Analysis of Electronic Endoscopic Image of Intramucosal Gastric Carcinoma Using Hemoglobin Index

  • It has been suggested that the endoscopic color of intramucosal gastric carcinoma is correlated with mucosal vascularity within the carcinomatous tissue. The development of electronic endoscopy has made it possible to quantitatively measure the mucosal hemoglobin volume, using a hemoglobin index. The aim of this study was to make a software program to calculate the hemoglobin index (IHb) and then investigate whether the mucosal IHb determined from the electronic endoscopic data is a useful marker for evaluating the color of intramucosal gastric carcinoma, in particular with regard to its value for discriminating between the histologic types. The mean values of IHb for the carcinoma (IHb-C) and the mean values of IHb for the surrounding non-cancerous mucosa (IHb-N) were calculated in 75 intestinal-type and 34 diffuse-type gastric carcinomas. Then, we analyzed the ratio of the IHb-C to IHb-N. The mean IHb-C/IHb-N ratio in the intestinal-type carcinoma group was higher than that in the diffuse-type carcinoma group (1.28$\pm$0.19 vs. 0.81$\pm$0.18, respectively, p<0.001). When the cut-off point of the C/N ratio was set at 1.00, the accuracy rate, the sensitivity, the specificity, and the positive and negative predictive values of a C/R ratio below 1.00 for the differential diagnosis of diffuse-type carcinoma from intestinal-type carcinoma were 94.5%, 94.1%, 94.7%, 88.9% and 97.3%, respectively. IHb is useful for quantitative measurement of the endoscopic color in intramucosal gastric carcinoma and the IHb-C/IHb-N ratio would be helpful in distinguishing diffuse-type carcinoma from intestinal-type carcinoma.

  • OBE(On Board Equipment) of IR(Infrared)/RF(Radio Frequence)-DSRC(Dedicated Short Range Communication) are set up 1.25 million cars because Korea Highway Cooperation supplied in HiPass(Domestic Electronic Toll Collection System). But this DSRC system has strength and weakness of service for BIS(Bus Information System) or UTIS(Urban Traffic Information System) because BIS and UTIS are required vary high communication's performance and management. In this paper, Efficiency of IR/RF-DSRC is analyzed performance of MAC(Medium Access Control) by computer simulation for services of BIS or UTIS, so Suggested to be commensurated with medium of there service. Specially, DSRC is needed high mobility and throughput in the vary short communication range, so Analysed the transmission rate of data in each communication medium over the specific character of the MAC frame.

Analysis for Changes of Mode Choice Behavior from Providing Real-time Schedule for Public Transportation by Smartphone Application (스마트폰 애플리케이션을 이용한 대중교통 운행정보 제공에 따른 통행자 수단선택 행태변화 분석)

  • Public Transport Information Service which use smartphone Apps has received attention as the way of solution that reduced transport problem. Smartphone can offer real-time information because of a LBS(Location Based Service) system. This study try to find out which factor affect mode choice ratio of public transport, especially smartphone Apps. The result shows that rising oil price, traffic congestion, public information service with smartphone apps, BIS(Bus Information System) factors get 0.39, 0.27, 0.18, 0.16 scores with paired comparison. Younger and student respondents prefer smart phone public information service. Decision Tree shows that the most important decision factor is smartphone information service factor.

  • LED lighting is spreading on the strength of LED lighting, and various government policies are being implemented. VLC research which is a wireless communication technology using lighting has been actively conducted, and it has been proven through many studies that a general LED light source such as a high-speed data transmitter can be used. But from now on, one of the main problems is the noise from side lights, which can be compared to the noise of radio broadcasts. So in this paper, we proposed a noise canceling model to remove the interference of ambient light by using an optical filter for a detachable VLC channel. In order to verify the proposed model, various high brightness RGB LED modules were used for comparative analysis. In addition, the applicability was verified through experiments using High Luminance LED lighting which is applied in real life.

  • An Internet of Things(IoT) technology which provides intelligent services by combining context-awareness based intelligences, inter-communication is made of between things and things or between things and person through the network connected with intelligent things is spreading rapidly. Especially as this technology is converged into smart device, mobile, cloud, big data technologies, it is applied into various domains. Therefore, this is different from existing Web or Mobile Application. New types of IoT applications are emerging by adapting IoT into Web or mobile. Because IoT application is not only focused on software but also considering hardware or things aspect, there are limitations existing development process. Existing development processes don't consider analysis and design techniques considering both hardware and things. We propose not only a meta-model for development process which can support IoT application's development but also meta-models for main activities in this paper. Especially we define modeling elements by using UML's extension mechanisms, provide development process, and suggest design techniques how to apply those elements into IoT application's modeling phase. Because there are many types of IoT application's type, we propose an Android and Arduino-based on IoT application as a case study. We expect that proposed technique can be applied into many of various IoT application development and design with a form of flexible and extensible as well as main functionalities or elements are more concretely described. As a result, it brings IoT application's flexibility and the effect of quality improvement.

  • AI is applied increasingly to overall industries such as living, medical, financial service, autonomous car, etc. thanks to rapid technology development. AI-leading countries are strengthening their competency to secure competitiveness since AI is positioned as the core technology in $4^{th}$ Industrial Revolution. Although Korea has the competitive IT infra and human resources, it lags behind traditional AI-leaders like United States, Canada, Japan and, even China which devotes all its might to develop intelligent technology-intentive industry. AI is the critical technology influencing on the national industry in the near future according to advancement of intelligent information society so that concentration of capability is required with national interest. Also, joint development with global AI-leading companies as well as development of own technology are crucial to prevent technology subordination. Additionally, regulatory reform and preparation of related law are very urgent.

Comparative Analysis of Traffic Accident Severity of Two-Wheeled Vehicles Using XGBoost (XGBoost를 활용한 이륜자동차 교통사고 심각도 비교분석)

  • Emergence of the COVID 19 pandemic has resulted in a sharp increase in the number of two-wheeler vehicular traffic accidents, prompting the introduction of numerous efforts for their prevention. This study applied XGBoost to determine the factors that affect severity of two-wheeled vehicular traffic accidents, by examining data collected over the past 10 years and analyzing the influence of each factor. Among the total factors assessed, variables affecting the severity of traffic accidents were overwhelmingly high in cases of signal violations, followed by the age group of drivers (60s or older), factors pertaining only to the car, and cases of centerline infringement. Based on the research results, a reasonable legal reform plan was proposed to prevent serious traffic accidents and strengthen safety management of two-wheeled vehicles.   • Real-time location-sensing technology using location information collected from IoT devices is being applied for safety management purposes in many industries, such as ports. On the other hand, positional error is always present owing to the characteristics of GPS. Therefore, accident-risk detection algorithms must consider positional error. This paper proposes an methodology of calibration for falling object accident-risk-zone approach detection algorithm considering GPS errors. A probability density function was estimated, with positional error data collected from IoT devices as a probability variable. As a result of the verification, the algorithm showed a detection accuracy of 93% and 77%. Overall, the analysis results derived according to the GPS error level will be an important criterion for upgrading algorithms and real-time risk managements in the future.

  • Recently, personal mobility (PM)-related complaints and PM accidents have increased as the number of users soars due to growth in the domestic PM market and the emergence of a number of electric scooter-sharing services. As a result, the need for PM education and practice spaces is emerging as a way to reduce accidents caused by poor PM manipulation and operation. In this study, we analyze the relevant conflict factors in order to come up with a systematic operation and activation plan for PM, and as an alternative, we review and propose how to operate a PM playground and test zone. It is expected that basic data collection and analysis of rudimentary driver behavior through PM playground operations will improve users' operational safety, and various conflicts of interest between users and non-users will be resolved by installing facilities to secure their safety.

Analysis of the Driving & Loading Pattern of the Construction Waste Collecting Trucks Using IoT On-Board Truck Scale System (IoT 자중계 시스템을 활용한 건설폐기물 수집·운반 차량의 운행 및 적재패턴 분석)

  • Overloaded trucks are the main source that threatens road safety and directly affects the reduction of pavement life. The On-board truck scale is the only equipment that could prevent overloading by measuring and adjusting the loading weight before driving. Legislation is needed to encourage its installation so that the driver can prevent overloading. In this study, an on-board truck scale system was installed on 30 dump trucks for transporting construction waste, such as soil and aggregates, which are major loads of 36.55% for overloading, and the trucks were monitored remotely. The overload prevention effect was analyzed by comparing driving data for 1 month before distribution of the weight display app that can recognize the weight to the driver and 1 month after distribution. After installation, overloading could be 6.1% reduced, and the transportation efficiency could be increased by checking the weight provided from the On-board truck scale system.
