해양 생물 모티브를 응용한 크루즈 룩 디자인 (Cruise Look Design Inspired by the Ocean Life Motif)

  • The purpose of this study was to develop cruise look design inspired by the ocean life motif using by computer CAD system. Domestic and international brands were selected for this study researching cruise line collection. A variety of literature and online site for concept of cruise look and sustainable design was studied. Adobe Illustrator CS2 and Adobe Photoshop CS2 program were used for cruise look design through analysis of 07/08 S/S trend. The diffusion of cruise look reflects a societal trend to be changed life pattern. The results of this study are as below. First, as this society has become modernized with advancement of technology, people have been increasingly interested in the pursuit of happiness and the concept of 'quality of life', thereby creating a new trend of consumption culture. As a result, fashion market place changed targeting sensible and self-enrichment customers. Second, as combining rapid technological innovation and mass production, industrial design caused environmental pollution and the problems are being worsen. Fashion design has same problems and led to eco-friendly design by the large. Third, as the change of style influenced by economic and social condition, cruise look re-defined and became more common. The change of various fields led to fashion market place should be changed. The cruise look design using computer program will give more benefits to many designers.

중소해양도시 크루즈관광 여건 및 활성화 방안: 여수시를 중심으로 (The Current State and Promotional Strategies for Ocean Cruise Tourism in Small and Medium-sized Ocean Cities, - Focused on Yeosu -)

  • 최근 우리나라에 기항하는 국제해양크루즈가 급증하면서 크루즈관광 활성화에 대한 정부와 지자체의 관심이 고조되고 있으나, 우리나라의 크루즈관광 정책과 시설확충 계획은 부산, 인천, 제주 등 크루즈 기항실적이 많은 도시의 거점항 위주로 이루어지는 경향이 있다. 하지만 연근해를 대표하는 중소해양도시의 지역항도 크루즈관광 매력을 갖추고 크루즈 유치를 위해 노력하고 있으므로 이들 도시의 크루즈관광 활성화를 위한 지원도 필요하다. 본 연구는 우리나라 중소해양도시의 크루즈관광 여건을 살펴보고 중소해양도시의 크루즈관광 활성화 방안을 모색하였다. 그리고 이를 토대로 항만 서비스, 교통 접근성과 도시 편의성, 관광활동 지원 분야에 대한 개선방안과 이를 위한 공공과 민간 등의 역할을 제시하였다. 사례연구 지역으로 전라남도 여수시를 선정하여 중소해양도시의 여건과 개선방안, 그리고 거점항과의 차이를 분석하였다. 크루즈 기항항이 되기 위해서는 거점항과 지역항의 차이가 없이 크루즈관광과 관련된 전 분야에서 많은 개선 노력이 이루어져야 한다. 특히 중소해양도시에 속한 지역항은 모항으로 성장할 가능성이 낮기 때문에 기항항으로 선정되는데 초점을 둔 정책과 관광 프로그램 개발이 추진되어야 한다.

  • Tropical Atmosphere Ocean/Triangle Trans-Ocean Buoy Network (TAO/TRITON) Array is the series of buoys for the international ocean research project, which is mostly supported by National Ocean and Atmosphere Administration (NOAA) and Japan Agency for Marine-Earth Science and Technology (JAMSTEC). We can determine the effect of the equatorial and Pacific Ocean conditions on global climate change from buoy array measurement data. The TAO/TRITON array comprises around 70 measurement buoys from $10^{\circ}$ north to $10^{\circ}$ south in the tropics and between Galpagos and New Guinea. NOAA maintains ATLAS buoys in the central and eastern Pacific between $165^{\circ}E$ and $95^{\circ}W$, and JAMSTEC maintains the 12 buoys in the western Pacific along $137^{\circ}E$, $147^{\circ}E$, and $156^{\circ}E$. The KA-10-03 cruise excursion provided us with a good opportunity to obtain knowledge on oceanic buoy operation and maintenance. Further, we learned advanced techniques and know-how on buoy operation and maintenance. Once we are confident with our buoy management and maintenance techniques, both KORDI and NOAA technicians may be able to help each other when needed and share available resources.

The Impact of Cruise Lines' Program on Tourism Industry in Incheon

  • Purpose: This research explores possibilities for unique tourism programs in the Port of Incheon that would bring tourism benefits from the cruise line industry to Incheon. This research also tries to find practical strategies and principles for the cruise line industry by reviewing the current itinerary in the cruise line industry. Research design, data, and methodology: Because this study is exploratory research, it first reviews trends in global tourism, ocean tourism, and the cruise line industry. Then, this study compares the current status of cruise line industry in South Korea with those in Japan. Lastly, existing cruise itineraries are reviewed for practical strategies and principles. Results: Based on reviewing the example of a cruise ship itinerary from the cruise ship company, possible cruise line programs at stopover places are suggested for the Port of Incheon and if the program is planted, it will boost Incheon's economy and tourism industry. Conclusion: Basic data about tourism in coastal regions and data analyses are lacking. Therefore, this study not only recommends further research in itinerary development or evaluation of cruise stopover programs, but also future research should explore the impact of the cruise industry from many different perspectives.

Design of an adaptive backstepping controller for auto-berthing a cruise ship under wind loads

  • The auto-berthing of a ship requires excellent control for safe accomplishment. Crabbing, which is the pure sway motion of a ship without surge velocity, can be used for this purpose. Crabbing is induced by a peculiar operation procedure known as the push-pull mode. When a ship is in the push-pull mode, an interacting force is induced by complex turbulent flow around the ship generated by the propellers and side thrusters. In this paper, three degrees of freedom equations of the motions of crabbing are derived. The equations are used to apply the adaptive backstepping control method to the auto-berthing controller of a cruise ship. The controller is capable of handling the system non-linearity and uncertainty of the berthing process. A control allocation algorithm for a ship equipped with two propellers and two side thrusters is also developed, the performance of which is validated by simulation of auto-berthing.

탄소섬유강화복합재료(CFRP) 레저선박 선체설계를 위한 ISO 12215와 국제선급규정 비교분석 (Comparative Study of Rules of ISO 12215 and International Classification Society for Structural Design of CFRP Cruise Boat)

  • Recently, CFRP composites have often been used as the materials for lightweight pleasure yacht hulls. Because CFRP composites not only make the hull light but also have good physical characteristics, in the leading countries of the marine industries, CFRP yachts are being sold at a higher price. The design and construction of FRP composite yachts, including those made of CFRP, have to follow rules based on ISO 12215, such as the hull structure rules of the international classification societies. On the other hand, there are no rules related to CFRP composites in the Guidance for Recreational Crafts, which was newly revised by the Korean Register of Shipping. In this paper, ISO 12215-5 and Part B, RINA Pleasure Yacht (REGISTRO ITALIANO NAVALE) on the design pressure and scantling of CFRP hull structures are compared and analyzed. Through a comparative study and the application to a cruise yacht design, we try to understand how to design CFRP hull structures using the international standards, ISO 12215, and the rules of the international classification society, RINA.

키워드 네트워크 분석을 활용한 세계 크루즈산업 연구동향 (Research Trends in Global Cruise Industry Using Keyword Network Analysis)

  • 세계적으로 해양산업은 크루즈산업에 많은 관심과 연구가 대폭적으로 이루어지고 있고 우리나라도 미래의 잠재력 있는 국가동력산업의 하나로 인식하고는 있으나 크루즈산업의 연구동향 분석 연구는 국내외에 활발히 이루어지고 있지 않다. 따라서 우선 세계 크루즈산업을 연구하고 이해하기 위해서는 최근에 다양한 산업에 대한 연구동향을 분석한 방법을 활용하여 크루즈산업에도 적용할 필요가 있다. 본 논문의 목적은 외국 유명저널에 발표된 크루즈산업과 관련된 학술논문에서 제시하고 있는 키워드와 논문을 매개로 한 키워드 네트워크를 구축하여 복잡계의 네트워크 분석에서 사용하는 연결 중심성과 매개 중심성 분석방법으로 시대별로 나누어 시각화하여 살펴봄으로써 세계 크루즈산업의 연구동향을 심층적으로 관찰하여 논의하는 것이다. 본 연구에서 제시된 키워드 빈도는 Zipf의 법칙을 따르고 노드의 연결정도는 멱함수 분포를 보여주고 있어 언어네트워크에서 분석하는 키워드 네트워크와 동일함을 관찰한다. 연구방법론으로는 키워드 네트워크 분석을 위하여 사회연결망 프로그램인 넷마이너 4.0을 사용하여 여러 가지 중심성 측정방법 중 키워드 상위 20개의 빈도순위를 비교하여 빈도순위와 가장 가까운 중심성 측정방법을 선택하여 크루즈산업의 연구동향을 분석한다. 특히 크루즈산업의 연구동향이 연도 기간별로 어떠한 변화를 가져왔는지를 살펴보기 위해 2000년 이전과 2000년 이후로 크게 대별하여 나누고 2000년 이후에는 5년 주기로 각 기간별 공통적으로 나타나는 연결 중심성이 높은 최상위의 키워드인 cruise와 tourism 노드를 중심으로 매개 중심성이 높은 것들의 키워드 네트워크를 시각화하여 논의한다. 연구결과에서 흥미롭게도 2010-2014의 기간에 새로운 노드로 China가 등장하여 최상위의 키워드들을 연결하고 있는 것은 최근 급성장하고 있는 중국의 크루즈산업의 발전 양상을 보여준다. 그러므로 본 연구에서 사용하는 키워드 네트워크 분석은 각 연도 기간별 네트워크의 다른 종류의 숫자와 크고 작은 중심축 군집 네트워크의 숫자의 증감뿐 아니라 중심축 군집 네트워크의 중심에 있는 키워드 간의 연결 분석을 용이하게 해주어 기간별 연구동향을 파악하는데 유용한 방법임을 확인할 수 있었다.

Bow Thruster가 있는 POD 추진 크루즈선의 Crabbing 시험 (On the Crabbing Tests of Cruise Vessel Equipped with Bow Thrusters and POD System)

  • International Towing Tank Conference (ITTC) recommended verifying a ship's ability to move transversely at zero forward speed without altering heading by a crabbing test. In sea trial, all available propellers/rudders/thrusters should be used to find the maximum possible transverse speed. For estimating crabbing ability in the design stage, tests to estimate possible swaying force and yawing moment range using all available propellers/rudders/thrusters are conducted. By butterfly diagram, which compares possible swaying force and yawing moment range with external swaying force and yawing moment by wind, a ship's crabbing ability can be estimated. In this study, model tests of a cruise vessel equipped with bow thrusters and POD system were conducted to find out her crabbing ability in the design stage. To mimic quay condition, a model quay-wall was set in the towing tank.

강정항 VTS 시스템 구축시 음영구역 최소화를 위한 레이더의 위치설정에 관한 연구 (A study on installation location of radar for minimizing blind area in the construction of VTS system of Kangjeong Port)

  • We have studied the efficient operation of the radar and the appropriateness of the installation location, when constructing the VTS system. As the Civil-Military Complex Harbour (Kangjeong Port) is completed in 2016, we set the control area within 10 nautical miles centering on Kangjeong Port, and found out and removed the operational radar blind area of VTS system to provide safe navigation information for vessels that navigating this area. Assuming that two international cruise ships entering at the same time, we performed the radar simulation and compared the images by considering the three sites of Kangjeong Port, Miaksan and Seoguipo Port. Simulation results for a single radar installed at Kangjung Port indicate that the blind area was largely affected by two large cruise ships and the surrounding islands. The blind area due to Kogunsan was considerably large when installed in Miaksan, but the blind area due to the influences of Beomseom, Moonseom and Seopseom was negligibly large. It seems that additional radar installation is necessary as a complementary solution to solve this blind area. When two radars were installed at Miaksan and Kangjeong Port, the residual blind area due to the Seopseom was $0.25km^2$ at 0.1~0.33 nautical miles in the southeast direction from Seopseom. In addition, the remaining blind area with two cruise ships mutually influenced was $0.18km^2$, which did not occur with a single cruise ship.

AUV hull lines optimization with uncertainty parameters based on six sigma reliability design

  • Autonomous Underwater Vehicle (AUV), which are becoming more and more important in ocean exploitation tasks, needs energy conservation urgently when sailing the complex mission path in long time cruise. As hull lines optimization design becomes the key factor, which closely related with resistance, in AUV preliminary design stage, uncertainty parameters need to be considered seriously. In this research, Myring axial symmetry revolution body with parameterized expression is assumed as AUV hull lines, and its travelling resistance is obtained via modified DATCOM formula. The problems of AUV hull lines design for the minimum travelling resistance with uncertain parameters are studied. Based on reliability-based optimization design technology, Design For Six Sigma (DFSS) for high quality level is conducted, and is proved more reliability for the actual environment disturbance.
