  • The reciprocal relationship between the interpersonal tie and the internet dependency is focused in the study. Mainly, chi-squire test and ANOVA are used in testing the hypothesized relationship of the internet dependency with the interpersonal tie before and after using internet. The strong relationship with the internet dependency is found in internet's both-directional communicating function such as chatting, game, gambling, etc. The level of internet dependency is high when individual's tie with friends, colleagues, or neighbors is strong; but it is lower when individual's emotional tie with family members is stronger. It is confirmed that excessive usage of internet damages family relationship. Conversely, it is also clear that the emotional support from family members is essential for preventing or enhancing internet dependency. This implies that internet dependency is not an individual problem, but that it should be treated under the consideration of his/her family system.

  • In this study, current status of technology and realities of usage on wireless Internet for educational applications were examined, and based on related studies and case analysis, 'Matrix OX Quiz' that can be applied at present time was designed and built. Main characteristics of this system are as below: Firstly, an attempt was made to achieve educational effect by offering educational contents that are suitable for wireless Internet era, breaking away form limitations on time and space with previous wired Internet. Secondly, mobile phone was selected as the wireless Internet terminal considering the current wireless Internet usage environment and technology, and improved convenience by supporting WAP form Markup language used by SK telecommunications with the most enrollment at present. Thirdly, self-directed learning capability of students can be improved through lessons utilizing wireless Internet. Especially, responsibilities for teaming can be increased through lessons utilizing wireless Internet, and abilities needed for solving immediate problems can be developed. Therefore, the educational contents built in this study should have sufficient educational effects if wireless Internet becomes widely spread and most students can easily use it in near future.

  • Purpose: The research was to investigate the relationship between Internet addiction and eating behaviors of college students. Methods: Sampled for sake of convenience, 507 college students in Kwang-ju and Chun-nam area were surveyed from September 3rd to September 10th 2008. The contents of the survey consist of general, academic, health behavior, internet usage, internet addiction and eating habit traits. Results: 49.3% of subjects were appeared to be addicted to internet, while male students had higher addiction rate of 54.9% than female student with 40.3%. Significantly, eating behaviors are worse in the group of mild and serious internet addiction, arts students, the group that recognizes its living standard as normal or richer, and also in the group that takes breakfast less seriously. These groups were appearing 47.0% of addiction rate. Conclusion: For college students, internet addiction was proved to be effective significantly in eating behavior. It is required to establish appropriate measures such as internet usage control to settle proper eating behavior of college students.

  • In this paper we describe an efficient and easy to use internet stopper, which is called AINS (Automatic Internet Stopper), which uses ARP spoofing scheme. Instead of forwarding packets to router for the case of hacking, in ARP spoofing, the AINS ignores all the packets so that internet stopping operates. The AINS program needs to be installed only in manager computer that does not require additional agent program. In addition to setting manually the stopping computer list, it is able to indentify network nodes automatically by analyzing broadcasting packets. The experimental results show that less than 4 secs for spoofing interval is enough for blocking internet usage regardless the number of computers and therefore network overhead is negligible. The AINS can indentify and control network nodes not only on same subnet but also on different subnet only if they are connected onto same ethernet switch physically. It is being used for an efficient tool for controling internet usage of university computer laboratory and also for an efficient network management.

  • Traditional Internet pricing schemes are coming under continual pressure to adapt to, and encourage, a changing mix of Internet applications and consumer usage patterns. Much research effort over the last decade has been focused on developing more efficient and attractive charging schemes. However, none of the proposed models has been widely deployed. This raises questions regarding the inhibiting factors and missing pieces that make pricing the Internet such a challenge. In this paper, we discuss the problems with current Internet pricing schemes, review the history of Internet pricing research over the last ten years, and summarize the key features and motivations of the most significant models. We develop a novel visual approach to comparing and evaluating such schemes using a three-dimensional (3D) metric encompassing technical efficiency, economic efficiency, and social impact. We address and discuss the important factors that have inhibited the deployment of the reviewed models and suggest productive areas of focus for future Internet pricing research.

  • The internet telephony service is one of the successful internet application services. VoIP is the key technology for the service to come true. VoIP uses H.323 or SIP as the standard protocol for the distributed multimedia services over the internet environment, in which QoS is not guaranteed. VoIP carries the packetized voice by using the RTP/UDP/IP protocol stack. The UDP-based internet services cause the data transmission problem to the users behind the internet firewall. So does the internet telephony service. The users are not able to listen the voices of the counter-parts on the public internet or PSTN. It makes the problem more difficult that the internet telephony service addressed in this paper uses only one UDP port number to send the voice data of all sessions from gateway to terminal node. In this paper, two schemes including the usage of dummy UDP datagrams, and the protocol conversion are suggested. The implementation of one of the schemes, the protocol conversion, and the performance evaluation are described in detail.

  • Spread of internet service had a huge effect on usage and spread of SNS world widely. Variety of the service has increased from human network managing to commerce, education, payment method and so on. Also, it is expanding its service territory to not only PC area but also that of mobile equipment with development of information technology. Spread of use on SNS provides existing corporations the expansion of service area. Late SNS starter companies are advancing in diverse way for attracting users by serving shopping, games and other services with association with SNS. Therefore, analysis on consumers' thought and pattern which analyze users' demand, service's function and contents and other factors in order to reflect on plans and operations of SNS is needed. On this perspective, this research is suggesting properties that are crucially related to sustained usage of SNS and study factors of SNS's characteristics that influence trust and satisfaction on SNS and continuous usage intent of SNS.
