  • Aeromonas spp., are Gram-negative rods that can cause infections in healthy and immunocompromised hosts. The clinical presentation of gastroenteritis varies from mild diarrhoea to shigella-like dysentery to severe cholera-like watery diarrhoea. Here, we report a case of acute hemorrhagic gastroenteritis in a newborn infant by Aeromonas caviae and its draft genome sequence. It is important to reduce the chance of incorrect isolate identification, which could lead to the exclusion of pathogenic Aeromonas spp., from routine laboratory identification in cases of diarrheal diseases. The genome sequence of A. caviae SVJ23 represents a significant step forward in understanding the diversity and pathogenesis, virulence, and antimicrobial resistance profile.

  • This paper presents a boundary-layer wind tunnel (BLWT) study on the effect of variable dominant openings on steady and transient responses of wind-induced internal pressure in a low-rise building. The paper presents a parametric study focusing on differences and similarities between transient and steady-state responses, the effects of size and locations of dominant openings and vent openings, and the effects of wind angle of attack. In addition, the necessity of internal volume correction during sudden breaching, i.e., a transient response experiment was investigated. A comparison of the BLWT data with ASCE 7-2010, as well as with limited large-scale data obtained at a 'Wall of Wind' facility, is presented.

  • This research is a literature survey on the Supply chain security. International organization and governments have build security regulations to improve the security in the shipment through supply chain. The researches on supply chain security were increasing during last 10 years. We were surveyed 53 research including Korean and international papers. ills study was classified by research subjects, security regulation, and research methods. Korean researches were focused to introducing and reviewing on the security regulation, but the researches on specific security reinforcement were very rare. International researches were concerned with the subject of the airport security scanning problem, transportation security problem, port selection problem.

  • In this paper presented are recent international activities on fire research. After a long history of exchanging ideas in individual international groups, the International Association for Fire Safety Science (IAFSS) was founded in 1985 at its first Symposium, and in 1988, it became a registered charity in England and Wales. The primary objectives of the association are encouraging research in the science of preventing and mitigating the adverse effects of fires and of providing a forum for presenting the results such research. In order to implement the objectives, the Association has held a series of Symposia. At the same time, regional activities have been performed to expand the activities of IAFSS into every individual country. The Asia-Oceania Association for Fire Science and Technology (AOAFST) was founded in 1992 at its first Symposium and the First European Regional IAFSS Symposium was held in Zurich in 1995. Extensive activities in fire research have been performed in Asian and Oceanian countries.

  • The purpose of this research is to conduct an empirical analysis regarding Korea's 'Marine Protected Areas (MPA)' from an international comparative perspective. The authors would like to present the policy direction of marine protected areas based on the result of the research. The result of this study can be summarized in the following manner: First, the total designated size of marine protected areas in Korea is very small compared to the sizes of other OECD nations . Second, while some nations have expanded the extent of marine protected areas in accordance with international agreements and criteria, Korea has not done so. Accordingly, we propose the designated dimensions of marine protected areas should be constantly expanded to keep pace with international trends.

  • Nowadays more and more attention is paid to digital technologies, digitization, and the digitization of public services in particular. Progressive countries aim to build "digital" governance and a digital economy. In this aspect, the international experience of using digitization in the field of public administration, including in local self-government bodies, plays an important role. Therefore, it is important to analyze the international legal experience of the functioning of local self-government in the conditions of digitization. The purpose of the work is to study the international legal experience of the functioning of local self-government in the conditions of digitization. The object of the study is local self-government in the conditions of digitization through the prism of international legal experience. The subject of the study is social relations that arise, change, and cease during the implementation of digitization in local self-government in Ukraine and foreign countries. The research methodology consists of such methods as the method of philosophical hermeneutics; dialectical method; classification method; comparative method; target method; method of documentary analysis; generalization method. Research results. As a result of the conducted research, the international experience of the functioning of local self-government in conditions of digitization was analyzed. In particular, the impact of digitization processes on the course of the decentralization reform in Ukraine is summarized. Also, from the analysis of international experience, a conclusion was made about the potential possibility of reducing the existing gap in the process of communication between the central government and united territorial communities thanks to the introduction of the latest technologies in the field of administrative services, to stimulate innovative and economic development of regions, attracting the attention of businesses and potential investors, as well as the functioning of more open local authorities with electronic communication tools.

  • International economic and legal cooperation can ensure the transition of agriculture to the trajectory of sustainable development. The paper considers in detail the set of common goals and problems of an international nature, the solution of which is aimed at global legal regulation of cooperation between states. It is also noted about the impact of information technology on agricultural development. The following methods of scientific cognition are used: a historical, systematic approach to research, method of analysis, and synthesis. Research results: a scientific idea of the importance of international cooperation in general and global collaboration in the field of agricultural production in particular. It is stated that states are obliged to cooperate, regardless of differences in their political, economic, and social systems, in various areas of international relations to maintain international peace, security and promote worldwide economic stability and progress, the common good of peoples. It is emphasized the need to build such relations in the agricultural sector, which take into account the interests of all states.

  • Background: Brucella infection induces brucellosis, a zoonotic disease. The intracellular circulation process and virulence of Brucella mainly depend on its type IV secretion system (T4SS) expressing secretory effectors. Secreted protein BspJ is a nucleomodulin of Brucella that invades the host cell nucleus. BspJ mediates host energy synthesis and apoptosis through interaction with proteins. However, the mechanism of BspJ as it affects the intracellular survival of Brucella remains to be clarified. Objectives: To verify the functions of nucleomodulin BspJ in Brucella's intracellular infection cycles. Methods: Constructed Brucella abortus BspJ gene deletion strain (B. abortus ∆BspJ) and complement strain (B. abortus pBspJ) and studied their roles in the proliferation of Brucella both in vivo and in vitro. Results: BspJ gene deletion reduced the survival and intracellular proliferation of Brucella at the replicating Brucella-containing vacuoles (rBCV) stage. Compared with the parent strain, the colonization ability of the bacteria in mice was significantly reduced, causing less inflammatory infiltration and pathological damage. We also found that the knockout of BspJ altered the secretion of cytokines (interleukin [IL]-6, IL-1β, IL-10, tumor necrosis factor-α, interferon-γ) in host cells and in mice to affect the intracellular survival of Brucella. Conclusions: BspJ is extremely important for the circulatory proliferation of Brucella in the host, and it may be involved in a previously unknown mechanism of Brucella's intracellular survival.
