셀룰로오스 나노 결정을 도입한 폴리아릴렌 피페리디늄 음이온 교환 복합매질분리막 (Cellulose Nanocrystals Incorporated Poly(arylene piperidinium) Anion Exchange Mixed Matrix Membranes)

  • 음이온 교환막은 수전해 시스템에서 매우 중요한 역할을 하며, 생성된 수소와 산소 기체를 물리적으로 분리할 뿐만 아니라 전극 사이에서 수산화 이온의 선택적인 전달을 용이하게 한다. 음이온 교환막에 요구되는 특성은 수산화 이온에 대한 높은 전도도와 알칼리 환경에서의 화학적/기계적 안정성 등이 있다. 본 연구에서는 셀룰로오스 나노 크리스탈이 포함된 poly(terphenyl piperidinium) (qPTP/CNC) 복합매질분리막을 제조하였다. 고분자 매질로 사용된 poly(terphenyl piperidinium)은 super-acid 중합법을 통해 제조되었으며 이온전도성과 알칼라인 내구성이 뛰어난 소재로 알려져 있다. qPTP/CNC 분리막의 구조는 고분자와 나노 입자 계면의 공극이나 큰 응집체가 없는 조밀하고 균일한 형태를 나타냈다. CNC 나노 입자가 2wt% 첨가된 qPTP/CNC 분리막은 높은 이온교환용량(1.90 mmol/g)과 낮은 함수율(9.09%) 및 팽윤도(5.56%)를 보였다. 또한, 복합막은 수전해 작동 환경인 50℃ 1 M KOH에서 상용 FAA-3-50 분리막에 비해 월등히 낮은 저항과 우수한 알칼라인 내구성(384시간)을 달성했다. 이러한 결과는 친수성 첨가제인 CNC가 음이온 교환막의 이온 전도 특성과 알칼라인 내구성 향상에 기여할 수 있음을 보고하였다.

  • The electron energy distributions function were analysed in sulphur hexaflouride at E/N : 500~800(Td) for a case of non-equilibrium ion in the mean electron energy. This paper describes the electron transport characteristics in SF$_{6}$ gas calculated for range of E/N values from 150~800(Td) by the Monte Carlo simulation and Boltzmann equation method using a set of electron collision cross sections determined by the authors and the values of electron swarm parameters. The results gained that the value of an electron swarm parameter such as the electron drift velocity, the electron ionization or attachment coefficients, longitudinal and transverse diffusion coefficients agree with the experimental and theoretical for a range of E/N. Paraquat 저항성(抵抗性) 및 내성(耐性) 발현(發現) 기구(機構) (Mode of Resistance and/or Tolerance Action of Paraquat)

  • Resistance to paraquat (1,1'-dimethyl-4,4'-bipyridilium ion) has developed in 12 species of 8 genera to which paraquat has been applied 6 to 10 times per year for 5 or more years. In recent years, tolerance to paraquat has been found in Rehmannia glutinosa (Gaertn.) Liboch. ex Fisch. & Mey. which has never been applied with any herbicides involving paraquat. In this review, we differentiate the terms, resistance and tolerance, on the basis of the paraquat-exposure history. Five hypotheses have been evaluated in several species as potential mechanisms of paraquat resistance and/or tolerance. In a species, the mode of action may be due to 1) reduced quantities of paraquat absorbed through the leaf surface, 2) detoxification of paraquat caused by the enhanced paraquat-metabolic activity, 3) rapid sequestration reducing level of paraquat at the site of action in chloroplast, 4) alteration of site of action in photosystem I resulting in interruption of electron transport to paraquat, and 5) rapid enzymatic detoxification of superoxide and other toxic forms of oxygen.

Chloride Diffusion in Mortars - Effect of the Use of Limestone Sand Part I: Migration Test

  • In order to determine the effect of the use of limestone sand on chloride ion ingress in mortar, specimens were cast with two different sands: siliceous sand (used as reference) and limestone crushed sand (used for this study). To compare and assess the resistance of this mortar to chloride penetration, two different diffusions tests were employed: slow migration and rapid migration (AASHTO test). In this study, calculation of the effective diffusion coefficient is proposed using a model based on Nernst. Planck equation. The diffusion coefficients from each sample were compared. The results for all tests show that the diffusion coefficients for siliceous sand mortar are larger than those obtained with limestone sand. It appears also that the diffusion coefficient varies as a function of the W/C ratio.

  • Cd4SnSea6 & Cd4SnSe6 : Co2+ single crystals were grown by the chemical transport reaction (CTR) method. The grown single crystlas crrystallize in the monoclinic structrue and have the direct band gaps. The energy gaps of them are 1.68eV for Cd4SnSea6 & Cd4SnSe6 : Co2+ at 293K. The impurity opticla absorption peaks due to cobalt dped with impurity appear at 4879cm-1, 5392cm-1 and 6247 com-1, and are attributed to the electron transitions between the split energy levels of Co2+ ion sited at Td symmetry of Cd4SnSe6 single crystal.

  • CdS and $CdS:Co^{2+}$ single crystals were grown by CTR method using iodine as transport material. The grown single crystals have defect chalcopyrite structure with direct band gap. The optical energy band gap was decreased according to add of Co-impurity. We can observed the Co-impurity optical absorption peaks assigned to the $Co^{2+}$ ion sited at the $T_d$ symmetry lattice and we consider that they were attributed to the electron transitions between energy levels of ions.

Atomistic modeling for 3D dynamci simulation of ion implantation into crystalline silicon

  • In this paper are presented a newly proposed 3D monte carlo (MC) damage model for the dynamic simulation in order to more accurately and consistently predict the implant-induced point defect distributions of the various ions in crystalline silicon. This model was applied to phosphorus implants for the ULSI CMOS technology developement. In additon, a newly applied 3D-trajectory split method has been implemented into our model to reduce the statistical fluctuations of the implanted impurity and the defect profiles in the relatively large implanted area as compared to 1D or 2D simulations. Also, an empirical electronic energy loss model is proposed for phosphorus and silicon implants. The 3D formations of the amorphous region and the ultra-shallow junction around the implanted region could be predicted by using our model, TRICSI(Transport ions into crystal-silicon).

Reference Electrode for Monitoring Cathodic Protection Potential

  • Reference electrodes are generally implemented for the purpose of monitoring the cathodic protection potentials of buried or immersed metallic structures. In the market, many types of reference electrodes are available for this purpose, such as saturated calomel, silver/silver chloride and copper/copper sulfate. These electrodes contain a porous ceramic junction plate situated in the cylindrical body bottom to permit ionic flux between the internal electrolyte (of the reference electrode) and the external electrolyte. In this work, the copper/copper sulfate reference electrode was modified by replacing the porous ceramic junction plate for a metallic platinum wire. The main purpose of this modification was to avoid the ion copper transport from coming from the inner reference electrode solution into the surrounding electrolyte, and to mitigate the copper plating on the coupon surfaces. Lab tests were performed in order to compare the performance of the two mentioned reference electrodes. We verified that the experimental errors associated with the measurements conducted with developed reference electrode would be negligible, as the platinum surface area exposed to the surrounding electrolyte and/or to the reference electrolyte are maintained as small as possible.

  • ${\beta}{\cdot}In_2S_3$${\beta}{\cdot}In_2S_3:Co^{2+}$$In_2S_3$+S+ZnS를 출발물질로 하여 ($ZnCl_2+I_2$)를 수송매체로 사용한 chemical transport reaction method로 성장시켰다. 성장된 단결정은 tetragonal structure를 갖고 298K에서 indirect optical energy gap은 2.240eV, 1.814eV로 각각 주어졌고, direct optical energy gap은 2.639eV, 2.175eV로 각각 주어졌다. ${\beta}{\cdot}In_2S_3:Co^{2+}$ single crystal에서 impurity optical absorption peak가 나타났으며, 이들 peaks의 origin은 $Co^{2+}(Td)$ ion의 energy level 간의 electron transition임을 crystal field theory를 적용하여 규명하였다.

아산만일대(牙山灣一帶) 해저퇴적물(海底堆積物)에 대(對)하여 (Bottom sediments of the Asan bay, west coast of Korea)

  • Nearly 300 bottom sediments and 20 box-cores were sampled from the Asan bay. The central portion of the Asan bay is covered by sand, slightly gravelly sand and gravelly muddy sand. Between the central and marginal zones gravelly mud and slightly gravelly sandy mud are characteristically distributed. The gravel population in the sediments seems to be originated from the rocky bottom on the area near the bay because the gravel is angular and composed of the schist and gneiss. The quartz/feldspar ratio is about 3/2. It is considered to be that the amount of feldspar in this bay is much higher than that of any other areas in the Yellow Sea. This is considerd to be comparatively short distance of transport ion of these sediment from the provenance.
