고압 나트륨 램프 구동용 전력변환장치의 역률 개선 (Power Factor improvement of Power Conversion Equipment for High Pressure Sodium Lamps)

  • HPSL(High Pressure Sodium lamp)have attracted much attention in recent years, because they offer high luminous efficiency and very long life. Recently, AC-DC converters have been widely as power factor improvement circuits in the power conversion equipment An application of the ZVT-PWM(Zero Voltage Transition Pulse Width Modulation) boost converter, which has great advantage on miniaturization and high power density, to the power factor improvement circuit of the HPSL inverter are described to identify the power factor correction characteristics of the inverter. In this paper the series-parallel resonant inverter(electronic ballast) for driving a HPS lamp is discussed. Finally, a power factor corrector is cascaded in front of the electronic ballast. Consequently, a high power factor above 0.99 and low THD on the line current can be achieved.

  • This paper introduces an implementation of high performance voltage source inverter system based on 16bit micro-processor and DSP for the application to modem rolling stock traction system. In contrast with other industry oriented inverter system, this system requires precise control action complying with various load condition and high overload capability. An asynchronous PWM generation and 3' pulse mode technology are adopted in order to improve compliant starting torque characteristics at starting phase and soft backward-forward starting motion.

  • This paper suggests a new type of 4-switch inverter for switched reluctance motor drives. 4-switch Inverter topology is studied to provide possibility for the realization of cost of 3-phase SRM drive system. We used Y-connection and two-phase exciting method. For effective utilization of the developed system, a direct current controlled PWM scheme is designed and implemented to produce the desired dynamic. We solve to balance the neutral point of Y-connection by the direct current controlled PWM and examine the performance of proposed system. With the algorithm and developed control scheme, is expected that the proposed system can be widely used in commercial applications with a reduced system cost.

  • PWM inverter-fed traction motor is able to occur problems by additive transient surge stress and harmonic loss in contrast with motor driven by 60Hz sine wave alternating source. Therefore in this paper, test method and standard of existed already were investigate, "thermal + electric" complex degradation test that considered additive degradation occurred by inverter drive carried out in order to obtain insulation reliability of traction motor driven by inverter. It seems that this test method confers large value of application at reliability estimation which the subject of complete motor not windings sample from now on.

  • This paper makes a general description of the results at government project which were peformed for several years. Through this project, the real capacity of 3.3KV/4MW Class 3 Level Voltage Source Inverter System were designed and the characteristics of its proto type were analyzed, moreover the web based IIMS(Inverter Information Management System) and Virtual Operation Simulator was developed. Now, this system is running for field application test.

  • This paper examines the application of high voltage static var compensator(SVC) with cascade multilevel inverter which employs H~bridge inverter(HBI). The SVC system is modeled using the d-q transform which calculates the instantaneous reactive power. This model is used to design a controller and analyze the SVC system. From the mathematical model of the system, the design procedures of the circuit parameters Land C are presented in this thesis. To meet the specific total harmonic distortion(THD) and ripple factor of the capacitor voltage, the circuit parameters Land C are designed. Simulated and experimental results are also presented and discussed to validate the proposed schemes.

  • 본 논문은 전력변환 시스템의 제어 특성 개선을 위해 전향제어를 갖는 다변수 상태궤환제어를 제시하였다. 이론의 적용대상은 3상 전압형 PWM 컨버터 및 인버터 그리고 3상 전류형 PWM 컨버터 및 인버터 시스템이며, 이들의 등가회로 및 모델링이 유도되고 해석되었다. 다양한 시뮬레이션에 의해 제시된 방법의 타당성을 검증하였다.

  • 본 논문에서는 LCD backlight 구동을 위한 Dual charge pump inverter를 제안하였다. 제안 회로는 넓은 입력 및 부하 범위에서 영전압 스위칭(Zero Voltage Switching) 동작을 보장하여 효율이 높은 장점을 가진다. 기존 full bridge 방식의 회로와 비교하여 동등한 수준의 소자 전압 스트레스를 가지며, 트랜스포머 1차측 양단 전압을 Full_Bridge 방식에 비해 2배로 만들 수 있어 트랜스포머의 턴비 감소 효과를 얻을 수 있다. 또한 각 소자 전류 스트레스를 기존 대비 1/2로 줄일 수 있는 장점을 가진다. 위와 같이 제안한 회로의 타당성 검증을 위해 시뮬레이션과 40인치 LCD Pannel에 적용하여 실험을 수행하였다.

  • In this paper, an application of the ZVT-PWM(zero-voltage-transition) boost converter, which has great advantage on miniaturization and high power density, to the power factor correction circuit of the EFL(electrodeless fluorescent lamp) inverter is studied. The operation principles of the converter are described to identify the power factor correction characteristic of the inverter. Experimentally obtaining the high power factor above 0.99, it is verified that the power factor correction of the EFL inverter successfully achieved.

  • Despite many advantages, d-q theory was available only for three phase system. But recently, some papers proposed the application methods of d-a theory or similar theories for single phase systems. This paper presents the control method of the utility-connected single-phase inverter using d-q theory. The suggested method gives single-phase system instantaneous controllability and also makes the realization of APF(Active Power Filter) without DFT operation and PFC(Power Factor Controller) possible. This paper deals with utility-connected single phase inverter with PFC function. The controller was verified by simulation tool.
