The Change of Interior Orientation Parameters in Zoom Lens Digital Cameras (줌렌즈 디지털 카메라의 내부표정요소 변화)

  • Recently, as digital photogrammetry bas been widely used in various fields including construction, it is also being applied to several industries. It is essential for interior orientation to determine accurate focal length of camera, lens distortion, location of principal point in order to apply high quality digital camera to digital photogrammetry. In this study we conducted interior orientation for zoom lens camera with regular time and zoom factors and analyzed change of radial distortion parameters and location of principal point to evaluate interior orientation stability. As a result, radial distortion parameters($k_1,k_2$) are converged into zero by increasing zoom factors. There are correlation between the change of location of point and zoom factors. The displacement of $x_p$, $y_p$ increase as zoom factors rise high.

Thermal Comfort Condition of Temperature and Humidity in Loess Interior Space

  • The study was carried out through measuring the temperature and humidity of the indoor/outdoor space and the distribution of interior thermal condition, and investigating the effect of loess materials on human body. The purpose of this study is to analyze the change of dry bulb temperature and relative humidity and correlation of thermal reaction of human body with ASHRAE (American Society of Heating, Refrigerating and Air-conditioning) comfort chart in the loess interior space. In the view point of biomedical sciences, loess interior space provides optimum thermal conditions for human thermal sensation.

  • By personally visiting a location, we have a much more complete and accurate feel and understanding of the interior design, then we can receive from pictures or descriptions. Because of this, in researching the history of interior design, it is impossible to experience the space in the design by not viewing it in persov. Instead, we must experience it indrectly through the use of descriptive language. Therefore it is important to deliver our meaning of the space in the interior design through clear and specific modern language rather than using classic language, which could be more confusing. In this study, the 7 most basic items of invariability among Bruno Zevi's modern language has been applied to describe the space in Wright's historical Prairie House. Thereupon, Wright's interior design concept and essential point is grasped through the analyzing of his space with modern language. Bruno Zevi's 7 items of invariability are suggested as an alternative which can deliver a clear and scientific meaning of interior desigv.

The Fusion of Interior/Architecture/Landscape Architecture/Urbanism - Focused on the Conception of Urban Interior - (내부, 건축, 조경 건축, 도시 계획의 통합 - 도시 내부의 개념을 중심으로 -)

  • Architecture is not only coming out of the making of a building room but also contributing to the making of an urban room. "The inside is not a contradiction of the outside...architecturally opened". (De Carli, 1967) The urban room is felt as a sense of rapport between building and city because architecture makes the building room closed simultaneously open toward the city. Architecture exists between both rooms. There is the possibility of integrating, by the conception of interior, architecture and urbanism and thus, the possibility of giving a theoretical ground to Interior Architecture/Design; "all architecture is interior architecture". (Ottolini, 1996) It is in line with the idea of the "Fusing: Landscape/Urbanism/Architecture". (Holl, 2009) The paper deals with, through literature review, a possibility of the fusing: Interior/Architecture/Landscape/Urbanism. The first site explores the meaning of the urban place as a thing, which gives a possibility of combining the building interior and the urban interior. The second site illustrates the idea of the urban interior for dwelling. The urban interior is definitely a place of dwelling to keep human inhabitancy, which takes place in a united interior of the building interior and the urban interior. The third site clarifies the idea of the urban interior. While the building interior gives human being with the private stage, the urban interior provides him with the public stage of city life. The two different interiors constitute an interior world for his trajectory of dwelling. The last site traces the conceptual development of the urban interior. The trace comes to a conclusion that architecture, landscape, and urbanism can be unified by the conception of interior and the urban interior is an object of "Interior Architecture/Design". This paper is theorized as a twofold singular of the building interior and the urban interior. Ultimately, it is relevant to the theoretical principle of fusing interior/architecture/landscape/urbanism, and aims at offering a departing point to consider the urban interior as an object of "Interior Architecture/Design" and for the future studies of the urban interior.

Analysis of Noise Environment of Cafe Occupants According to Interior Finishing (실내 인테리어 마감재에 따른 카페 재실자의 소음 환경 영향 분석)

  • Indoor noise environment is an important factor when it comes to occupants comfort, especially in cafe. Results of the survey, 33.9% of occupants were feel unpleasant and sensitive about noise environment. Noise in cafe fluctuate depending on the finishing of both wall and ceiling, volume of the room, and the number of occupants in the room. Therefore, the noise meter device was used for measurement of various under conditions. Also, the subjective assessment of occupant noise was conducted through questionnaires. When the interior finish was exposed concrete, the maximum value of the noise measurement was 66.6 dB and the minimum value was 63 dB, respectively. Also, the result of subjective assessment of unpleasant noise were 5.43 and 4.96 point of 10 point of noise and echo, respectively. Otherwise, the interior finish was gypsum board, the maximum value of the noise measurement was 73.8 dB and the minimum value was 60.4 dB, respectively. Also, the result of subjective assessment of unpleasant noise were 3.88 and 3.95 point of 10 point of noise and echo, respectively. The results of the study showed that the noises and echoes in the cafes were lower than when did not.

Users' Evaluation of Interior Design Features of Patients Rooms in Geriatric Hospital - From the perspectives of Nurses and Care-Givers - (노인요양병원 입원실의 실내디자인 특성에 대한 사용자 평가 - 간호사와 간병인 및 보호자를 대상으로 -)

  • Demands for geriatric hospital have increased in an era of rapidly aging population. Most of aged patients tend to stay in institutions for long terms. This means that the patient rooms of geriatric hospital should be given different considerations from those of normal hospital in designing interior features. They should be a homelike places for the aged patients and designed to take care of specific needs of the aged. However, most of geriatric hospitals are designed with little attention to such point. They appear almost same to normal ones. This study attempts to examine how users evaluate patients' rooms. The users are nurses, care-givers and family members of aged patients in six geriatric hospitals in Busan. They rated 12 features of patient rooms from 0 point to 100 points and described reasons why they rated in that way. Also, the walk-through was done for these six hospitals. 12 features are sizes of patient rooms, sizes and fixtures of bathrooms, sizes and locations of windows, bed layout, numbers and types of chairs, sizes and types of closet, lighting, color scheme, finishes of floor and wall, and interior design tone. Followings are findings : The users evaluated patients' rooms relatively positive. However, extra chairs for visitors, closet in patients rooms and storage in bathroom, and sizes of patients rooms and bathrooms were evaluated relatively negative.

  • In this paper, we proposed a regularization interior point method for semidefinite programming with free variables which can be taken as an extension of the algorithm for standard semidefinite programming. Since an inexact search direction at each iteration is used, the computation of the designed algorithm is much less compared with the existing solution methods. The convergence analysis of the method is established under weak conditions.

  • In interior point methods for linear programming, we must solve a linear system with a symmetric positive definite matrix at every iteration, and Cholesky factorization is generally used to solve it. Therefore, if Cholesky factorization is not done successfully, many iterations are needed to find the optimal solution or we can not find it. We studied methods for improving the numerical stability of Cholesky factorization and the accuracy of the solution of the linear system.

On the Implementation of an Optimal Basis Identification Procedure for Interior Point Method (내부점 선형계획법에서의 최적기저 추출방법의 구현)

  • In this study, we deals with the implementation of an optimal basis identification procedure for interior point methods. Our implementation is based on Megiddo’s strongly polynomial algorithm applied to Andersen and Ye’s approximate LP construction. Several techniques are explained such as the use of effective indicator for obtaining optimal partition when constructing the approximate LP, the efficient implementation of the problem reduction technique proposed by Andersen, the crashing procedure needed for fast dual phase of Megiddo’s algorithm and the construction of the stable initial basis. By experimental comparison, we show that our implementation is superior to the crossover scheme implementation.

  • The computational speed of interior point method depends on the speed of Cholesky factorization. The supernodal column Cholesky factorization is a fast method that performs Cholesky factorization of sparse matrices with exploiting computer's characteristics. Three steps are necessary to perform the supernodal column Cholesky factorization : symbolic factorization, creation of the elimination tree, ordering by a post-order of the elimination tree and creation of supernodes. We study performing sequences of these three steps and efficient implementation of them.
