  • In the ubiquitous healthcare, automated diagnosis is commonly achieved by an agent system to provide intelligent decision support and fast diagnosis result. Mobile agent technology is used for efficient load distribution by migrating processes to a less loaded node which is considered in our design of a ubiquitous healthcare system. This paper presents a framework for ubiquitous healthcare technologies which mainly focuses on mobile agents that serve the on-demand processes of an automated diagnosis support system. Considering the efficient utilization of resources, a balanced clustering for the load distribution of processes within nodes is proposed. The proposed algorithm selects overloaded nodes to migrate processes to near nodes until the load variance of the system is minimized. Our proposed balanced clustering efficiently distributes processes to all nodes considering message overheads by performing the migration to the near nodes.

In addition, this study intends to check what factors should be considered in order to visualize data on the mobile web. Through this process, by identifying the cognitive load affecting information visualization by type, as a result, I would like to propose an effective information visualization method to effectively deliver public data related to government policies. Research design, data and methodology: In this study, we analyzed the case of information visualization according to infographics, which has been widely used in the public field among various visualization methods. For this study, a questionnaire survey was conducted for young people in their 20s and 30s with the highest mobile usage rate. Results: Based on the results, IPA (Importance Performance Analysis) was performed to conduct cognitive load test tools for information visualization of public data and confirmed the implications for each type of infographics. Conclusions: As a result of research, in order to efficiently deliver public data on the mobile web, first, it is necessary to construct a visual screen that can be easily identified through clear data. Appropriate graphic elements can be used according to the type to make it easier for users to acquire and understand information. Second, it is necessary to provide useful content in visualizing information. Third, in order to efficiently transmit information and increase understanding of data, it is necessary to visualize information that can induce interest in data and form metaphors. Fourth, it is necessary to visualize information to reduce cognitive load in terms of physical and mental aspects in order to accommodate users' comfortable information. Fifth, in order to effectively deliver public data, it is necessary to compose contents and information that are easy for users to understand. This study examines effective information visualization methods to increase the communication effect of public data in response to changes in the data-based intelligent information society and suggests implications for each type considering cognitive loads to help future public institutions to communicate and accept information.

  • We proposes an algorithm of measuring computation loads to distribute workload of clients. The key of the algorithm is to transfer a suitable amount of processing demand from senders to receivers in relocating intrinsically. This amount is determined dynamically during sender-receiver negotiations. Factors considered when this amount is determined include processing speeds of different nodes, the current load state of both sender and receiver, and the processing demands of tasks eligible for relocation. We also propose a load state measurement scheme which is designed particularly for heterogeneous systems. Based on this analysis, we design new algorithm for supporting heterogeneous distributed web server system, and compare their performance against other existing algorithms. We show that the new algorithm improve the performance of CPU utilization and response time.

  • The rapidly decreasing natural resources and the global variation of the climate push us to find intelligent and efficient structural systems to provide more people with fewer resources. This paper proposed a kinematic cable-strut system to realize sustainable structures in responding to changing environmental conditions. At first, the concept of the kinematic system based on crystal-cell pyramid (CP) cable-strut unit was given. Then the deployment of the structure was studied experimentally. After that, the static behaviors in the fully deployed state under the symmetric and asymmetric load cases were investigated. Moreover, the effects of thermal loading and the initial prestress distribution were also discussed. Comparative studies between the proposed structure and other deployable cable-strut system under three times of design load cases were carried out. Finally, the robustness of the system was studied by removal of one passive cable at one time.

  • This paper presents a quality enhancement of images by using a histogram equalization based on the symmetric logistic function. The histogram equalization is a simple and effective spatial processing method that it enhances the quality by adjusting the brightness of image. The logistic function that is a sigmoidal nonlinear transformation function, is applied to non-linearly enhance the brightness of the image according to its intensity level frequency. We propose a flexible and symmetrical logistic function by only using the intensity with maximum frequency in an histogram and the total number of pixels. The proposed function decreases the computation load of an exponential function in the traditional logistic function. The proposed method has been applied for equalizing 5 images with a different resolution and histogram distribution. The experimental results show that the proposed method has the superior enhancement performances compared with the source images and the traditional global histogram equalization, respectively.

  • This paper presents a histogram equalization based on the logistic function for enhancing the quality of images. The histogram equalization is a simple and effective spatial processing method that it enhances the quality by adjusting the brightness of image. The logistic function that is a nonlinear transformation function is applied to adaptively enhance the brightness of the image according to its intensity level frequency. We propose a flexible and asymmetrical logistic function by only using the intensity level with maximum frequency and the maximum intensity level in an histogram, and the total number of pixels. The proposed function excludes both the computation load of an exponential function and the heuristic setting of an optimal parameter values in the traditional logistic function. The proposed method has been applied for equalizing many images with a different resolution and histogram distribution. The experimental results show that the proposed method has the superior enhancement performances and the faster equalizing speed compared with the traditional histogram equalization and the adaptively modified histogram equalization, respectively. And the proposed histogram equalization can be used in various multimedia systems in real-time.

  • The requirements for powerful computing capability, high capacity, low latency and low energy consumption of emerging services, pose severe challenges to the fifth-generation (5G) network. As a promising paradigm, mobile edge networks can provide services in proximity to users by deploying computing components and cache at the edge, which can effectively decrease service delay. However, the coexistence of heterogeneous services and the sharing of limited resources lead to the competition between various services for multiple resources. This paper considers two typical heterogeneous services: computing services and content delivery services, in order to properly configure resources, it is crucial to develop an effective offloading and caching strategies. Considering the high energy consumption of 5G base stations, this paper considers the hybrid energy supply model of traditional power grid and green energy. Therefore, it is necessary to design a reasonable association mechanism which can allocate more service load to base stations rich in green energy to improve the utilization of green energy. This paper formed the joint optimization problem of computing offloading, caching and resource allocation for heterogeneous services with the objective of minimizing the on-grid power consumption under the constraints of limited resources and QoS guarantee. Since the joint optimization problem is a mixed integer nonlinear programming problem that is impossible to solve, this paper uses deep reinforcement learning method to learn the optimal strategy through a lot of training. Extensive simulation experiments show that compared with other schemes, the proposed scheme can allocate resources to heterogeneous service according to the green energy distribution which can effectively reduce the traditional energy consumption.

  • Smart Factory is an intelligent factory that can enhance productivity, quality, customer satisfaction, etc. by applying information and communications technology to the entire production process including design & development, manufacture, and distribution & logistics. The precise amount of data generated in a smart factory varies depending on the factory's size and state of facilities. Regardless, it would be difficult to apply traditional production management systems to a smart factory environment, as it generates vast amounts of data. For this reason, the need for a distributed big-data processing system has risen, which can process a large amount of data. Therefore, this article has designed a Gluster File System (GlusterFS)-based distributed big-data processing system that can be used in a smart factory environment. Compared to existing distributed processing systems, the proposed distributed big-data processing system reduces the system load and the risk of data loss through the distribution and management of network traffic.
