항공사 유통경로에 대한 e-비즈니스 파급효과 (e-Business Impacts on Distribution Channel in Airlines)

  • From the growth of internet technology, many e-commerce principles have been Introduced In airline industry. The computer reservation systems(CRS) has been considered as the first real-time business application and the earliest examples of e-commerce. in airlines, the early e-business activity was to build the web site for providing flight Information to customers. Recently, many airlines are expanding the capability of the web site for selling tickets on the web to make use of the cheaper distribution channel. In this paper, we focus on the impacts of airline e-business being implemented in airline distribution channels. Using the conjoint analysis, we suggest a model for estimating the change of market sales for each distribution channel. With the empirical survey, we can find some implications on the e-business strategy and the effective internet marketing tools for airlines.

  • Packet-based mobile multimedia services for the Internet differ with respect to their resource requirements, performance objectives, and resource usage efficiencies. Nonetheless, each mobile terminal should support a variety of multimedia services, sometimes even simultaneously. This paper proposes a sub-channel allocation scheme based on multi-level priority for supporting mobile multimedia services in an Orthogonal Frequency Division Multiple Access (OFDMA) system. We attempt to optimize the system for satisfying the Quality of Service (QoS) requirements of users and maximize the capacity of the system at the same time. In order to achieve this goal, the proposed scheme considers the Signal-to-Interference-plus-Noise Ratio (SINR) of co-sub-channels in adjacent cells, the Signal-to-Noise Ratio (SNR) grade of each sub-channel in the local cell on a per-user basis, and the characteristics of the individual services before allocating sub-channels. We used a simulation to evaluate our scheme with the performance measure of the outage probabilities, delays, and throughput.

  • In this thesis, we analyze performance related to reduction scheme of inter-cell interference causing serious problems in portable internet system. Frequency reusing factor(FUF) is 1 in portable internet system, and it means that a adjacent cell uses same frequency band. This channel environment raises inter-cell interference problem, which provokes serious problems related to system performance and channel capacity. Consequently, it affects deterioration in system performance as a whole.   • This paper introduces a new paradigm of physical layer security through channel coding for wireless networks. The well known spread spectrum based physical layer security in wireless network is applicable when code division multiple access (CDMA) is used as wireless air link interface. In our proposal, we incorporate the proposed security protocol within channel coding as channel coding is an essential part of all kind of wireless communications. Channel coding has a built-in security in the sense of encoding and decoding algorithm. Decoding of a particular codeword is possible only when the encoding procedure is exactly known. This point is the key of our proposed security protocol. The common parameter that required for both encoder and decoder is generally a generator matrix. We proposed a random selection of generators according to a security key to ensure the secrecy of the networks against unauthorized access. Therefore, the conventional channel coding technique is used as a security controller of the network along with its error correcting purpose.

  • This paper presents a systematic method of probing channel characteristics and communication reliabilities of home power line communication network applied to the Internet accessed control of home appliances. The effects of the three performance deteriorating factors, i.e., additive noise, channel attenuation, and intersymbol interference, can be systematically measured by applying the channel probing waveform in the frequency range from 100㎑ to 450㎑. Probability of bit error is derived with the probed channel parameters of the signal attenuation, noise and signal-to-interference ratio read in the frequency domain. The agreement between the derived probability of bit ewer and the measured probability of bit error support the validity of the proposed approach of probing home power line channel characteristics. The experimental results performed with the constructed test-bed applying the Proposed channel probing method and the operation reliability measurement of the overall networked system also support the feasibility of commercially deploying the PLC modem installed home appliances and their services for the Internet accessed home automation in densely populated residential apartment complexes.

On Practical Issue of Non-Orthogonal Multiple Access for 5G Mobile Communication

  • The fifth generation (5G) mobile communication has an impact on the human life over the whole world, nowadays, through the artificial intelligence (AI) and the internet of things (IoT). The low latency of the 5G new radio (NR) access is implemented by the state-of-the art technologies, such as non-orthogonal multiple access (NOMA). This paper investigates a practical issue that in NOMA, for the practical channel models, such as fading channel environments, the successive interference cancellation (SIC) should be performed on the stronger channel users with low power allocation. Only if the SIC is performed on the user with the stronger channel gain, NOMA performs better than orthogonal multiple access (OMA). Otherwise, NOMA performs worse than OMA. Such the superiority requirement can be easily implemented for the channel being static or slow varying, compared to the block interval time. However, most mobile channels experience fading. And symbol by symbol channel estimations and in turn each symbol time, selections of the SIC-performing user look infeasible in the practical environments. Then practically the block of symbols uses the single channel estimation, which is obtained by the training sequence at the head of the block. In this case, not all the symbol times the SIC is performed on the stronger channel user. Sometimes, we do perform the SIC on the weaker channel user; such cases, NOMA performs worse than OMA. Thus, we can say that by what percent NOMA is better than OMA. This paper calculates analytically the percentage by which NOMA performs better than OMA in the practical mobile communication systems. We show analytically that the percentage for NOMA being better than OMA is only the function of the ratio of the stronger channel gain variance to weaker. In result, not always, but almost time, NOMA could perform better than OMA.

  • 최근 빠른 주기로 많은 양의 새로운 정보가 생성되기 때문에, 개인별 관심 분야의 전문화와 블로그의 보급을 위해 RSS라는 신디케이션 기술이 제공되고 있다. 사용자는 RSS 수집기에 RSS 채널의 주소를 등록함으로써, 새롭게 갱신된 콘텐츠를 자동으로 전달받을 수 있어서 신규 정보를 찾기 위해 사이트에 지속적으로 접근하지 않아도 된다. 본 논문에서는 사용자가 웹상에 존재하는 RSS 문서를 효과적으로 이용할 수 있도록 RSS 채널의 주소를 수집하는 주제 중심의 수집가와 사용자 질의에 따른 RSS 채널의 순위 부여 방안을 제안한다. 제안된 RSS 수집기를 이용하면 사용자는 원하는 RSS 채널 주소를 효과적으로 검색 할 수 있어서 자료 검색의 효율성을 증진시킬 수 있다.

Load Aware Automatic Channel Switching for Software-Defined Enterprise WLANs

  • In the last decade, the 2.4 GHz band of IEEE 802.11 WLANs has become heavily congested due to the explosive increase in demand of Wi-Fi connectivity. With the current deployment of enterprise WLANs, channel switching mechanism continues to exhibit inefficiencies because it cannot adapt to real-time channel condition and the inability to support seamless channel switching. Software Defined Networking (SDN) as an emerging architecture is promising to introduce flexibility and programmability for wireless network management. Leveraging SDN to existing enterprise WLANs, channel switching method can be improved significantly. This paper presents a software-defined enterprise WLAN framework with a load aware automatic channel switching solution, which utilizes AP load and channel interference factor (CIF) to provide seamless channel switching. Two automatic channel switching algorithms named Single Switch (SS) and Double Switch (DS) are proposed to improve the overall user experience and the experience of users with highest traffic load respectively. Experiment results demonstrate that our solution can efficiently improve user experience in terms of jitter, transmission delay and network throughout when compared to the conventional channel switching mechanism.

Traffic Flow Estimation based Channel Assignment for Wireless Mesh Networks

  • Wireless mesh networks (WMNs) provide high-speed backbone networks without any wired cable. Many researchers have tried to increase network throughput by using multi-channel and multi-radio interfaces. A multi-radio multi-channel WMN requires channel assignment algorithm to decide the number of channels needed for each link. Since the channel assignment affects routing and interference directly, it is a critical component for enhancing network performance. However, the optimal channel assignment is known as a NP complete problem. For high performance, most of previous works assign channels in a centralized manner but they are limited in being applied for dynamic network environments. In this paper, we propose a simple flow estimation algorithm and a hybrid channel assignment algorithm. Our flow estimation algorithm obtains aggregated flow rate information between routers by packet sampling, thereby achieving high scalability. Our hybrid channel assignment algorithm initially assigns channels in a centralized manner first, and runs in a distributed manner to adjust channel assignment when notable traffic changes are detected. This approach provides high scalability and high performance compared with existing algorithms, and they are confirmed through extensive performance evaluations.
