Interface problem here refers to a second order elliptic problem with a discontinuous coefficient for the second order derivatives. For the corresponding boundary value problem, the maximum principle still holds but Hopf's boundary point lemma may fail. We will give an optimal power type estimate that replaces Hopf's lemma at those boundary points, where this coefficient jumps.
This paper present the contact stresses, which considers the shear stress at the cam and follower interface in the direct acting type valve train system of a high speed engine. To determine the contact condition, the normal contact forces are calculated by using the lumped mass dynamic modeling. The line contact is considered between the cam and follower interface. The variations of dynamic stresses are presented as a function of camshaft rotational angle. Also the effects of various design parameters are investigated.

The interface properties of Fluoride/GaAs structures were investigated. It was foung that rapid thermal annealing(RTA) typically 800-850$^{\circ}C$for 1 min, was useful for improving the interface properties of that structures. The analysis by means of SIMS indicated that interdiffusion of each constitutional atom through the interface was negligible. The interfacial atom bonding model for RTA treatment was proposed. Bases on these results, inversion-type GaAs MISFET was fabricated using standard planar technologies.

The objective of this paper is to show that the soil-geotextile interaction needs to he addressed in addition to the usual tensile and modulus properties when the geotextile is being designed for a specific application. The soil-geotextile interaction can be directly assessed by standard direct shear test. The data presented here show that the shear strength paramaters describing the soil-geotextile interface can he greatly influenced by the type of the geotextile. In this investigation, we examined nine different geotextiles of varying construction and surface textures with two standard soil, under five loading conditions, and compared the shear strength and the frictional resistance with the corresponding values of soil itself The following conclusions were drawned from this study. 1. The shear stress-strain curve shows that there are the residual shear stresses at the soil-geotextile interface. Because of the hydraulic gradient between the soil and the geotextile, the excessive pore water can migrate into the geotextile and among the filaments and dissipate through the soil-geotextile interface. 2. The shear strength of the soil-geotextile interface is affected by the moisture content of the soil. At moisture content lower than the optimum water content of the Proctor compaction test, the shear strength of the soil-geotextile interface is greater. 3. The type and surface roughness of the geotextile have the greatest influence on the interface friction angle between the soil and the geotextile.
Top emission organic EL devices were fabricated by using metal-doped cathode interface layer to achieve low drive voltages. Also, facing-targets-type sputtering was used to sputter indium-tin oxide layer on top of organic active layer. The devices fabricated in this study showed reasonably high external quantum efficiency of about 1 % which is comparable to that of bottom-emission-type devices.
AAL type 2 provides for the bandwidth efficient transmission of low bit rate, short and variable packets in delay sensitive application. The service object for these networks ranges from POTS to multimedia conference. In this paper, we present one possible architecture which common part sublayer for new AAL type 2. The proposed CPS function has been achieved with on a FPGA The proposed architecture is faithful to the standardization of ITU-T and ATM-forum recommendation The proposed architecture applies to variable packet length from architecture CODECs for cellular network.. It's maximum process capability is 155Mbps with 256 CIDs. The architecture has sync./async. interface to application block and UTOPIA interface is used for physical layer interface.

An experimental study was carried out to evaluate the shear performance at the interface composed of structural laminates and concrete. The main variables are the number of CLT layers and the shape of the shear connector. The number of CLT layers consisted of 3 and 5 layers. A total of 6 test specimens for shear performance evaluation were prepared in the form of a shear connector, a direct screw type and a vertically embedded type. As a result of the experiment, similar behavior was shown in all specimens, regardless of the number of layers, including direct screw type (SC series) and vertically embedded type (VE series). The behavior at the joint surface was damaged due to the occurrence of initial shear cracks, expansion of shear groove cracks, and splaying at the interface after the maximum load. After the maximum load, the shear strength decreased gradually due to the effect of the shear connector. It can be seen that the shear strength of all specimens is determined by shear and compression stress failure of concrete at the interface of the notch joint.

This thesis is written about the Wired Logic Type Unit in developing equipment that the load is driven, that the interface unit connect with 1 Scan time to PO30 of operated PLC output contact with that a sensing signal of Temperature Sensor RSD Pt $100\Omega$ let generate the relay output of temperature controller and input the PLC. The PLC Test Kit in country that the PLC to be programmed at the PLC education place is able to drive the load, is done to do a education of PLC on status that interface process between PLC and load are disregarded. As Developing Kit for supplement this point, when the relay output of temperature controller to use Pt 100 of temperature sensor as mentioned on the former among every kinds of sensor feed back to the input of the PLC, as the equipment to act with real time system that the output contact of PLC operated to insert the WLTIJ among PC, PLC and the load, it can understand and see very easy the main principle of PLC use. The structure of WLTU to be a interface unit of load separated as to the point of contact and noncontact, sensor, indicating lamp and A contact and B contact that is belong to driving part, and a motor is belong to loading part.
Purpose: Four finite element models were constructed in the mandible having a single implant fixture connected to the first premolar-shaped superstructure, in order to evaluate how the shape of the fixture and the implant-abutment connection would influence the stress level of the supporting tissues fixtures, and prosthethic components. Material and methods : The superstructures were constructed using UCLA type abutment, ADA type III gold alloy was used to fabricate a crown and then connected to the fixture with an abutment screw. The models BRA, END , FRI, ITI were constructed from the mandible implanted with Branemark, Endopore, Frialit-2, I.T.I. systems respectively. In each model, 150 N of vertical load was placed on the central pit of an occlusal plane and 150 N of $40^{\circ}$ oblique load was placed on the buccal cusp. The displacement and stress distribution in the supporting tissues and the other components were analysed using a 2-dimensional finite element analysis . The maximum stress in each reference area was compared. Results : 1. Under $40^{\circ}$ oblique loading, the maximum stress was larger in the implant, superstructure and supporting tissue, compared to the stress pattern under vertical loading. 2. In the implant, prosthesis and supporting tissue, the maximum stress was smaller with the internal connection type (FRI) and the morse taper type (ITI) when compared to that of the external connection type (BRA & END). 3. In the superstructure and implant/abutment interface, the maximum stress was smaller with the internal connection type (FRI) and the morse taper type (ITI) when compared to that of the external connection type (BRA & END). 4. In the implant fixture, the maximum stress was smaller with the internal connection type (FRI) and the morse taper type (ITI) when compared to that of the external connection type (BRA & END). 5 The stress was more evenly distributed in the bone/implant interface through the FRI of trapezoidal step design. Especially Under $40^{\circ}$ oblique loading, The maximum stress was smallest in the bone/implant interface. 6. In the implant and superstructure and supporting tissue, the maximum stress occured at the crown loading point through the ITI. Conclusion: The stress distribution of the supporting tissue was affected by shape of a fixture and implant-abutment connection. The magnitude of maximum stress was reduced with the internal connection type (FRI) and the morse taper type (ITI) in the implant, prosthesis and supporting tissue. Trapezoidal step design of FRI showed evenly distributed the stress at the bone/implant interface.

The dynamic photoelasticity with the aid of Cranz-Shardin type high speed camera system is utilized to record the dynamically propagating behavior of the interface crack. This paper investigates the effects of the stiffness of interface defect(exist along the path of the crack propagation) on the dynamic interface crack propagation behavior by comparing the experimental isochromatic fringes to the theoretical stress fields.
