Design of Interface Module for Driving of Image Processing Using FPGA (FPGA를 이용한 영상처리 구동을 위한 정합모듈 설계)

  • Interface modules design between image sensor and external components are designed by FPGA (Field Programmable Gate Array) in this paper. Generally speaking, to satisfy synchronization for the poor quality data in image, SRAM is needed. To receive synchronization signal and image signal data with pixel dimension, the proposed interface logic technique is implemented. From the proposed technique, we can obtain more clear screen by implementing with pixel dimension. Operating frequency of image sensor and that of TFT-LCD are 50MHz and 6.5MHz, respectively. Most of control logic functions are embedded in FPGA. The designed logic gate counter has 33,216 and is designed by Quartus II.

  • As Internet has grown rapidly and been more complex by technology in connection with Web and requirement of business, qualify and reliability of Web application are getting important. It is necessary to study about testing method along with design technique specially in Web application. This paper explains automation method of user interface test to make test cases about user input form with HTML pages using by built-in browser objects. Examples shows the possibility of testing automation with Javascript objects get mapped. Overhead of writing Javascript can be reduced by making script generator. Generated test scripts are repeatedly used in regression testing Web-based application.

  • The large-eddy simulation(LES) technique, based an a message passing interface method(MPI), was applied to investigate the turbulent flaw phenomena around a ship. The Smagorinski model was used in the present LES simulation to simulate the turbulent flaw around a ship. The SPMD(sidsngle program multiple data) technique was used for parallelization of the program using MPI. All computations were performed an a 24-node PC cluster parallel machine, composed of 2.6 GHz CPU, which had been installed in the Advanced Ship Engineering Research Center(ASERC). Numerical simulations were performed for the Wigley hull, and the Series 60 hull(CB=0.6) using 1/4-, 1/2-, 1- and 2-million grid systems and the computational results had been compared to the experimental ones.

  • The current study focuses on the assessment and interface response of reinforced concrete elements with composite materials (carbon fiber reinforced polymers-CFRPs, glass fiber reinforced polymers-GFRPs, textile reinforced mortars-TRM's, near surface mounted bars-NSMs). A description of the transfer mechanisms from concrete elements to the strengthening materials is conducted through analytical models based on failure modes: plate end interfacial debonding and intermediate flexural crack induced interfacial debonding. A database of 55 in total reinforced concrete columns (scale 1:1) is assembled containing elements rehabilitated with various techniques (29 wrapped with CFRP's, 5 wrapped with GFRP's, 4 containing NSM and 4 strengthened with TRM). The failure modes are discussed together with the performance level of each technique as well as the efficiency level in terms of ductility and bearing/ bending capacity. The analytical models' results are in acceptable agreement with the experimental data and can predict the failure modes. Despite the heterogeneity of the elements contained in the aforementioned database the results are of high interest and point out the need to incorporate the analytical expressions in design codes in order to predict the failure mechanisms and the limit states of bearing capacities of each technique.

  • According to rapid growth of a web environment, usage-centered design is being highlighted. This paper suggests the development step and algorithm to generate a user interface prototype automatically on the basis of usage-centered design. For this purpose, The transition object of the user interface is modeled from requirement analysis, and an modeling rule as well as algorithms of business events are made for the creation of the user interface. Through these processes, visual cohesions of business events become strong and unskilled designers can develop the qualified user interface prototypes. A user's understanding of business tasks can also be improved and prototype iterations reduced.

Development of BIM Based Information Model Interface Module for a Modular Pier (모듈러 교각의 BIM 기반 정보 모델 인터페이스 모듈 개발)

  • Modular technology has become a major issue of the construction industries to enhance their productivity. Modular bridge construction generally requires the data exchange between the contractors, designers, fabricators and constructors. Therefore, a readily accessible information model interface module based on BIM technology is essential for their communication during a project life-cycle. In this study, BIM based information model interface module for a modular pier was developed. For the information models, the PBS(Product Breakdown Structure) and LOD(Level of Development) were defined. Next, all components of a modular pier were conducted by the parametric modeling technique, and then 3D cell library interface was developed. An nterface module was also developed using VBA(Visua basic Application) for exchanging a data from 3D model library to other softwares such as Microstation, AutoCad and Excel and was connected with MS Access database. The developed information model interface module would improve the design quality of the modular pier and reduce the time and cost for design. Updated 3D information models could be utilized for the fabrication, assembly, and construction process for modular piers.

Hydrodynamic Characteristics of Stratified Flow at a Y-Junction (Y자형 혼합지점에서의 성층류유동 특성)

  • Hydrodynamic characteristics of a stratified flow at a Y-junction were examined analytically. Gas is supplied through the main horizontal channel and liquid is introduced into the gas stream from the Y-shaped bottom branch. Analysis was performed with irrational flow and inviscid fluid assumptions. The Stokes' inverse transformation technique was adopted to convert the real x-y plane into the x-.psi. plane. The potential flow equation was solved numerically in the transformed (x-.psi.) plane and the interface profile, pressure distribution and the streamlines were obtained. The effects of the inlet conditions, injection angle and the gravity on the flow characteristics were also examined. To check the validity of the present method, the previous resultant the two-dimensional obtuse wedge flow was compared. The inverse transformation technique turned out to be also very useful to predict the hydrodynamic characteristics of a stratified flow with the pressure variation at a Y-shaped mixing junction.

  • In this paper, the diagnosis technique was proposed by measuring and analyzing ultrasonic signals caused by partial discharge on the interface of cable joint. The measured ultrasonic signal was filtered by wavelet transform, and then the dominant signal of filtered signal was analyzed by fast fourier transform(FFT). As a result, it was confirmed that different characteristics were obtained with the moisture and the metal powder on the interface of cable joint and with voltage increment.

  • The paper deals with the interaction between three Griffith cracks propagating under antiplane shear stress at the interface of two dissimilar infinite elastic half-spaces. The Fourier transform technique is used to reduce the elastodynamic problem to the solution of a set of integral equations which has been solved by using the finite Hilbert transform technique and Cooke’s result. The analytical expressions for the stress intensity factors at the crack tips are obtained. Numerical values of the interaction efect have been computed for and results show that interaction effects are either shielding or amplification depending on the location of each crack with respect to other and crack tip spacing.   • To explore the possible application of thermal analysis technique as a probe for finding weld defects, Hydrogen trapping phenomena in Heat Affected Zone (HAZ) of the AISI 5160 spring steel were investigated. HAZ was divided into five parts, which were used as thermal analysis specimens. Two types of trap sites were found in HAZ, ferrite/cementin interface and microvoid. The thermal analysis peak due to the ferrite/cementite interface increased its height toward the weld deposit. The thermal analysis peak due to the microvoid was the highest where the grain size was the smallest. The correspondence between the cold cracking and hydrogen trap nature is also discussed.
