  • TSK fuzzy system can represent effectively the behavior of a complex nonlinear system with low number of rules with the desired accuracy and guarantee the stability of the closed loop system, while the interpretation of the rules is difficult due to the functional nature of the consequents. On the contrary, fuzzy controller with singleton consequents is understandable intuitively and adjustable the rules easily due to qualitative expression of the rules. Ideally, one would like to combine the positive identification properties of TSK fuzzy system with the advantages of fuzzy controller with singleton consequents. Therefore, this paper suggests a method transforming TSK fuzzy systems into fuzzy systems with singleton consequents, and shows its application designing a fuzzy controller with singleton consequents by using the TSK fuzzy system when the behavior of a nonlinear system is described with a singleton fuzzy model by human esper.

  • Human Adaptive Mechatronics(HAM) is a new concept which was proposed in our university's research project sponsored by Japanese Ministry of Education, Sports, Culture, Science and Technology(MEXT), and is defined as "intelligent mechanical systems that adapt themselves to the user's skill under various environments, assist to improve the user's skill, and assist the human-machine system to achieve best performance". In this paper, the concept and key-items of HAM are mentioned. And the control strategy to realize a HAM human-machine system is explained in the case of physical-interface system, i.e. haptic system. The proposed assist-control of a force-feedback type haptic system includes online estimation of a operator's control characteristics, and a `force assist' function implemented as a change in the support ratio according to the identified skill level. We developed a HAM-haptic device test system, executed evaluation experiments with this apparatus, and analyzed the measured data. It was confirmed that the operator's skill could be estimated and that operator's performance was enhanced by the assist-control.

  • 최근 몇 년 동안 사람들의 고유한 생리적인 특징을 이용한 생체 인식은 새로운 학문으로서 연구 및 개발이 활발하게 진행되고 있다. 지금까지, 오로지 지문 인식만이 다른 생체 인식에 비해 확인과 식별 시스템들이 더 정교하고, 비싼 취득 인터페이스들과 인식 과정을 필요로 하기 때문에 온라인 보안 검사를 위하여 한정된 성공을 보았다. Hand-Geometry는 생체 인식의 확인 그리고 취득의 편리 때문에 식별 그리고 확인을 위하여 사용되고 있다. 그러므로, 본 논문은 이러한 특징을 가지는 손의 기하학적인 Hand-Geometry 인식 시스템을 제안하고자 한다. 해부학적인 관점에서, 인간의 손은 길이, 폭, 두께, 기하학적인 모양, 손바닥의 모양, 그리고 손가락들의 기하학적인 모양까지 특성으로 나타내어질 수 있다. 본 논문에서 제안한 Hand-Geometry 인식 시스템은 30개의 특징 데이터를 가진다. 그러나 특징 데이터 가운데 사용자의 Hand-Geometry의 특징에 따라 길이 데이터가 변하는 것을 실험적으로 발견하였다. 따라서 이와 같은 가변적인 길이 데이터를 안정화시키기 위하여 본 논문에서는 길이 데이터의 기준점을 손톱 아래 점으로 정하고, GA를 적용하여 보다 안정된 특징점을 추출하였다.

CCD카메라와 적외선 카메라의 융합을 통한 효과적인 객체 추적 시스템 (Efficient Object Tracking System Using the Fusion of a CCD Camera and an Infrared Camera)

  • To make a robust object tracking and identifying system for an intelligent robot and/or home system, heterogeneous sensor fusion between visible ray system and infrared ray system is proposed. The proposed system separates the object by combining the ROI (Region of Interest) estimated from two different images based on a heterogeneous sensor that consolidates the ordinary CCD camera and the IR (Infrared) camera. Human's body and face are detected in both images by using different algorithms, such as histogram, optical-flow, skin-color model and Haar model. Also the pose of human body is estimated from the result of body detection in IR image by using PCA algorithm along with AdaBoost algorithm. Then, the results from each detection algorithm are fused to extract the best detection result. To verify the heterogeneous sensor fusion system, few experiments were done in various environments. From the experimental results, the system seems to have good tracking and identification performance regardless of the environmental changes. The application area of the proposed system is not limited to robot or home system but the surveillance system and military system.

  • Digital imaging technology has advanced beyond the limits of the multimedia industry IT convergence, and to develop a complex industry, particularly in the field of object recognition, face smart-phones associated with various Application technology are being actively researched. Recently, face recognition technology is evolving into an intelligent object recognition through image recognition technology, detection technology, the detection object recognition through image recognition processing techniques applied technology is applied to the IP camera through the 3D image object recognition technology Face Recognition been actively studied. In this paper, we first look at the essential human factor, technical factors and trends about the technology of the human object recognition based SPFACS(Smile Progress Facial Action Coding System)study measures the smile detection technology recognizes multi-faceted object recognition. Study Method: 1)Human cognitive skills necessary to analyze the 3D object imaging system was designed. 2)3D object recognition, face detection parameter identification and optimal measurement method using the AAM algorithm inside the proposals and 3)Face recognition objects (Face recognition Technology) to apply the result to the recognition of the person's teeth area detecting expression recognition demonstrated by the effect of extracting the feature points.

A DEVELOPMENT OF INTELLIGENT CONSTRUCTION LIFT-CAR TOOLKIT DEVICE FOR CONSTRUCTION VERTICAL LOGISTICS MANAGEMENT

  • High-rise construction sites, especially those situated in spatially constrained urban areas, have difficulties in timely delivery of materials. Modern techniques such as Just-in-time delivery, and use of information technology such as Project Management Information System (PMIS), are targeted to improve the efficiency of the logistics. Such IT-driven management techniques can be further benefited from state-of-the-art devices such as Radio Frequency Identification (RFID) tags and Ubiquitous Sensor Networks (USN), which has resulted in notable achievements in automated logistics management at the construction sites. Based on those achievements, this research develops USN hardware toolkits for construction lifts, which aims to be automated the vertical material delivery by sensing the material information and routing it automatically to the right place. The gathered information from the sensors can also be used for monitoring the overall status. The developed system will be tested in the actual high-rise construction sites to assess the system's feasibility. The proposed system is being implemented using Zigbee communication modules and RFID sensor networks which will communicate with the intelligent palette system (previously developed by the authors). To support the system, a lift-mountable intelligent toolkit is under development. Its feasibility test will be conducted by applying the implemented system to a test bed and then analyzing efficiency of the system and the toolkit. The collected test data will be provided as a basis of autonomous vertical transport equipment development. From this research, efficient management of the material lift is expected with increased accuracy, as well as better management of overall construction schedule benefited from the system. Further research will be expected to develop a smart construction lift, which will eliminate the need for human supervision, thus enabling a real 'autonomous' operation of the system.

어닐링 알고리즘을 이용한 CCD 카메라 초점 제어 (Focus Control for CCD Camera using Annealing Algorithm)

  • 본 논문에서는 CCD 카메라에서 나오는 NTSC 신호를 분석하여 근거리에서 초점을 맞출 수 있도록 렌즈의 동작을 제어하는 방법을 제안한다. 카메라와 물체의 거리가 약 1미터 이하로 가까워지면 자동 초점 기능을 갖춘 카메라는 영상의 전체적인 초점보다는 가장 근접한 미세 부분을 기준으로 초점을 맞추어서 영상을 획득한다. 이러한 문제를 해결하기 위해, 어닐링 알고리즘을 이용하여 CCD 카메라 렌즈에 내장된 모터를 영상의 전체적인 신호에 따라 제어하여 근거리에서 처리대상에 가장 적합한 영상을 획득하는 방법을 제안한다. 이러한 CCD 카메라 초점 제어 기술은 눈의 홍채를 이용한 인식 시스템에서 사용될 목적으로 개발되었다.

Eigenface를 이용한 인간의 감정인식 시스템 (Emotional Recognition System Using Eigenfaces)

  • 본 논문에서는 다양한 환경하에서 인간의 식별과 감정을 인식할 수 있는 감정 인식 알고리즘을 제안한다. 제안된 알고리즘을 구현하기 위해, 먼저, CCD 칼라 카메라에 의해 획득한 원 영상으로부터 피부색을 이용해 얼굴영상을 얻는 과정을 거친다. 그 다음, 주요 요소분석을 기본으로 하는 얼굴인식기술인 Eigenface를 사용하여 이미지들을 고차원의 픽셀공간으로부터 저차원공간으로의 변환하는 과정을 거친다. 제안된 개인에 대한 식별과 감성인식은 사용한 특징벡터들의 추출로 인한 Eigenface의 가중치와 상관관계를 통해 이루어진다. 즉, 영상의 가중치로부터 개인에 대한 식별과 감성정보를 찾는 방법을 제안한다. 마지막으로, 실험을 통해 제안된 방법의 응용가능성을 보인다.

Wavelet Analysis to Real-Time Fabric Defects Detection in Weaving processes

  • This paper introduces a vision-based on-line fabric inspection methodology of woven textile fabrics. Current procedure for determination of fabric defects in the textile industry is performed by human in the off-line stage. The advantage of the on-line inspection system is not only defect detection and identification, but also 벼ality improvement by a feedback control loop to adjust set-points. The proposed inspection system consists of hardware and software components. The hardware components consist of CCD array cameras, a frame grabber and appropriate illumination. The software routines capitalize upon vertical and horizontal scanning algorithms characteristic of a particular deflect. The signal to noise ratio (SNR) calculation based on the results of the wavelet transform is performed to measure any deflects. The defect declaration is carried out employing SNR and scanning methods. Test results from different types of defect and different style of fabric demonstrate the effectiveness of the proposed inspection system.

사용자의 감정을 표현하는 소형 로봇 (Handy Robot that Conveys User's Emotion)

  • 이 논문에서 우리는 로봇이 인간의 대화 내용 중에 전달된 감정을 인식하고, 그것을 효율적으로 표현하는 방법을 제안한다. 인간과 닳은 로봇을 만들기 위해 인간의 감정을 분석하는 연구들이 활발하게 진행되어 왔는데, 이러한 연구들 중에서 6가지 감정 분류체계 방법을 기반으로 본 연구의 감정 분석 방법을 제안한다. 제안된 방법은 우선 대화의 내용을 분석하고, 분석결과에 의해서 감정을 결정하며, 결정된 감정을 몸짓, 표정, 소리의 3가지 요소로 종합되어 표현한다. 우리는 이 논문에서 제안된 방법을 소형로봇에 적용하여 구현하였다.
