This paper describes the design of Korean electronic Mail system which is installed at DECnet in Seoul National University computer center. In our system we introduce facilities for command processing and naming service in Korean, which was impossible in most mail systems. We emphasize flexibility in the design of Message Transfer Agent, for there are numer-ous code representions for Korean language.

The laboratory astrophysics is a new emerging field of basic sciences, and has tremendous discovery potentials. The laboratory astrophysics investigates the basic physical phenomena in the astrophysical objects in controlled and reproducible manners, which has become possible only recently due to the newly-established intense photon and ion beam facilities worldwide. In this presentation, we will introduce several promising ideas for laboratory astrophysics programs that might be readily incorporated in the Pohang Accelerator Laboratory X-ray Free Electron Laser (PAL-XFEL). For example, precise spectroscopic measurements using Electron Beam Ion Trap (EBIT) and intense X-ray photons from the PAL-XFEL can be performed to explore the fundamental processes in high energy X-ray phenomena in the visible universe. Besides, in many violent astrophysical events, the energy density of matter becomes so high that the traditional plasma physics description becomes inapplicable. Generation of such high-energy density states can be also be achieved by using the intense photon beams available from the PAL-XFEL.

This article aims to introduce the synchrotron radiation for its utilization in the casting and solidification fields as an unique tool for observation of real time phenomena of molten metal during solidification. General features of the synchrotron radiation were briefly introduced for readers in the casting and solidification fields, with no background regarding to synchrotron radiation. And basic principles of imaging technologies using synchrotron light for in-situ observation of molten metal were explained together with exemplary research works, which were reported on the casting and solidification fields in recent years. As a practical guide, real time observation of Al-Si casting alloy was introduced with experimental facilities, image acquisition, and processing together with representative results.

Nowadays coustomer's needs for high surface quality steel sheet has greatly increased, so it is necessary to pay more attention to the roll grinding, texturing and handling. POSCO can acquire high surface quality roll and high productivity through World-first fully automated Roll Shop system which had been constructed '94.10.1∼'97.8.28 at Kwangyang Works. Roll Shop Automation System consists of Level-I, II, III control system and 23 automated machines. After the completion of the construction, the system started smoothy and keeps its operation with high productivity as expected. The installation of this system gave an epoch-making man power saving. This paper introduce its main facilities and operation.

This study focuses on the policy priorities for training agro-healing experts. Training agro-healing experts is an important task that should boost local community in rural areas. In order to make an efficient decision making, the study analyses priority of relevant policies using the AHP(Analytic Hierarchy Process) method. According to the results, R&D comes out first. Human Resource Development(HRD), financial support, and the construction of legal system comes after R&D. In R&D, qualifications and guidelines for participants comes out the most significant issue. In the aspect of HRD, it is very important to develop and utilize regional personnel such as unemployed youth and retirees from related fields. As for financial support, funding for educational facilities (i.e. classrooms and farmland for practice) is needed. In case of legal system, it is desirable to introduce the recruiting experts system and qualification system certified by government.

In most productive facility of pharmaceutical companies, the fumigation using formaldehyde gas has been put into operation. Because formaldehyde gas is so bactericidal as to sterilize bacterial spore which can not be sterilized with usual disinfectants, it has been used for fumigation in many facilities such as facility of experimental animals, research institute and productive facility of pharmaceutical companies which are required to be high level of biological clean. However, the use of formaldehyde is recently under the strict management because of its causing of sick house and carcinogenesis. We introduce the conditions of sterilization using formaldehyde gas, the examples of sterilization using formaldehyde gas in a pharmaceutical manufacture and the problems of use of formaldehyde against environments and health. Further, we describe the characteristics and future subjects of the sterilization method using gasified oxidants such as hydrogen peroxide, peracetic acid and chlorine oxide.

KESCO performed periodical inspection every 1${\sim}$3 years to check the status of maintenance and performance of electric installations for general use (less than 600V in voltage and 75kW in capacity in residential homes) but recently a resident have been avoiding periodical check due to increase of sex crime and empty house, which more and more difficult to secure electrical safety of installation. In order to solve non-inspection problems and improve efficiency of inspection, this paper introduce the model of remote monitoring system that check electrical facilites for general use and we are developing remote monitoring device for reliability test.

This paper introduce the model of remote monitoring system that combine information technology in electrical safety checks that has been done by professional staff. And for general use, electrical safety Value-Added Service using remote check data were presented. In the near future, If demand and interests of Value-Added Service will be increased, this will be a electrical safety Value-Added Service as an important role in the blind spot of country electricity disaster.

WiBro service provider have made an effort to provide the subscriber's location and have deployed LBS system using cell-ID method. Cell-ID method has a location error problem if repeater is used on the other cell places at the same time. We introduce and analysis LMU(Location Measurement Unit) on the repeater fer location detection of subscriber which is serviced via the repeater. In this paper we propose the method using LMU on the repeater to avoid these location errors and to provide more exact location to the subscriber. we can conclude that the location error can be more exact at the building which uses repeater. It represents in which level the subscriber is serviced at the building.

The aim of this study is to provide the background of developing guides to clinical performance and basic clinical skills and to introduce how to teach and learn using the guide. The students' performance problems presented in an objective clinical skills examination were disease-centered tertiary hospital clinical care, incomplete performance, doing by rote, and an exam-oriented learning attitude. The problems were caused by a tertiary hospital-based educational environment as well as schools and faculty who are unfamiliar with the concept of patient-centered care. The purpose of the guide to clinical performance and basic clinical skills is to overcome these problems and address the causes. The guides show a clinical presentation approach to primary care; clinical care integrated with knowledge, skills, and attitude; a schematic approach; and a patient-centered attitude. To achieve these goals, a strategy to change the educational culture is important. Curricular reform, faculty development, and improving educational facilities and environments are suggested.
