  • This research attempts to suggest a detecting method for cutting position of an object using the neural network, which is one of intellectual methods, and the digital image processing method. The extraction method of object information using the image data obtained from the CCD camera as a replacement of traditional analog sensor thanks to the development of digital image processing. Accordingly, this research determines the threshold value in binary-coding of an input image with the help of image processing method and the neural network for the real-time gray-leveled input image in substitution for lighting; as a result, a specific position is detected from the processed binary-coded image and an actual system designed is suggested as an example.

  • In the modern life, machines are used for various areas in industries as the advance of science and industrial development has proceeded. In many machines, the rotating machines play an important role in many processes. Therefore, the development of fault diagnosis and monitoring system for rotating machines is required. An ubiquitous sensor network (USN) is a combination of the key computer science and engineering area technology including the wireless network, embedded system hardware and software, communication, real-time system, etc. It collects environmental information to realize a variety of functions. In this work, a data reduction algorithm for USN based remote fault diagnostic system which can be easily applied to previously built factories is proposed. To verify the feasibility of the proposed scheme, some simulations and experiments are executed.

  • Based on a complete understanding research in Information and Communication Technologies (ICT), the Intelligent Transport Systems rapidly build up innovative applications to ensure real time attainment as well remote management of driven information, provide a huge range of services and involve many actors in automotive ecosystem. In this paper, we present an intelligent cloud computing for handling data received from traffic sensing technologies. Transportations technologies applied in ITS have played a great role in collecting data from devices deployed in vehicles and highway infrastructures utilizing broadband wireless technologies to the Cloud. In order to facilitate the interested in automotive industry to use data collected and afford services to the car's owner, a scalable acquisition, access to computing resources and offered services are the primary goal of the proposed cloud computing.

  • Intelligent Transport System(ITS) has been studied in various systems, such as road environment information offering, vehicle short-range wireless/wire communication, vehicle collision preventing and pedestrian safety offering systems. Related to this, the USN technology based on the sensing accuracy for motorists and pedestrians safety, the information reliability, the maintenance and convenience for Sensor Network is highlighted. This study uses various sensors to construct USN to the road, and connect it to the developed RSU so it collects the real-time road environment information and offers it to OBU and Traffic Control Surveillance Center with Road Weather Information System. RSU collects roadside information for driver's safety and analyzes it to offer IP and beacon service according to the service priority to OBU & upper layer terminal. In the upper layer terminal it is developed the IP based Settop Box application program to offer the urban traffic information & road environment, and environment sensor error, etc. Finally, RWIS develops the real-time collection of roadside information to complement the driver's safety to the intelligent traffic system, and presents various service modes with technology convergence.

  • The Multisensor Fusion Problem (MFP) deals with the methodologies involved in effectively combining together homogeneous or non-homegeneous information obtained from multiple redundant or disparate sensors in order to perform a task more accurately, efficiently, and reliably. The inherent uncertainties in the sensory information are represented using Fuzzy Numbers, -numbers, and the Uncertainty-Reductive Fusion Technique (URFT) is introduced to combine the multiple sensory information into one consensus -number. The MFP is formulated from the Information Theory perspective where sensors are viewed as information sources with a fixed output alphabet and systems are modeled as a network of information processing and processing and propagating channels. The performance of the URFT is compared with other fusion techniques in solving the 3-Sensor Problem.

  • People have tendency of forgetting music title, though they easily remember particular part of music. If a music search system can find the title through a part of melody, this will provide very convenient interface to users. In this paper, we propose an algorithm that enables this type of search using feature transformation function. The original music is transformed to new feature information with sequential melodies. When a melody that is a part of search music is given to the system, the music retrieval system searches the music similar to the feature information of the melody. Moreover, this transformation function can be easily extended to various music recognition systems.

  • In this paper, we propose the intelligent robot control technique for mobile robot using personal digital assistants (PDA). With the proposed technique, the mobile rebot can trace human at regular intervals by the remote control method with PDA. The mobile robot can recognize the distances between it and human whom the robot must follow with both multi-ultrasonic sensors and PC-camera and then, can inference the direction and velocity of itself to keep the given regular distances. In the first place, the mobile robot acquires the information about circumstances using ultrasonic sensor and PC-camera then secondly, transmits the data to PDA using wireless LAN communication. Finally, PDA recognizes the status of circumstances using the fuzzy logic and neural network and gives the command to mobile robot again.

  • A modalized Łukasiewicz three-valued propositional logic will be proposed in this paper which there are three modalities [t]; [m]; [f] to represent the three values t; m; f; respectively. And a Gentzen-typed deduction system will be given so that the the system is sound and complete with respect to the Łukasiewicz three-valued semantics Ł$_3$, which are given in soundness theorem and completeness theorem.

  • The theoretical foundations of simple genetic algorithm(SGA) are the Schema Theorem and the Building Block Hypothesis. Although SGA does well in many applications as an optimization method, still it does not guarantee the convergence of a global optimum in GA-hard problems and deceptive problems. Therefore as an alternative scheme, there is a growing interest in a co-evolutionary system, where two populations constantly interact and cooperate each other. In this paper we show why the co-evolutionary algorithm works better than SGA in terms of an extended schema theorem. Also the experimental results show a co-evolutionary algorithm works well in optimization problems.
