Traffic Collision Detection at Intersections based on Motion Vector and Staying Period of Vehicles (차량의 움직임 벡터와 체류시간 기반의 교차로 추돌 검출)

  • Recently, intelligent transportation system based on image processing has been developed. In this paper, we propose a collision detection algorithm based on the analysis of motion vectors and the staying periods of vehicles in intersections. Objects in the region of interest are extracted from the subtraction image between background images based on Gaussian mixture model and input images. Collisions and traffic jams are detected by analysing measured motion vectors of vehicles and their staying periods in intersections. Experiments are performed on video sequences actually recoded at intersections. Correct detection rate and false alarm rate are 85.7% and 7.7%, respectively.

  • In this paper, we realize a system that moves a cursor with a finger using the circular pattern vector algorithm that in one of the image analysis algorithms. To apply this algorithm, we use central point of the biggest circle among the various circles that recognize the image of the hand , and find out the pointing finger by looking for the distance of the outline of the hand from the central point. The horizontal direction of the cursor on the display is controlled by converting the direction of the pointing finger to the analysis of the plane corrdinate. Because of setting up only one camera of the upper, the middle and the lower discretely. On account of the discrete movement of the cursor of the vertical direction, we move th cursor to the objective, which the user wants. by expanding the local are to the whole area.

  • It is a key element that the problem of emotional feature extraction based on facial image to recognize a human emotion status. In this paper, we propose an Advanced AAM that is improved version of proposed Facial Expression Recognition Systems based on Bayesian Network by using FACS and AAM. This is a study about the most efficient method of optimal facial feature area for human emotion recognition about random user based on generalized HCI system environments. In order to perform such processes, we use a Statistical Shape Analysis at the normalized input image by using Advanced AAM and FACS as a facial expression and emotion status analysis program. And we study about the automatical emotional feature extraction about random user.

We present a robust object tracking method using pan-tilt-zoom camera for intelligent surveillance System, As the result of the experiment using 78 vehicle, the success rate of the tracking for moving object & non-moving object werw 97.4% and 91%. and 84.6%. the success rate o PTZ control for license plate image.

  • The gastric cancer takes the great part of the cancer occurrence and the mortality from cancer in Korea, and the early detection of gastric cancer is very important in the treatment and convalescence. This paper. for the early detection of gastric cancer, Proposes the analysis system of endoscopic image of the stomach that detects the abnormal region by using the change of color in the image and provides the surface tissue information to the detector. While the advanced inflammation and the cancer may be easily detected, the early inflammation and the cancer have a difficulty in detection and require the more attention lot detection. This paper, at first, converts the endoscopic image to the Image of IHb(Index of Hemoglobin) model and removes noises incurred by illumination, and next, automatically detects the regions suspected as cancer and provides the related information to the detector, or provides the surface tissue information for the regions appointed by the detector. This paper does not intend to provide the final diagnosis of the detected abnormal regions as gastric cancer, but provides the supplementary mean that reduces the load and mistaken diagnosis of the detector by automatically detecting the abnormal regions being not easily detected by human eyes and providing the additional information for the diagnosis. The experiments using practical endoscopic images for performance evaluation showed that the proposed system is effective in the analysis of endoscopic image of the stomach.

GAP Estimation on Arterial Road via Vehicle Labeling of Drone Image (드론 영상의 차량 레이블링을 통한 간선도로 차간간격(GAP) 산정)

  • The purpose of this study is to detect and label the vehicles using the drone images as a way to overcome the limitation of the existing point and section detection system and vehicle gap estimation on Arterial road. In order to select the appropriate time zone, position, and altitude for the acquisition of the drone image data, the final image data was acquired by shooting under various conditions. The vehicle was detected by applying mixed Gaussian, image binarization and morphology among various image analysis techniques, and the vehicle was labeled by applying Kalman filter. As a result of the labeling rate analysis, it was confirmed that the vehicle labeling rate is 65% by detecting 185 out of 285 vehicles. The gap was calculated by pixel unitization, and the results were verified through comparison and analysis with Daum maps. As a result, the gap error was less than 5m and the mean error was 1.67m with the preceding vehicle and 1.1m with the following vehicle. The gaps estimated in this study can be used as the density of the urban roads and the criteria for judging the service level.

  • Urban transit administers need to introduce the intelligent system to know the situations in the urban transit service area automatically. It is one of the important elements to detect of intrusion in operation room or electric rooms, etc. In this paper, we describe the definition for detection of intrusion in urban transit area, and propose the context-awareness model detect of intrusion. We expect that the definition is helpful to extract the elements that are need to construct the intrusion detecting system. The proposed model that is based on an image analysis model and a rule-based model is also helpful to design intelligent surveillance model.

  • This paper proposes a segmentation method for overlapped vehicles based on analysis of the vehicle location and the spatiotemporal association information. This method can be used in an intelligent transport system. In the proposed method, occlusion is detected by analyzing the association information based on a vehicle's location in continuous images, and occlusion segmentation is carried out by using the vehicle information prior to occlusion. In addition, the size variations of the vehicle to which association tracking is applied can be anticipated by learning the variations according to the overlapped vehicles' movements. To assess the performance of the suggested method, image data collected from CCTVs recording traffic information is used, and average success rate of occlusion segmentation is 96.9%.

  • In this paper, we describe an implementation of real-time face recognition system under ubiquitous computing environments. First, face image is captured by PDA with CMOS camera and then this image with user n and name is transmitted via WLAN(Wireless LAN) to the server and finally PDA receives verification result from the server The proposed system consists of server and client parts. Server uses PCA and LDA algorithm which calculates eigenvector and eigenvalue matrices using the face images from the PDA at enrollment process. And then, it sends recognition result using Euclidean distance at verification process. Here, captured image is first compressed by the wave- let transform and sent as JPG format for real-time processing. Implemented system makes an improvement of the speed and performance by comparing Euclidean distance with previously calculated eigenvector and eignevalue matrices in the learning process.
