With recent trends, multi-purpose building is becoming an important thing to have significant effect on the space of multi-purpose apartment (public living place) with the interest in health and sports and social trend of "well-being." The purpose of this study is to provide the meaning of spatial function and role multi-purpose building by finding the spatial composition and constitutional characteristics and analyzing the spatial design of those apartments. Method of the study is to summary the spatial composition and constitutional characteristics by materials of building approval and pamphlets in model houses as there is no case of multi-purpose apartment completed in Ulsan. Among many factors of inner space, approachability, openness and amenity are selected by pre-research and it is analyzed to confirm if these factors are applied and planned appropriately. Based on analyzed materials, the study identifies the spatial composition and constitutional characteristics of the space of multi-purpose building that is planning to be constructed in Ulsan and suggests the problem and improvements. The space of multi-purpose apartment should be purposed to accommodate daily activities and has the meaning of existence when it is provided appropriately. In addition, the space should be designed to provide various functions and purposes for cultural enhancement of citizen in the apartment.

A public space of the general hospitals is for the patron, especially handicapped patrons, the aged, and pregnant women. Therefore, it should be designed with consideration of the users' specific requirements for the environment. The Universal Design has been introduced as the general design principle which satisfies the users' specific requirements for the environment. The main object of this study is to propose the universal design checklist of the general space for the medical space which guarantees the patients' comfort livings without the restriction of the physical environment. The general space is determined according to the orthopedic surgery outpatients' movements in the domestic general hospital. Based on the criteria set by the law, we visited the general hospitals located in Seoul and did on-the-spot research. In this paper, we analyze the present situation and the problems of the general hospitals and propose the Universal Design Checklist.

Because effect about environmental effect that get to human visually is absolute, ability that mural of subway interior considers relation with space is required. These days, design has been used a very useful means to achieve differentiated urban images and establish the identity of a city, and as an effort to specialize local industries through design, public design projects are competing one another. However, the projects have considerable negative effects because of diverse reasons such as unorganized procedures. For continuous and organized projects which meet demands of the interested persons of public design, reasonable design management should be introduced with a use of design as a strategic means of management Therefore, this study examined the concepts of design management and its meaning in space and analysed cases of implementing components for management of public design projects. It searched for the factors of design management indicating design-oriented management and presented a strategy model which complements design-oriented management. The results of the study are presented as follows: First, strategic implementing components needed for a space design management process were obtained. A design recognition process aimed at what space aims at and needed to identify active components such as physical and indigenous environment. A design inquiry process included problem solution considering characteristics of multi-dimensional space active components, design development considering behavioral functions of humans, checklists needed to complete design and necessary components to institutionalize design. For definition of project space, guideline projects of public design should be progressed in the same context as urban design, and developmental directions of public design needed design inquiry in terms of space to create various experiences in space.

The challenge to be faced in public transportation today is to satisfy human needs with the least delay, with the smallest number of accidents, and with the most economic use of energy, space, materials, man-power and money. One possible solution may lie in city train system, including AGT system. Specially, Passenger space in AGT is important to balance the budget of layout with passenger's satisfaction. This study focuses on lay-out and space, comfort which should be considered from the conceptual design stage of the interior layout work. Traditionally, the interior layout of the passenger room has emphasized ridequality and style. However, as the train becomes more prevalent and versatile, the focus also tends to shift toward layout and space to have comfortable circumstances. After all, the purpose of this research focused on arrangement a rational interior layout of the train through ergonomics research. Finally, the key was ensuring the comfortable environment based on cultural background of the passenger.

With globalization and the execution of a self-governing system, the government-oriented system has been transformed into a city-oriented system. The importance of the competitive power of a city is thus increasing. Because of this each region is trying to develop its own differentiated image and to create branding using unique historical and cultural resources and, as one of the strategies for this, public spaces have been developed. For a public space to be used as a means to promote the attractiveness of a city, creates a local image and works as a medium to help a community of people realize a pleasant life. Therefore, in this study, I am clarified theoretically the meaning of placeness and form factors. and study realization methods in the space around the public space case. The results of the study are as following. In the modern space, Place is to be understood as a recognition and experience. Therefore rather than spatial structure physical fixed, recognition through the human experience is an important feature of the place-making, it is necessary to access in spatial planning based on this point of view. The factors of the placeness formation are physical environment factors, activity elements of the human, the meaning factors. and these elements form the placeness through via interaction. Therefore, even space implementation of the place, it is necessary to grasp the elements of each, as well as the physical aspects in particular, planning programmatic and various functions must be parallel strategically. There is a need to implement a space device that can be carried out in space activities.

The Public-founded Museum for Enlargement must Propel some articles of the following. Firstly, it can satisfy the regional inhabitants' desire but also make a role and function by means of synthesis of cultural artistic space. Secondly, it must build up The Operational system of The Central information System for the systematic managing or various kinds of data, The Thirdly the Spatial Creation in consideration of the citizens' advantage is needed for the citizen's easy approach to the museum. The Fourthly, it builds up public services like convenient facilities and resting areas. Fifthly, it must provide information through the build up the Cyber-Museum for the survival in the information-oriented, Globalization of current times. Next, it focus's on the public advantage of not mixing mean and purpose but of having a geared mind. Lastly, it educates the regional inhabitants through training professional human resources in each sphere.

This study aims to analyze the satisfaction targeted community space for public rental housing tenants a real community space. and community space is analyzed only through the factor analysis of the effects of satisfaction, multiple regression analysis etc. As a result, the space community and public rental housing will only affect the satisfaction, factors affecting such analysis was 'common space', 'exercise place', 'resting place'. Thus, a variety of political and institutional efforts and practical research for interactive spatial planning public rental housing estates satisfaction for the improvement and community activation moving away from passive concept of the one-way ever to supply that community space in the past, provider centers and considering the tenant characteristics is required.

According to change a generation, in modern society the view which looks at the nature the people and the space is changing. As recognition which the environment is the most important factor in our society, there are researches that environment has to preserve and there are methods that the environment is related with the human, therefore, in the space ecology design views that similar to modern society are being shift. Museum of natural environment is public and popular space that it is designed and composed by a method of ecology space design. Hence, on this study, the museum of natural environment is defined public space by ways of characteristics of ecology design and a design characteristic which the museum of natural environment basically has to arrange are examined. Gallery of natural environment is most related with subsidiarity of mutuality, unity of the totality and stablity and will need other factors such as diversity & balance and suitability. Characteristic of museum of natural environment will be understood method for extension of a sustainable and mutual public space based on the this study, and it will become a process that we will have to advance for not only the present day but also the future.

The existing art museums existed for preservation and exhibition of collected material and the work which has artistic value. But today the art museum is not just for preservation and exhibition. It takes charge of public education as opened place to public. Further, it wants to be the art museum that the visitors who visit the art museum can enjoy and participate. The role change of like this is judged with the inevitable result which follows in many social demand. And increase with interest of leisure and culture life and continued demand for education, the role of modern art museum is becoming wider. Llike this, to accomplish these roles, space configuration of the modern art museum is changing. In the future, to meet more social demands and to solve flexibly, the modern art museum must concern more spacial efforts. Therefore, to grasp the change and the aspect of modern art museum, this study analyzes the Jeonbuk Province Art Museum, the Gyeongnam Art Museum and the Gyeonggido Museum of Art, They are most recently opened museum after 2000. To grasp space configuration of these museums, space syntax was used. And with the result which is analyzed, as grasps the problem and suggest an alternative idea, it can suggest advanced and proper direction.
