Background: Medicinal plants are widely used in Asia. They have proven to be an invaluable asset in modern drug discovery and their demand has been steadily increasing across various industries. Methods and Results: Using 4,867 valid patents related to 12 oriental medicinal plants of 10 country groups, the growth and development potential of patents was evaluated. The cites per patent (CPP) and patent family size (PFS) indices were used to evaluate the market capability and technological level of the collected patents. Meanwhile, the patent impact index (PII) and technology strength (TS) were used to compare the technological competitiveness of patents among various technology types and markets. Both CPP and PFS indices showed that magnolia-vine and balloon flower have numerous core or original patents. Furthermore, an increase in both PII and TS indices was observed. A newly designed intellectual property multi-layer (IPM) model predicted that the medicine, genome and cosmetic categories have a high possibility of patent application growth. Conclusions: The IPM model can be used to provide the scope of particular technology fields for patent development. In addition, this study can assist patents to advance in the international market and guide the development of a national industrial strategy.

본 논문에서는 미래의 고성장 산업인 의료기기 분야 중 '보청기' 관련 기술의 신기술 개발 동향과 사업화 전략을 살펴보기 위해 우리나라에 최종 등록된 '보청기' 관련 특허 316건을 조사하고 이의 현황을 분석하였다. 또한 각 특허 기술의 핵심 기술 분야를 파악하기 위해 국제특허분류(International Patent Classification) 코드를 이용하여 분석하였다. 국제특허분류(IPC)의 서브 클래스(sub class)까지 기술 분류한 결과 가장 많은 기술 분야는 'H04R'로 160건에 이른다. 그 다음으로 'H04B' 분야에 46건, 'H01M' 분야에 40건, 그리고 'A61F' 분야에 19건 등의 특허 문헌이 존재하였다. 보청기의 기술적인 면에서는 디지털 기술과 신체 이식 기술의 두각을 확인할 수 있었고, 사업적인 면에서는 외국계 기업의 국내 특허 등록이 오래전부터 이루어졌음을 확인하였다.

Patent classification is becoming more critical as patent filings have been increasing over the years. Despite comprehensive studies in the area, there remain several issues in classifying patents on IPC hierarchical levels. Not only structural complexity but also shortage of patents in the lower level of the hierarchy causes the decline in classification performance. Therefore, we propose a new method of classification based on different criteria that are categories defined by the domain's experts mentioned in trend analysis reports, i.e. Patent Landscape Report (PLR). Several experiments were conducted with the purpose of identifying type of features and weighting methods that lead to the best classification performance using Support Vector Machine (SVM). Two types of features (noun and noun phrases) and five different weighting schemes (TF-idf, TF-rf, TF-icf, TF-icf-based, and TF-idcef-based) were experimented on.

무인화 기술은 전기, 전자, 기계, 인공지능 기술과 ICT 기술 등 다양한 기술들을 융 복합하는 대표적인 기술이다. 특히 지상 무인화 기술은 군사 분야에서 많은 연구 개발과 발전을 이루고 있으며 활용 영역을 확장하고 있다. 본 연구에서는 특허정보 분석을 위해 새로운 특허정보 분석 방법론을 제시하고, 지상 무인화 기술 관련 특허정보를 본 연구에서 제시한 특허정보 분석 방법을 이용하여 분석하였다. 핵심특허 및 기술을 추출하기 위한 특허정보 분석 프로세스는 6단계로 분석 대상 기술선정, 세부 기술 분류, 특허정보 수집, 특허정보 분석 방법 선정, 특허정보 분석, 마지막으로 핵심특허 및 핵심 기술 추출로 이루어 진다. 세부적으로 지상무인화 기술에 대한 기술 분류를 실시하고, 특허지수인 CPP와 IPC 코드 연결성 분석을 통해 지상 무인화 기술의 핵심기술과 핵심특허를 추출하였다. 제시된 특허정보 분석 방법을 이용한 특허정보 분석 결과는 다양한 분야의 기술에 적용하여 분석이 가능하고, 향후 연구개발 방향을 전망하는 자료로 활용할 수 있다.

This study analyzed the trends of patents for unmanned technology used in agriculture. The target countries for this survey of patent data were Korea, the USA and Japan as well as the countries in Europe. The indices used in this study to analyze the patents were the CPP (Cites Per Patent), PII (Patent Impact Index), and PFS (Patent Family Size). The total effective patents for unmanned technology used in agriculture were 1,080 cases. The number of patents in the USA, Japan, Europe, and Korea were 541, 326, 128 and 85 cases, respectively. Among the total effective patents, the evaluation scores for selected important patents were calculated by applying commonly used weights to each index, and the top 10 patents were selected as important patents. The results showed that all the top ten patents are owned by the United States and that the United States is an advanced country in the field of unmanned technology used in agriculture. The evaluation score of the important patents using the existing method was biased toward the PII index among the three patent evaluation standards, and the effects of the number of claims and the PFS were relatively small. Therefore, a reliable patent analysis in the field of unmanned technology used in agriculture needs to reflect the overall evaluation factors taking into consideration the scope of the evaluation factors.

Objectives : The purpose of this study is to present trends and contents of herbal Korean Medicine patches by analyzing the herbal patches in Korean patents. Methods : Electronic search for herbal patch patents was conducted in KIPRIS (Korea Intellectual Property Rights Information Service). Korean patents that were registered by January 1, 2018 were selected in study. Patents that were not using herbal medicine or not related to patch were excluded in this study. The applicant, application date, International Patent Classification (IPC), contents and adhesive site of patches, target diseases, model of experiment and extraction methods were analyzed. Results : A total of 17 patents were included in this study. In applicant analysis, 61.5% of applicants were corporations. All IPCs in patents were involved in Section A (Human necessities & Agriculture) and 66.7% of IPCs were A61K (Preparations formedical, dental, ortoiletpurposes). In types of patch, 8 patents were hydrogel patches (47.1%), followed by 3 heating patches (17.6%). Skin related symptoms were the most targeted diseases (52.9%), Human was the most used model in experiments. Solvent extraction and hot water extraction were used frequently, and some patents had no limit for extraction were also existed. Conclusions : The study results will be helpful to diversify formulation of herbal medicine, to expand market scale of patent and to develop new application using Korean medicine. In order to establish sufficient data for utilizing patent technologies, more patent studies providing analyzed patent information are needed.

Objectives : The purpose of this study was to analyze the trend of pharmacopuncture in Korean patent in order to establish database for patent technology. Methods : Electronic literature searches for Korean patents related to pharmacopuncture were performed in two electronic databases (Korea Intellectual Property Right Information Service and National Digital Science Library) to June 2017. Patents that were not Korean ones, did not use medicinal herb, only described method of manufacture, or had nothing to do with pharmacopuncture were excluded in this study. The status and application date of patents, Medicinal herb, target diseases, International Patent Classification (IPC), model of experiment and extracting methods were analyzed. Results : A total of 379 patents were retrieved. Based on our inclusion/exclusion criteria, 297 patents were excluded. Of 82 included patents, 27 patents did not include experiments using pharmacopuncture, and 9 patents were invented for treating animals such as pig or calf. In IPC analysis, Bee Venom, Panax (ginseng), Angelica, and Paeoniaceae were used frequently. Musculoskeletal diseases were the most targeted diseases followed by nervous diseases. For extracting, hot water extraction, distillation extraction, and solvent extraction using alcohol, ethanol, or methanol for solvent were commonly used. Conclusions : These data are useful for inventing new patent and extending range of pharmacopuncture in clinical use, however, more systematically analyzed patent studies and pharmacopuncture-related studies for new application on various diseases are needed in further studies.

21세기를 맞이하여 세계 각국은 자국의 지식재산권을 보호하기 위한 정책을 추진하고 있으며, 이와 같은 지식재산권을 보호강화하기 위한 국제적 동향은 더욱 더 강력해지고 있다. 이러한 환경에서 기업은 사활을 걸고 기술보호와 경영을 어떻게 할 것인가에 대한 최적인 방법을 모색하여야 하며, 기업의 지식재산관리는 관리적인 차원이 아닌 경영적인 차원에서 고려되어야 한다. 즉, 기업은 산업재산권을 경영자원의 하나로서 전환하여야 하며 그 중요성은 기업의 생존에도 큰 영향을 미친다. 특허 데이터는 기업 전략 수립의 중요한 정보이다. 이 연구에서는 우리나라 금속기업 27개사를 대상으로 특허활동을 체계적으로 분석하였다. 2000년부터 2005년까지의 특허데이터를 이용하여 특허경영과 기업경영성과와의 관계를 분석하였다. 이 연구의 주요 결과로는, 노동생산성은 종업원 1인당 특허활동도와 유의한 양(+)의 관계가 있는 것으로 나타났지만, 기업규모와는 유의한 음(-)의 관계가 있는 것으로 나타났다. 따라서 특허 활동은 기업의 연구개발계획을 수립하는데 중요한 역할을 할 젓으로 생각한다.

우리는 4차 산업혁명이라는 편리한 시대에 살고 있으며, 새로운 기술의 발전으로 인해 풍요로운 생활을 하고 있다. 4차 산업혁명은 로봇기술, 생명과학, 인공지능이 주도하는 차세대 산업혁명으로, 스포츠도 융복합 연구의 필요성이 제기되면서 스포츠의 학문적 기초를 위한 노력들이 계속되고 있다. 최근에는 코로나19로 인한 홈트레이닝이 주목받고 있는데, 그 중 필라테스는 인기가 높으며 그와 동시에 관련 용품들의 수요도 급증했다. 이는 코로나19가 스포츠산업 생태계에 영향력을 주었음을 단적으로 보여주고 있다. 따라서 본 연구에서는 필라테스의 정확한 특허 정보를 통해 현재의 동향을 파악하고 향후 스포츠 융복합 산업과 스포츠 지식재산 관련 연구의 기초자료로 사용하는데 그 목적이 있다. 연구 방법은 특허청 특허정보 검색서비스인 키프리스(KIPRIS, www.kipris.or.kr)에서 제공하는 자료를 활용하여 2010년 1월 1일부터 2021년 12월 31일까지의 자료를 통해 특허 상태분석, 국제특허분류(IPC) 특허분석, 분류별 세부 특허분석을 실시하였다.

4차 산업혁명의 기술의 패러다임 전환기를 맞이하여 빅데이터 활용방안에 대한 관심이 대두되고 있는 시점에 특히 기업의 무형자산의 비중이 증가함에 따라 특허빅데이터의 활용방안에 대한 관심이 증대되고 있다. 특허 데이터는 정량적인 정보 외에 제목, 초록, 청구항 등의 비정형 텍스트와 인용 및 피인용 관계, 도면, 기술 분류 등 다양한 정보를 포함하고 있어 다양성의 측면에서도 빅데이터로 간주되어 특허 데이터에 대한 체계적인 관리에서부터 처리활용이 중요하다고 판단 된다. 이에 본 연구에서는 혁신특허전략 프레임워크의 체계적인 운영과 함께 기업의 근원적인 경쟁력 강화를 추진하여 강경쟁우위 확보를 추진하고자 특허빅데이터의 활용방안을 A사의 사례를 중심으로 제안하고, 이의 타당성을 검증하고 시사점을 제안하고자 한다. 이를 통해 특허빅데이터의 활용에 대한 인식을 제고하고, 기업의 전사전략, 사업전략, 기능전략과 연계한 특허빅테이터의 활용방안을 제시하고자 한다.
