  • The purpose of this study is to investigate the effectiveness of the way-finding exercise using a map in rehabilitation of cognitive function and activities of daily living in patients with a stroke. For the seven patients diagnosed with hemiplegia from a stroke, we executed the way-finding exercise using a map in the hospital, three times a week for two weeks. Loewenstein Occupational Therapy Cognitive Assessment(LOTCA) and Functional Independence Measure(FIM) were used to measure the cognitive function and performance of activities of daily living before and after intervention. For the visual perception area and the spatial relations of the spatial perception area of LOTCA, scores were significantly higher than before intervention(p<.05). For the walk/wheelchair of locomotion area and the problem solving of the social cognition area of FIM, scores were significantly higher than before intervention(p<.05). The results of this study show that a way-finding exercise for patients with a stroke is a useful therapeutic approach by enhancing cognitive function and performance of activities of daily living.

  • The purpose of this study was to compare the health behaviors and health indices according to whether a percutaneous coronary intervention(PCI) was performed due to chest pain. This is a secondary data analysis study of nursing information questionnaires and electronic medical records of 247 chest pain patients in a hospital from January 2010 to December 2017. The participants were divided into non-PCI and PCI groups, and the health behaviors, blood pressure, and blood lipid levels were collected at the first hospital admission and re-admission. Collected data were analyzed using SPSS 24.0. As a result of the study, smoking and lipid levels were significantly healthier than the participants in PCI group during re-hospitalization. Non-PCI group had a high risk of smoking despite the high risk of coronary artery stenosis. It was found that continuous integrated management to promote health behavior is needed. The significance of this study was to identify the importance of health behavior in patients with the risk of cardiovascular disease.

  • The purpose of this study is to explore the meaning of the essence through the parenting experience of the mother with ADHD child and to divide the parenting experience into the domains and categories. The data was collected through several depth interviews with 12 semi-structured questionnaires of the mother with ADHD child. The analysis of the data has adopted a consensus qualitative research method(CQR) that describes the phenomenon based on the collected data and can deduce inductive conclusions. Through CQR, various experiences of ADHD mothers were deeply analyzed. Through the consensus process, 12 cases were combined and quantified to understand the overall pattern and specificity. As a result, 11 domains and 51 categories were derived. The 11 areas were classified as 'Ignorance of ADHD symptom', 'Confronting ADHD diagnosis', 'Peripheral reaction after ADHD diagnosis', 'Acceptance of ADHD diagnosis', 'Ambivalence for medication', 'ADHD active treatment intervention', 'Family support','Social support', 'Social perception change', and 'Mature parent'. This suggests that early treatment and intervention for ADHD child is significant. Also, appropriate intervention is required based on accurate understanding through acceptance of ADHD diagnosis and that parent education can lead to positive life for child and mother of ADHD. Finally, based on this, I made suggestions the future research.

  • The purpose of this study was to analyze the errors of the built - in dose area product and the calibrated moving dose area product when using automatic exposure controller of the interventional equipment. And then, the importance of the dosimeter calibration and the necessity of the calibration guideline were investigated. The experimental method was to assemble the phantom into Thin, Normal, and Heavy Adult according to the NEMA Phantom manual and to measure the dose area with the built-in dose area product and the moving dose area product. As a result, in all thicknesses, the built-in dose area product showed higher doses than the moving dose area product, and the thicker the thickness, the larger the difference. In addition, paired t-test was performed for each item and there was a significant difference in each item between p<0.05. In conclusion, considering the intervention which is highly exposed to the radiation exposure, it is that we have to know the accurate dose when using the AEC of the equipment. And there is no calibration guide for the built-in dose area meter, thus calibration guidelines should be prepared.
