A study of Metadata design for Digital Content Marketplace based on Interactive Media (양방향매체 기반에 디지털콘텐츠 마켓플레이스를 위한 메타데이터 설계에 관한 연구)

  • Digital Content Marketplace based on Interactive Media is defmed as the marketplace for content service between contents supplier and consumer through iDTV environment. This Marketplace is increasing interest to u-Life service with Digital Environment. To Interactive Media, it can contribute to enhance its effectiveness by developing various contents and service model in the initial phase of broadcasting-communication convergence. This study designed metadata using Digital Content marketplace based on Interactive Media. Specially the matadata designing include recommendation-tag for supply supplementary content. It can support self-directed action. Through basic metadata with weight value, it is designed to support supplementary content customer to want on the marketplace. Recommendation-System can be built by many method and to recommend the service content including explicit properties using collaborative filtering method can solve limitations in existing content recommendation.

  • Despite the fact that the mobile environment has favorable conditions for using data contents, it is not easy to implement enhanced data services for mobile broadcasting based on MPEG-4 BIFS. With a structure inherited from VRML, BIFS targets different types of content with a development approach that is not very compatible with broadcasting contents. Furthermore, it is not easy to implement BIFS because the standard is too complicated for the mobile broadcasting environment. Accordingly, this study proposes an enhanced mobile TV contents model that provides interactive 3D objects and GUI for the viewers to interact with the broadcasting contents. By applying the model to the DMB environment, this study suggests a direction for future developments of mobile broadcasting contents. In order to represent 3D graphics on mobile TV, we analyzed MPEG-BIFS 3D nodes and composed a subset of VRML profile, and defined new nodes that can efficiently represent GUI at the content development level. If this study helps facilitate expression of 3D graphics and interactions in data contents composition, enhanced efficiency of contents development is expected to promote the development of various contents suitable for the mobile broadcasting environment.

  • The development of the latest emotional recognition and multimedia technology has changed the traditional broadcasting system. The previous broadcasting system, which was operated by the terrestrial broadcasters, is now transformed to the viewer-centered and bidirectional broadcasting through the convergence of internet, mobile and smart TV. In this paper, smart-phone application for estimating human emotion(sadness, anger, depression) has been developed and emerged with smart TV, thereby we can present broadcasting service for enhancing the sense of common humanity among people of same group. If there is friend in the depression, we can bring comfort to him by inviting one for TV program what I watch and having a honest talk with facial avatar or emoticon. The proposed emotional broadcasting service inter-working with smart-phone application can give feeling of belonging and happiness to the people suffering from the blues, and it can prevent him from attempting suicide. In addition, smart-phone based emotional broadcasting service can be expended to program recommendation service customized to user's emotion, emotional LED lighting service to maximize the sense of reality and home shopping service taking advantage of the mood of customer.

  • 본 논문은 디지털방송 환경에서 시청자가 적극적으로 스토리 전개에 개입하여 스토리라인을 바꿀 수 있는 복수의 스토리라인(multi-storyline)을 가지는 인터랙티브 프로그램의 구현을 목적으로 한다. 시청자는 방송을 시청하는 도중 리모콘으로 방송의 스토리전개를 선택할 수 있으며 이는 기존 아날로그방송에서는 불가능한 새로운 유형의 연동형 데이터방송 프로그램(enhanced service)이다. 이는 국내 디지털 위성방송 표준인 DVB-MHP방식으로 세계 최초로 구현한 것으로 이를 응용해 A/V방송제작자와 데이터방송 애플리케이션(application)제작자는 보다 다양한 연동형 데이터방송 프로그램을 기획, 제작할 수 있고 시청자는 기존의 방송에서 보지 못했던 새로운 시각적, 적극적인 시청 경험을 하게 된다.

  • This paper discusses revenue model of digital TV broadcast service(D-TV) and presents the basic framework for integrated strategy of applications. Also this paper presents the cases of D-TV in the frame of integrated model. The broadcasting operators should focus on interactive advertising and revenue generation utilizing customer participation. Also, they should utilize the strengths as a platform operator. The contents provider should be concerned about the retail revenue rather than commission revenue. The middle ware provider should develop new interactive D-TV service rather than system use fee or consulting fee.

  • MPEG-4 BIFS(Binary Format for Scene) is the format to describe the information of time-spatial location of each visual objects in the scene. This is broadcasting for test through T-DMB in the our country and is able to be converted to various multimedia formats. The DMB receivers used currently are loaded on mobile devices mostly and the supply of the receiver is increasing steadily. These enable various service for convergence of DMB and wireless network to do. Therefore, this paper propose a new method of interactive multimedia authoring tool using wireless network and MPEG-4 BIFS. The proposed method corrects and complements MPEG-4 BIFS and have DMB broadcasting and wireless network co-operate. Also using this method, users can make out contents by themselves and can retransmit them through DMB broadcasting. The proposed method produce interactive multimedia contents reconstructed at user's request.

  • 증강현실 기술은 자동차 네비게이션, 착용형 컴퓨터, 교육, 군사 등 많은 산업분야의 기술진화에 기인할 것으로 예측된다. 본 논문에서 는 이러한 증강현실 기술을 방송 서비스에 적용함으로서 방송의 일방향성 특성의 한계를 극복하여 관련 부가정보를 상호작용 형태 로 제공하는 인포테인먼트 서비스를 제공하며 시청자가 관심이 있는 시청점을 선택하여 시청할 수 있는 MPEG-4 LASeR 표준 기술 기반의 대화형 증감방송 서비스 시스템 개발에 관하여 설명하고자 한다. 또한 방송 서비스에 있어서 민감도가 높고 빠른 인식력을 가진 시각을 중심으로, 시청하는 시점을 선택제어가 가능한 시각추적 기반 실감 인터페이스를 추가적으로 개발함으로서 대화형 증감방 송 서비스 사용에 대한 소비자 편리성을 확보하였다. 그 결과 본 논 문에서 개발한 시스템은, 기존의 일방적인 화면시청에서 다양한 화 각시청이 가능하여 현장에 있는 것과 같은 증감방송 서비스가 가능해지고 단순 정보제공 중심에서 상호작용 형태의 역동적인 부가 정보 제공이 가능하여 대화형 증감방송 서비스의 초기 시스템 모 델이 될 것으로 예측된다.

  • '디지털 컨버전스'의 물결로 기기들의 통합 과정에서 표준화 된 사용자 인터페이스에 대한 가이드가 필요하다. 본 논문은 다채널과 양방향성, 많은 컨텐츠의 제공이라는 특성을 지닌 디지털 양방향 방송의 효과적인 시청을 위하여 EPG를 중심으로 인터페이스의 요소를 연구한다. 사용성 관점에서 기존 매체의 인터페이스 요소를 정의하고, 이 정의를 기반으로 사용자의 요구 분석에 근거하여 디지털 양방향 방송에 적합한 인터페이스 요소를 새롭게 도출하고 제안한다. 그리고 도출한 요소를 바탕으로 가상의 시나리오를 통해 서비스를 이해한다.
