 전기 탐사의 결과는 비록 지역적인 차이를 보이고 있기는 하지만 지하심부로 내려갈수륵 그 비저항치가 감소하는 현상, 평균해수면 부위의 비저항치가 대부분 지하수에 의해 영향을 받는 지층의 비저항치를 나타내는 현상, 그리고 지하의 저 비저항대가 보고된 지하수위와 매우 좋은 상관을 보인다는 점등의 특징을 지니고 있다. 본 전기 탐사 연구를 통해 제주지역 지층의 비저항을 다음과 같은 몇 개의 범주로 구분할 수 있다. 지하수에 포화되지 않은 지층의 비저항은 1000 ohm-m이상이며 지하 담수에 의해 포화된 지층의 경우는 수백 ohm-m 정도로 간주된다. 또한 해수에 의해 포화된 지층의 비저항은 수십 ohm-m정도의 값을 갖는다. 일반적으로 제주지역의 지하 비저항 분포는 지표의 지질보다는 주로 지하 지층의 수리적 특성과 지하수의 성분 등에 더 큰 영향을 받는 것으로 판단된다.

제주도 김녕 연안해역의 방어 어장형성 특성과 자원생물학적 기초 연구 (Acharacteristics on the forming of fishing ground and population ecological study of Yellow tail, Seriola quinqueradiata, in the coastal waters off Gim-nyeong of Jeju Island, Korea)

  • The forming of fishing ground and the population ecological characteristics of yellowtail, Seriola quinqueradiata, in the coastal waters off Gim-nyeong of Jeju Island were investigated. The stock of yellowtail, Seriola quinqueradiata, between Jeju Island and coastal areas of the East Sea is probably the same. Water temperature probably is a major factor for controlling distribution of yellowtails in deeper, offshore areas off Jeju Island. However, the major factor that determines aggregation of yellowtails in coastal areas of Jeju Island, especially off Gim-nyeong is probably strong tidal currents driven by distribution of yellowtails rather than hydrological conditions such as Yellowtails collected off Jeju Island were from 1 to 4yrs old and about 50% of them were $1^{-yr}$ old, probably indicating overfishing. Jack mackerel was the major prey item for yellowtails off Gim-nyeong from October to March, suggesting concurrence of the two species.

Influence of roadkill during breeding migration on the sex ratio of land crab (Sesarma haematoche)

  • Adult land crabs generally live on land while their larvae live in the sea. In the case of Sesarma haematoche, female crabs migrate from land to sea to release the larvae at the high tide of syzygy night. Artificial structures along coastal areas are being obstacles for the migration of land crabs and causing synchronized roadkills on coastal roads during breeding migration. In this research, we compared the sex ratios of crab populations in coastal areas with coastal roads and uninhabited island areas with no road. The proportion of females in inland habitats with coastal roads was significantly smaller than island habitats. In particular, females are exposed to the risk of annually repeated roadkills, and the proportion of females decreases rapidly with their growth. If this tendency is general for land crab populations in the coastal areas with roads, significant road mortality of female land crabs during breeding migration can lead to severe population decline in coastal areas. Therefore, it is necessary to take an action to save land crabs crossing coastal roads.

광주지역의 여름철 열섬현상 측정 및 분석 (Measurement and Analysis of Heat Island in summer in Gwangju)

  • This study aims to identify the degree of heat island in summer in Gwangju. For the purpose the city was classified according to use and surface components and temperature of the city for 24 hours was measured. The period of measurement was from August 11 to 13. 2003(two days). As a result of the measurement, the daily standard temperature of the central business areas and downtown areas was about $26^{\circ}C$. That of new residential areas neighboring the downtown was $25.1^{\circ}C$, and that of the outer residential areas was $23.4^{\circ}C$. In comparison with the result that temperatures of the Gwangju University playground and the Gwangju Weather Bureau were $23.1^{\circ}C$ and $23.3^{\circ}C$ respectively, the temperature of the downtown was about $2.7^{\circ}C$ Higher and that of the new residential area in downtown was about $1.8^{\circ}C$ higher. And it was demonstrated that the downtown outer road under Mt. Mudeung is a low-temperature zone. When temperature of the city was measured based on surface components, the daily standard temperature of Gwangju Stream Bok-gae area was the highest, $24.2^{\circ}C$, followed by $23.6^{\circ}C$ of the downtown stream and $22.2^{\circ}C$ of the greens (city park) and the waterside area.

  • Due to the decrease in the school-age population and the overall population, school closures will continue to occur. Currently, most school closures are happening in rural areas, where geographical conditions often result in relatively poor educational, welfare, and cultural facilities compared to urban areas. Additionally, the proportion of elderly populations and migrant women is continuously increasing. In order to effectively utilize closed schools in the future, various efficient utilization methods that align with the social context of the respective regions will be necessary. The purpose of this study is to examine the status of closed school and utilization types in selected rural and island areas of similar sizes through field surveys and literature reviews. By comparing and analyzing these findings, we have identified the predominant utilization types in rural and island areas and assessed the current situation where utilization is lacking. Based on the results, we aim to provide fundamental data for improving and enhancing the utilization of school closures in the face of the ongoing decline in the school-age population.

울릉도의 귀화식물 분포 (The Distribution of non-native Plants in Ulleung Island)

  • Non-native flora of the Ulleung island, located in the eastern part of South Korea, was surveyed as 54 taxa with 16 families, 35 genera, 53 species and 1 variety. Considering the geographical distribution aspects of the island, the flora of the island showed more closely related with Korean Peninsular than Japan. Poaceace (28%) and Asteraceae (24%) represents more than 50% of the non-native flora in Ulleung island, meaning that they have an advantage of seed dispersal and adaptation to new environments. Ulleung island is comparatively small island of vulnerable to the attack of invasive alien plants but presently, it has the least number of non-native plants than other areas in South Korea. Therefore, we need to take much interest in prevention and mitigation of non-native plant in the future.

시계열 Landsat TM 영상과 연간 지표온도순환 모델을 이용한 열섬효과 분석 (Analysis of Urban Heat Island Effect Using Time Series of Landsat Images and Annual Temperature Cycle Model)

  • 다중분광 위성영상을 이용한 원격탐측 기술은 광범위한 지역의 열섬효과 분석에 있어 유용하게 활용될 수 있다. 하지만 우리나라와 같이 구름이 많은 기상조건은 위성영상을 활용한 주기적인 관측을 어렵게 한다. 이에 본 연구에서는 시계열 Landsat 영상과 ATC 모델을 이용한 열섬현상 분석 방법을 제안하였다. 식생상태와 도시화정도를 분석하기 위하여 Landsat 영상으로부터 NDVI와 NDBI를 산출하였으며 ATC 모델의 파라미터 추정을 위하여 Landsat 열적외선 영상으로부터 지표온도를 산출하여 활용하였다. 또한 토지 피복 및 이용형태에 따른 열섬현상 분석을 위해 환경부에서 제공하는 토지피복도를 기반으로 ATC 모델의 파라미터를 비교하였다. 산출한 분광지수와 ATC 모델의 파라미터 간의 상관관계를 분석한 결과 ATC 모델의 MAST는 NDVI 및 NDBI와 각각 -0.76, 0.69 의 강한 상관관계를 보였으며, YAST는 NDVI 및 NDBI와 각각 -0.53, 0.42의 상관관계를 나타냈다. 토지 피복 및 이용형태에 따라 ATC 모델의 파라미터를 비교한 결과 도시 지역에서의 MAST와 YAST가 도시 주변의 농업지역, 초지 등에 비해 높게 나타나는 것을 확인하였다. 또한 도시 지역 내에서 주거지역, 산업지역, 상업지역, 교통지역이 문화 체육 휴양지역, 공공시설지역에 비해 높은 MAST를 나타나며 주거지역, 산업지역, 상업지역이 다른 도시 지역들보다 높은 YAST 값을 지님을 확인할 수 있었다.

서남권 의료불평등 개선을 위한 방안 -도서 지역을 중심으로- (A Strategy for the Improvement of Health Care Inequality in the Southwestern region of Korea - Around the island area)

  • 본 연구의 목적은 의료취약지 특히 서남권 도서지역의 의료불평등 정도를 파악하고 개선점을 마련해 보고자 시도되었다. 연구방법으로는 '의료취약', '의료불평등', '도서지역' 등을 키워드로 하여 체계적 문헌고찰을 하여 14편을 분석하였으며, 또한 공공의료전달체계에 있는 의료인 9명에게 포커스그룹 혹은 심층 인터뷰(FGI)를 시행하여 현황 및 요구도를 파악하였다. 연구결과로는 서남권 특히 도서지역의 의료불평등을 확인할 수 있었으며, FGI통해 전문인력의 부족, 행정지원체계의 부족 등을 확인할 수 있었다. 연구의 결론으로 도서지역의 취약성을 개선하기 위한 적극적 행정적 지원은 물론 공공의료의 효율성이 높아 질 수 있는 현실적인 방안이 마련되어져야 함을 확인할 수 있었다.
